War threads

  1. War propaganda - moral boost or just bs?

Kaw seems alive with various strip wars and drama - great to see.

Looking at the forums there are numerous threads about these current wars - not pointing a finger at any one particular thread but in general..

It occurred to me that many outsiders reading these threads and following a particular war(s) will read the various posts and I wonder what they think?

You know the type of posts - Propaganda type. Little actual facts and what facts are mentioned are often one sided or distorted.

Does the average reader believe the hype?

The saying goes "don't believe everything you read" so should war threads become more accurate and neutral despite the potential damage this may cause for a clans rep or the moral of the clan? war is a messy business after all.

I'm talking about accurate facts of how a war is playing out not BS.

This is a war game so doesn't the average interested reader deserve accurate facts?

Do we care and just love to read trash talk and not care about strips and runners?

Should there be an unbiased portrayal of wars? If so how?

For sure each clan involved in a war or drama has every right to get across their point in a war thread but in there lies the problem - its their point of view and no one is gonna be honest and post how bad things are so threads are often misleading about a current war situation.

Discuss / troll / ignore lol

  2. "The first casualty of war is the truth"

  3. In war threads people always lie..I find it funny when they lie and people believe it...but that's just the way it goes

  4. Propaganda is awesome!!! It's been use throughout history to destroy the reputation of other countries, races, etc.

Truth would be a good change in the war threads, but hey you can use propaganda as you please. Personally I consider apology threads a form of propaganda as it clearly shows superiority of one person/clan to the other which boosts that persons/clans reputation.

  5. To be honest, I love all the trash talking then at the end of a war the posts of good war much respect. I also enjoy seeing SS to back up a claim!

  6. I would rather read a war thread that's accurate. Trash talk can be funny sometimes, but it gets old. What with the "Haha we stripped you" and "No, we stripped you" exchanges. I think war threads are mostly made for the sake of the people actually fighting in the war.

  7. Interesting comments please keep em coming

  8. Interesting topic...

  9. I find the cause funny because usually some childish reason it starts.Other than that I try to stay off them because it's full of trash and over reacting people.

  10. @OP I'm going to farm you into reset, just joking 

Let's face it, what's a war without a little smack talk, lots of bs, a few grains of truth, and plenty of entertainment. Surely that's better than EB's and some of the ridiculous threads created by forum trolls.

Also never underestimate the psychological impact that these threads can have on the enemy. I've seen plenty of that lately. Also never underestimate the audience, I'm pretty sure they can recognize that hidden grain of truth.
