  1. Is there any wh40k fans here?

Any holy servants of the emperor? Or chaos? (Heresy)

  2. I prefer Risk

  3. can anyone explain what this is about :?:

  4. An online PC game (I believe it's an RPG) called Warhammer 40k. OP is asking if anyone plays it.

  5. actually its a miniture game u play on huge terrain boards. Using dice and rulers and stuff. Pretty cool but crazy expensive for the minitures

  6. It's been around for nearly twenty years setting is called the grimdark set roughly 40,000 yrs from now humanity has been engaged in warfare constantly for much of that time.

Numerous alien threats such as eldar dark eldar tyrannids Orks tau and necrons also human cults and heretics.

There have been a few games for PC and Consoles and several expansion games like battlefleet gothic and Armageddon. It's a huge part of the war games market

  7. I had a large collection of the LOTR warhammer stuff, but I had to leave it behind when I moved. Its a great game, however I found it hard to find new people to play it. Fresh meat is rare,

  8. Table top war gaming is fun. I played one of the mass produced ones with my neighbors a few years back. You built the maps with interlocking pieces. I can't remember the name of it now. Every kid in the area was loving it for about 2 weeks. Lol.

There is stuff you can find on YouTube. A UK based channel does warhammer and Bolt Action. They show you how to do paint schemes and use different stuff for map building. Pretty crafty stuff.

I'm more of a Axis and Allies type of person myself, but I can get into the stuff like warhammer from time to time. I have more fun trying to build maps than playing. The bigger the better. 4'x8's and 4'x4's

  9. I played axis and allies with my dad for ages. Thats a great game too.

  10. Heck yeah it is. Kill Japan First. Baltic Carrier. All of it get pretty interesting.

Me and a couple buddies bought out the you store of their HeroScape supply and set it for the kids. We gave all the stuff away to the kids when we got bored. Mostly teenagers. Even the girls were trying play.

Actually we bought out 2 local stores and traveled for a third store. We dorked out big time.

  11. 40K has got to be closer to 30 years old than 20.

I used to play it and Warhammer but not for years. I was orcs in 40K and Chaos Dwarves in Warhammer.

Best Games Workshop game was Necromunda though. Gang warfare in a 3D city. Each gang was a max of 12 I think so much cheaper lol.

    Dont suppose anyone remembers that?

  12. Anyone ready for deathwing?

  13. Also rogue trader(1st edition) came out in 1987, so its about 27 yrs old

  14. i do play 40k warhammer online multiplayer once and it really fun.i forget my ranking tho since i stop playing it.

  15. I used to when I was younger, 10-16. Stopped playing when I left school, used to do 40k and the older one, Fantasy I think it was called!

Had some great times with it!

  16. Warhammer started in the late 1980s - forget when exactly - and it was Rick Priestly's brainchild.

I always preferred the miniatures to the videogames myself. I Played both 40K (the space age one) and the regular Warhammer, which has a medieval feel.

Bretonnians for Warhammer and Eldar of the Ulthwé Craftworld for 40K with a good injection of Harlequins - just because the paint schemes are awesome there.

Mordheim was my favorite small unit game - played High Elves, Chaos, and Dwarves there - but than again a 12 men unit is just an awesome excuse to paint and modify your favorite models.

  17. We used to have a Warhammer 40k group at school, had like 20 people. $15 a year, run by a teacher, competitions every tuesday. Great game, teacher was the wood tech teacher, made all the boards and custom terrian himself.

  18. Never had anyone else around who wanted to play the table top, but i love the books! Horus Heresy through the latest timeline. And i have 2 of the PC rts games, very addicting.

  19. Used to have hours of fun painting the models. Leman russ and the avatar spring to mind. They were expensive though back then and key characters were metal. Still have them somewhere. Great game :)
