Have you considered troop count or spells? The winner isn't purely based off of who is more powerful, there is also a random "luck" factor which multiplies your stats by a random amount each time. The winner is who has higher stats after the lucky multiplier is added to your stats.
Don't know what ratios the luck goes from, but it definitely follows a form of bell curve and changes as the builds differ (for example the bully mechanic would make the defender more "lucky" if the defender is way weaker than attacker)
There are many factors considering this: - Current troop/spy strength - Pro-packs - Mith spells (?) - Towers - Random chance that you just may have lost.
