It was indeed fine on iOS, though Android has a very very obscure bug that caused unexpected behaviour when trying to load the forum search page.
The change should work retroactively. If you've already opened a box earlier today, you should be able to open the second now without issue.
We rolled it out late last week, though as mentioned there was an issue where it caused Android devices to crash. It will return soon though :)
