  1. ~A Lost Sword
    W
    Prologue

The Moon was starting to set over the horizon; bringing the darkest hour on this night.
Against the pale night sky, the treetops looked like the fangs of a bat.

A figure lurked beneath the shadows of the forest; nothing could be seen of him but the vapor of his breath in the chill of the night. The Moon vanished as it sank under the crest of the outlying hills, and with it the lamps in the tavern lit up.

The tavern was a small wooden building with panels in the windows that let out little light. A cobbled pathway led up to the front door, made of exquisite dark oak wood. The surroundings were lost in darkness.

The sound of laughter and cups being banged on tabletops rang out over the little cove. The figure made his way to the tavern's door, tapped it lightly and it swung open without a sound, the figure stepped into the soft glow of the tavern’s light, illuminating his features.

His blonde hair was that of mid-length, covering one of his eyes, which were a deep blue with an intricate pattern that some got lost in. He had a face of a boy but you could see it had been aged far too early for this boy looked 20 at best to others who knew he was but was just the small 15 spins of the world.

He was plainly garbed in a white tunic and black pants, with leather belt
and aBrass buckle; nothing special. What caught their attention was the bow on his back; which was covered the bag strapped around his shoulders, and an unusually shaped sword that was foreign to the occupants of tavern which were starring at him mindlessly.

They didn't know what to make of this stranger in there midsts. There was silence as the stranger slaunted to the bar.

"you have a warm drink" he asked in a rough cut voice as he leaned on a post,
the keeper was slightly dazed, but nodded, he went silently to get it. As he come back he was holding a steel tankard with what looked like a thick orange liquid inside.
"2 iclar for the drink sir" the tavern keep mumbled as he passed it to this stranger.

The stranger dug in one off his pockets and produced two coins made out of copper. They had a symbol of some sort on the top which the tavern keeper regonizied as the old currency, he chucked them on the counter and sat down at a nearby table.

The light mummers formed into conversations and after a few minuets the tavern forgot about the stranger. Which was just aswell the stranger thought, he went from his upright posture to one that was slumped as he relaxed a little. No one seemed to remember him in these parts of Arafina.

Which was just to his likeing, who would want to remember him as he is the Son of the King who surrendered the land to the people over the sea... The hjys... Atleast he was trying to reedem himself he thought, we will taken the kingdom back, outside a war hawks cry was heard and a smile played on Davids lips, he drowned his tankard of namo. What David didn't notice was that on back of the tavern door there was a poster of him.
    MISSING
Name: David arjan (Son of the king)
    Occupation: Heir to the throne.
Last sighted in the Provence of celtiaca, with an unknown person.

    200 iclar if found.

But someone in the tavern did, another stranger to the usuals of the tavern, sitting with there crowl of there face and a plain green and grey cape surrounding them, an unfinished drink lay on the table, a single candle was burning slowly.

The stranger got up and you could see there full hight, which was roughly 6ft, which was gigantic in these parts. They also had a sword on there hip, but one that was bigger than normal as it reached the lenght of his leg.

This stranger, after throwing a few coin on the table, covered the ground between him and David in just a few strides.

After downing his drink, David set it on the table, wipped his mouth on his sleeve, out the corner of his eye he could see the giant looming over him, realisation hit him as he saw the giants eyes. He embraced him like an old friend.

    chapter1
The light of the lamps started to fade, the castles noise muffled by the thick wooden door, the thick violet drapes that clung to the wall as the chill crept into the room. A table that had an open book half finished sprawled over the top with pieces of parchment littered on the floor. A gust of wind blew the drapes open and scattered the parchment even more so over the room
and the harsh winter wind swept into the room, making Juliana wrap the blanket around her tightly; in a feeble atempt to keep some warmth in her bones.

The drapes on the four-poster bed were open, Juliana reached out to close them, she was exhausted and even this seemily small effort made her feel dizzy. Her white, slim fingers closed around the fabric and she pulled them shut with a weak tug. Giving her the idea of seclution and privacy; which was exactly what she needed right now, she colloasped on the bed, puffing the pillows up with the air, she closed her eyes to think and maybe she was trying to sort out the mess she called her life.

Being the daughter of a netanule, one of the greatest warriors of these parts, isn't an easy task, all the different people that you have to meet, be friendly with; while father just sits there and nods whenever it suits him, leaving me to the royal vultures. It's him they want to see not the dolled up glorified daughter.

"enough" I covered my mouth in shock at the realisation that I had said my thoughts out loud. Pfft, But I was right enough was enough, it was time to change.

This thought comforted Juliana, maybe she knew it would just be wishful thinking, or maybe she really wanted to change, whatever it was, this thought softly crept in her mind and eased her pain; she finally fell asleep.

