Hey FanFic! I'm making a story and I want you to pick which of my two stories I should bring to KaW and continue. The first is Red Shadows, the story of the battle between American and Russian special forces as America tries to end the long, bloody nuclear war by taking it to Russia's front door. All is not as it seems, Russia's strange and powerful new weapons seem otherworldly. A bunch of American spooks and commandos (with unimaginative names, I would love some better ones.) will duke it out with their Communist counterparts. The next is Verday's Twilight. Aliens from another star invade the peaceful, magical land of Verday, but I'll let what I've written of it speak for itself. Verday's Twilight Player1- Gora'n Level 1 Knight Player2- S'hik Level 1Rouge Player3- Merzal Level 1 Healer/ mage Part 1: Ridiculous Suspenseful Preamble Long ago in the land of Verday, a great threat besieged the land. The Ner'vak'ti, aliens from a nearby star, have invaded. The regular forces of Verday are no match. Three weak people have been given a great task, little training, and fewer supplies. The are Gora'n the knight, S'hik the rouge, and Merzal the healer. Along the way they encountered many difficulties, but the persevered. Here is an account told by Gora'n Part 2: The Journey Begins I am woken up by my little sister's shaking, "WAKE UP!!! TIME TO SAVE THE WORLD!!" "I know! I know.", I reply sleepily. I get up and have a breakfast. The sun has yet to rise. "Nice and cool, perfect for a journey." I think to myself. I bid my parents farewell, collect and don my armor, and head to the stables. "Well rested, Zark? I hope so, we have a long day ahead." I tell my horse. We ride swiftly to the capital's castle, one of the last remaining bastions of Verdayian resistance. We make it to the gates, and are stopped by guards, "Identify yourself!" they command. "Gora'n, here to see the king." "The other two have already arrived." I give my horse to the stablemaster and proceed into the waiting room. After a short wait, a tall man who has an aura of power, not at all diminished by the golden royal armor and hard-won facial scars, walks in. "Gora'n, S'hik, Merzal, do you all know why you are here?" "You have a mission for us, your majesty." we say in almost unison. "Yes, one of great importance. Our enemy cannot be stopped by a straight slugging match. More... precise and unseen methods are required. I require you to infiltrate the most heavily guarded enemy stronghold, assassinate their leader, and destroy their power source. All with minimal resources and a tight deadline. Our forces can survive two months, no more."
Red Shadows sounds okay, but with the evil Russians stereotype, its insulting to me Also, for the last freaking time, it's ROGUE, NOT ROUGE. ROUGE IS A COLOR.
Not all the Russians are evil. Some are just doing their duty. I can't say anymore or it would spoil it.
Well, he speaks fluent French and likes the color red. I will change it in the story but can't change it here.
Have you ever heard of discovery drafting? I would recommend trying this for both and seeing which one writes itself, and which one you have to break your own back to write. In a nutshell write five chapters for each story. Develop the worlds you are making and the characters and see which is more viable for you to continue. Also people usually decide if they want to keep reading your story after the first five chapters or so. If you haven't hooked your readers by then, it's a failure. This is also good because it allows you to record the concept for the story so if you want to come back to it you can. A lot of people have great ideas for stories, but few actually commit to writing it because they either forget the concept or it's just too much work. A discovery draft is a good way to get those ideas out while they are fresh and keep them. Good luck and whatever you decide I look forward to seeing!
Well you first story with the Russian and American Special Forces consists of three sentences. Thus it is fairly hard for me to picture. Your second story, on the other hand, has some description and reads more like a story. So if there was one I would vote for it would be the second one, Verday's Twilight.
Verday's Twilight wins! @Storalitte (sorry if I misspelled): I couldn't decide, so I asked the readers.
