  4. Chapter one: (Yumi)

Going back to my memories, I was 17 when Frankie and I participated in World War 3. 2 years later, war broke out between Canada and the US. It was a horrific war and I wish I had the option not to share it here.

  5. Chapter 2: (Frankie)

When I first heard about the war between the US and Canada, I went to join the newly formed cadets. During the past 2 years after WW3, I hid myself away, with no one knowing where I was, not even Yumi.

  8. Chapter 3: (Yumi)

When I went to cadets the next day, I saw the person I had not seen for 2 years. Frankie had come back. I decided not to talk to him. He seemed different. He was constantly in a bitter mood and never spoke to anyone. We were told that we would be at the front lines to patrol.

  9. Chapter 4: (Frankie)

I was sent to patrol alone. I had changed from the last time anyone had saw me. The next day, UK declared war on Russia and Japan declared war on US and Canada. Germany declared war on Spain and Japan as well.

  10. Chapter 5: (Yumi)

The cadet squadron commander finally became fed up and made it clear to Frankie that he has to have a partner during patrols. After that, I was with him again though he rarely spoke.

We were sent to No Man's Land after Canada declared war on Germany. Shelling always frightened me a lot. But what really scares me were shrapnel shells. Shrapnel shells were bombs that, when it exploded, would shoot out pieces of sharp metal flying in random directions at a high speed.

After my 3rd patrol of the day, I was heading back to a reserve camp. On the way there, the ground began to shake. I lost balance and then saw Frankie faint.

I visited Frankie at the casualty station. He had been hit by a shell but by the third day, he was completely healed.

  11. Chapter 6: (Frankie)

After another three patrols we were sent on a night patrol in the middle of No Man's Land. Little did we know the Germans did it the same night too. It became a disaster. Yumi was shot by what I recognized as a captured Bren machine gun.

She fell forward and layed there, completely still. Suddenly I realized that I should lie down on the ground too. Just then, I saw a German patrol come. I took out my Lanchester sub-machine gun and fired at them. I got a few of them, but one came and knocked my unconscious.

  12. Chapter 7: (Yumi)

About a month after being shot, I was still a prisoner of the Germans. They put Frankie and myself in interrogation. They tortured me endlessly, though I told them that I didn't know anything and even if I did, I wouldn't be telling them. I couldn't last much longer, as my wounds from being whipped bled a lot.

  13. Chapter 8: (Frankie)

I was being interrogated by the Germans. I never spoke no matter how hard they tried to get me to. Their torturing barely did anything o me and they eventually gave up and released me.

Even though they released me, I went back to the German trench to rescue Yumi. To my horror, she was chained against the trench wall and covered with blood. There was so much blood it seemed like at least half of Yumi's blood that flowed through her.

I dechained her and carried her back to our trench. She could barely move and was barely conscious whenever I visited her. The doctor told me that she was only conscious once a week.

  14. Chapter 9: (Yumi)

My memories are a bunch of fragmentated images. I couldn't move at all and I couldn't remember anything since the German trench. I do remember being in the hospital for 4 months already. I was constantly drifting in and out of consciousness.

  15. Chapter 10: (Yumi)

It has been two years already and I still felt the pain of my wounds, though I went back to patrolling despite the doctor's protests.

Sometimes I would collapse and lay there writhing in pain. Other times I would faint without warning. I cannot remember anything from my past.

Frankie was always around when I would collapse or faint. He had changed back into the person I had known.

  16. Chapter 11: (Frankie)

Yumi was transported to the hospital again as her wounds opened up again an bled a lot. The hospital confirmed that she had lost 3/4 of her blood. That worried me alot. I visited her whenever I could and with each time, she would be weaker and weaker. By my 7th visit, she could barely even talk. The hospital had ran out of blood donation reserves and there was an average of 6 people dying each day.

I went to the blood donation centre and volunteered. Luckily, Yumi was the most wounded and as a result, she would be getting the first reserve as soon as it came. And it happened, with me losing 1/2 of my blood and Yumi regaining 2/4 of blood.

Soon after that, I would occasionally have blurred vision or stagger and faint. Yumi returned from the hospital and she must've noticed, because she asked me what happened. When I told her, she smiled and told me that I didn't have to do that.

  17. Chapter 4: (Yumi)

I often had to bring Frankie to the hospital because of what he did for me. Luckily, the civilians must've saw what Frankie had done because now a lot of civilians were donating blood. Frankie and I have now recovered all the blood we had lost.

Later, I found out that Frankie had been promoted to a captain for his donation of blood and that he had been the only fighting person that did it.

The cadet commander switched me and Frankie over to the air cadets, where we learned how to pilot fighter jets like the Hurricane and the Spitfire. We were then switched to the navy cadets, where we learned the language of the sea and became ship captains. After that, we were old enough to be switched into the army itself. Frankie went to the RAF and I went to the navy to escort convoys and that's where we stayed fir a long time.

7 years later, the war was still on. The Germans, Russians and Japanese have surrendered while UK declared war on US. I have heard news of the Spitfire-197 that had been taking out a lot of enemy planes without a second gunner in the gunner cockpit. I didn't care but little did I know that I would soon be picked up by it.

I was attached to the 47th Canadian army division as a tank driver. During one attack, my tank was destroyed and I escaped but I was stranded and there were enemy tanks headed for me. Suddenly, a burst of gunfire destroyed one. I looked up and saw Spitfire-197. The Spitfire rounded up on the other two tanks and dropped bombs on them. The pilot landed and I realized it was Frankie. He offered me a ride back and that I could sit in the gunner cockpit. That one incident on the way made me Spitfire-197's gunner. We encountered enemy bombers and fighter jets attacking the base. As soon as they saw the feared Spitfire-197, they fled but Frankie chased. He took down most of them but there were 7 approaching from behind. I fired at them and they were suprised because they thought that Spitfire-197 didn't have a gunner.
