utopia- perfect society, where all's needs are cared for. Most people know that a utopia on Earth is impossible. That doesn't mean we can't come close. This thread is about what you believe is the closest we can get. If you could make your own society, what would it be like? How would the leaders be chosen? How would they be run? What economic type (capitalism, socialism, communism, fascism, etc.) would it have? Would it be something you made up? What goals would it have? How would the government work? For example, my society would be like this- Economy- Capitalistic. Almost no government interference. How leaders are chosen- Elected. It works the same as the Electoral College here in the USA home sweet home. Government Rules- Four Divisions Division 1- Division of Security Responsible for the security of the society. Includes military, police, etc. Division 2- Division of Scientific Development and Education In charge of state-funded science and education. Division 3- Division of Employment- Helps the unemployed find work. Division 4- Division of Public Works In charge of parks, nature, etc. The society's land is divided up into Divisions of Land. Each Division of Land has all the Governmental Divisions. The Federal Government is extremely limited and most power is in the hands of the Divisions of Lands. Goals- To bring all the people of the world freedom and liberty, then to spread to the stars. Rules- Take this seriously. If you don't, I will politely ask you to leave the thread. Criticism of each other's societies is okay, as long as you back up your opinions. Don't break TOU. Good luck! PS. I know I sort of stole this from the guy who made design your own country. But this is more like how you would want your society to work, and not what your country is. Sethosaurus says it's okay. Have fun!
Right, it's not like a capitalistic country like America put the first man on the moon, helped save two entire continents from oppression and totalitarianism, invented the automobile, and was the first country to have been a free, democratic republic without monarchy since it's founding. And get off my thread. I said to take this seriously, and to be polite.
I thought it was Ford. And it doesn't count if it was American citizens who came from Germany. If they were citizens of America, the car is an American invention.
Actually, the ideas for heavier than air flight have been around since the 1500s, and the first combustion engine is from a Dutch scientist in 1680. At least America can put pieces together. Like a giant child with LEGOs
Yeah, we didn't come up with it, but we did make the first one to work. And we invented the Internet.
Ah yes the internet. I find it amusing that the US came up with the idea, but other countries (i.e.:Germany) are more advanced with computer technology then the US.
Yes. The Internet was first used by US/British military officials to have a more secure communications channel. The first Internet connection was in California.
Well, when the economy gets messed up by a buffoon in the White House, you can get a bit behind. But back on topic. Societies and whatnot.
Yes, America has never tested well in standardized tests and we don't have the best education system, yet, we are still #1 somehow. Riddle me that.
Ok, my Utopia would be me at the top of a National Socialist totalitarian dictatorship. With hundreds of women to serve my every will. And lots of chocolate.
We are the first country that was without a monarchy from its start. We did a big part of the liberation of the good majority of Europe. First people on the moon. Invented Internet. But let's stay on topic.
