The real story would be that settlers moved west in order to stake out something of living off the land. Indians raided them and slaughtered innocent people. It really wasn’t about taking land from savages. They were migrant tribes. Warring amongst themselves. They didn’t own any land, pretty much the definition of migrant. White people moved into settle and work the land. Indians slaughtered them. Then as we Americans do...rise up and protect our own. Indians were the weaker side and got drilled.
