Where were you on 9/11/2001?

  1. I was at my cousins birthday party. He had just turned 6 years old that day. We were all watching, "el chapulin Colorado," a Hispanic kids comedy. This was back in El Salvador and yes, 9/11 did reach Global News.

Back to the Topic, we all were eating breakfast and cake, seemed to be a normal day. I was having some fun time with the birthday boy. Just playing with our, "topones," in Spanish, it's a toy you wrapped a string around and let it go, and you watched it spin.

Suddenly, the TV Show breaks off and the "CNN En EspaƱol," shows up on the TV saying, "Reportando Ahora." It was some lady that happened to be at the right time, in the wrong place. The news went on to explain how the first twin tower was hit by a plane.

10-20 minutes later, another plane hit the same tower As I had leaned years later, on the of the back side of the tower.

My family and my cousins family sent us back upstairs to his room where we could play. The houses in El Salvador don't have sound proof walls as they rely on bricks mostly.

What turned to just a birthday party for my big cousin, happened to be the darkest morning for American lives...

Even me, someone from a different nation heard about it.

    Remember the fallen, Remember 9/11.

  2. dont more people die due traffic accidents yearly.

  3. Caused by a terrorist attack? I highly doubt that

  4. I was at work in downtown Brooklyn standing at my window watching the second plan hit the WTC.

  5. dead is dead.

  6. Accidents and mass murder are 2 different things

  7. Excuse you? Show some respect to the lives who were lost that day at least? Immature.

  8. how is it disrespectful? Those in the tower get a ceremony and stuff every year and those in car crashes get nothing. That is disrespectful.

  9. What if it was drunk driving? What if it was a chase by some thugs? You're telling me I'm suppose to respect those who do drugs and violence?

  10. How dare you try to devalue the lives lost in a terrible terrorist attack by comparing their deaths to something daily and common.

Who the hell cares if more people die in car accidents? Planes didn't crash into those cars killing near 3k people, creating a mass murder.

  11. I was 4 years old living in rural Western Canada, and I was at my grandparents' house in the living room. My grandparents were shocked by it and they were watching it closely for quite a while (not sure how long). I didn't know what the fuss was all about.

They tried explaining to me, but I was too young to understand what was happening, and I didn't understand what it was until years later.

  12. Actually the loss was around 10,400 but yes, I agree with lovely here. And let me break it down for you as well buddy ok? 75% or car crashes are for TEXT AND DRIVE ok?

    25% FOR DRINKING AND DRIVING
    15% BEING HIGH AND DRIVING
    5% FOR BEING MINORS UNLICENSED
    5% ARE ACCIDENTS!!

Now let's go back to 9/11 were the 100% total cause of the terrorism was due to A TERRORIST GROUP WHO DESPISES AMERICANS.

    Got it?

  13. A quick google search.

"The attacks resulted in the deaths of 2,996 people, including the 19 hijackers. The 2,977 victims included 246 on the four planes (from which there were no survivors), 2,606 in the World Trade Center and in the surrounding area, and 125 at the Pentagon."

Every single website on the first page agrees with this.

  14. And I agree with the thing about car crashes kind of.

I think some people intentionally abuse 9/11 as a way to push forward their political agenda. Use it as an excuse for war and imperialism.

    But...

Another reason why it's such a big deal is because so many people died in one place on the same day. While a spouse or a child or a parent may remember a single dead relative on an anniversary, it becomes bigger when that anniversary is for the death of thousands of people.

  15. I think he was talking about car accidents

  16. You forgot about the plane headed to Washington D.C. That crashed down in Pennsylvania. Add another 100 more and also the people UNDER the towers?

I can't think of anywhere else

  17. The word choice fits better if that was a response to me.

    "Was" VS "is"

    "But" VS "and"

    Etc

  18. Sigh. Find a site to support this? Cause I tried and I can't.

  19. i am simply putting the value back to where it should be. It is bad for the family, not for the rest of the world.

  20. 3000 + 100 = 10 000