The lamps light finally diminished, the shadows started to dance on the wall as they were left to do as they wished... All but one, which wasn't really a shadow, but a person that was intently listening to what his daughter had been saying, he felt saddened at the thought of his daughter being upset with him, even hating him in some ways.

The shadow, swiftly moved from the corner of the room, silently, as to not wake is daughter up. He opened the door and skulked out, closing the door softly behind him. Ravenblade's shoulders slumped as he breathed out a the breath he had been holding in since Juliana started talking.

He let his eyes get accustomed to the light, tiredness was starting to creep into his mind and his bones. The sound of footsteps made him feel slightly more alert, but not enough to care, the footsteps drew nearer as a guard entered the passageway.
"Sir Ravenblade" he said with a tilt of his head. He didn't get much of a reply, just a simple incline of the head, but he had duties to do and was swiftly on his way.

The climbing of the stairs took it's toll on Ravenbalde and by the the time he had reached his rooms, there was only the simple thought of sleep. He crashed onto the bed and feel asleep, still dressed from head to toe.

The glaring sunlight that shone through the drapes woke Juliana from her deep sleep. She wished she could sleep forever in this soft, feathered bed that had a red throw over and a vast aray of cushions that she gratefully sank into the first time she entered these rooms. Her mind woundered back to that time, there was a hollow feeling in her chest.
Even the memory brought back that pain... She shook her head to clear her thoughts but she couldn't rid herself of the image she held so dear to her. Her fathers traniee.
His face was forever etched into her memory, his voice forever playing in her head. She longed to see him again but knew hebdidnt feel the same way about her... The thought didn't stem the flow of pain.

She shooked her head one final time

  2. and threw the cover off of her in a flourish. She was standing at her full hight... Which wasn't tall to be completely honest and even she knew that she was small, but her features took many a mans breath away. Her long, slightly curled brown hair hung in little clusters around her face, her chocolate brown eyes smouldering, her small pointed nose, her full lips that seemed to either blend in with her skin or stand out on the background, her slim figure that made the clothes she wore drape off her in a wave of fabric.

She walked across the flagstone floor that chilled the soles of her feet as she moved her way towards the place her father was last night, not know it of course, she found her day clothes in the wooden cupboard, she crossed the room to the door, opened it alittle. The guards head snapped up as he heard tje creak of the door opening, Juliana smiled to herself when she saw the guard.
She smiled openly to him, he gave a warm smile back and a curt nod, she quickly walked out the door as not to be seen in just her flimsy nightgown, one of the straps holding it up slip off her shoulder reaviling her breast to the guard on duty, his cheeks flushed an ugly red as he snapped his head away.
"I'm sorry maddam, I didn't..." he tried to say before she cut in.
"no need for apologizes, it was my fault, now if you don't mind I'll see you in my rooms later" she giggled at the shocked look on the guards face... Anything to occupy her mind.

    ~Page 2~

She left the still smerking guard outside her door, and walked to the bath rooms, the heels of her feet making dull thuds on the stone floor. She kept hopping from one leg to the other because the floor was soo cold... "Severs me right for not putting on my shoes," she thought sullenly. She moaned as she heard herself say her thoughts out loud... Again.
She heard a great crash coming from the room she just walked past.
    She stopped.
She turned towards the door slowly... She rested her hand on the handle ready to turn it.
    There was another crash.
She turned the handle quickly and flung into the room screaming.
"what do you think you're doing young lady?" a voice boomed at her.
She opened he eyes and looked at the blurry figure.
"well... Er... I..." her eyes refocused to the harsh light and she looked open the king in bed, with a lady.
"well if you have no reason to be here OUT!"im busy.. Can't you see?"
Juliana had to atop herlsef breaking into hesterics, she bit her lower lip to stop the internal giggling.
She back out of the room apologizing the whole way... Still laughing silently to herself. The laughter finally escaped when she shut the heavy door behind her, she sunk to her knees in hesterics, her eyes swimming with tears of laughter.
After some time she picked herself up, tears still in her eyes, she shakely walked to the bath rooms. The steam swirled around her ankles, warming her, relaxing her mind. Her thoughts slipping away into the mist. Juliana wiggled her toes trying to feel the steam that surrounded her. A sweet

  3. A sweet and soft melody started to play in her head, it was one she remembered him playing. She sighed, letting the music bring back the memories. She opened her eyes for the first time since entering the bath rooms, she couldn't see much in all honesty, but as she was stumbling across the mist covered room she stubbed her toe. She let out a breath of pain filled air. She looked down at what it was, expecting it to be the bath, it was the sheath of a sword, she picked it up, curious as to what it was, it wasn't something she had ever seen before. The running water stopped and Juliana froze. She replaced the swords sheath slowly

  4. and without noise. Her eyes locked on a shadow at the far corner of the room. She walked quietly there. "heel, side, ball" she remembered. She froze as there was a splash of water and a sigh.
"well don't just stand there, jump in" a voice said, filling the room.
"well good sir I do not know you, and sharing a bath with you is a little too much" Juliana replied to the voice. She heard a chuckle. "not my bath, the one next to it M'lady, don't worry I've seen your bare skin before". The familiar voice retorted.
"The guard? Could it be?" she thought.
"still don't know who it is?" the vocie said interupting her thoughts. "fine, pass me the lute" the voice asked.

    ~Page 3 coming soon, so wait~

    ~page3~
Her breath caught in her throat.
    "pass the lute?" she stammered.
"Ah, what's wrong with that? Figured it's me yet.." the voice asks innocently "by the look on your face I guess you have" the voice contiued with a hint of a smile in the way it was said, made Juliana start to cry tears of joy.

The figure climbed out of bath, making wet foot prints along the flagstone floor. The figure walked slowly to a near-by bench bent down and picked up a towel to dry themselves off.

David looked at Juliana in the mist.
she hasn't changed a bit he thought
"same old juli" he said to her.
"same old David" she replied sheepishly. David walked slowly in the mist, following the soft, sweet smell of the luna flower. He reaches his hands out, it brushes against bare skin. He moves his hands to juliana's neck and traces her collar bone. He kisses her neck softly, once, twice. Juliana turns around slowly a d cradles Davids face in her hands. She stands on tip toes and kisses his lips with a hidden passion, she splits his lips with hers and explores the intamacy they share together in this isolated moment, the mist making them hot, sweaty and left them panting for breath.

"how'd you get here?" she asked between breaths.
"well...." David starts to say but is interupted but the bath rooms door swinging open and a guard bursts in, panting for breath.
"David..... Courtyard......Guards.... Hirok......... Needs.....help" the guard says in between gasps for breath. David rolls his eyes and moved to get get on his tunic and trousers in a hurried fashion. He unsheathed his sword and rushed out the door, knocking the guard over as he passed him.
"sorry" he called over his shoulder as he ran out the room, leaving juli staring at him in awe.

David hurtled down the stone stairs, dashing between people, sending some sprawling over the floor and tumbling down the way the came. He didn't take a step that wasn't accompanied by a sorry. David finally made it down the stairs, he crashed into the door, making it fling open.
Hirok is stand in the courtyard with his katana in one hand and short sword in the other, 6 royal guards have formed a circle around him. A sword flashes towards him. Hirok blocks the blow easily with his short sword. He dives down

  5. and swipes the guards leg away from underneath him.

Ripples of laughter pass through David's body, obviously audable as many of the onlookers where staring at him. Even some of the guards circling hirok put there weapons down and gave him a look. "hirok" he called, his voice booming through the courtyard. Everyone stopped and stared at him this time.
"enough"David continues in a loud voice, making even hirok stop and smile.
"Hey David, mind telling these guards to stop" hirok asks as he turns around to face david with his wolfish grin. David took a minuet to look around him. Massive red and yellow banners hung of the castle's outer wall, billowing in te breeze. The White stone hurt Davids eyes, he looked away before he could see much else of the banner. He now looked at the surrounding buildings, the old run down tavern "Knights night inn" that was still the best place in Monja for ale.
with all this money, why couldn't they refurbish it?. he pondered on the thought while his eyes swept the rest of the buildings, and settled on the center piece of the courtyard, the fountain. A flock of doves surrounded the hole where the water was gushing out. It was made of pure marble, shinned

  6. and polished to perfection, not a blemish on the surface.
David takes his time walking over to Hirok.
"Well Hirok, seems like you've gotten yourself into a little prediciment" David says in a smug voice while walking towards the captian of the guard.
"well captian, what has my friend here done to deserve such a warm welcome from his majesty?" he says as he passes the captian, a short stubby man, with broad shoulders and muscels that look like coils of steel under skin.

The captain was taken back by this youth standing in front of him, seeminly calm...taughting him maybe. The captian shakes his head as to recover his thoughts.
"well sir, your friend is a wanted man in this kingdom, and the king wants him dead" the captian answers the question with a cold voice.
A booming laugh rings over the courtyard inturupting Davids response.
"he is not the one, ira.. You mistake him for the gentleman infront of you" the voice says after the laughter has stopped. The captain drew his dagger in one swift, fluid motion and swiped at the youth infront of him. The captains eyes cloud over in a rage and he swipes blindly again. The next second the wind is being pushed from his lungs, and his dagger ripped out of his hand, he feels a sharp point at his neck.
"nice try" a voice whispers in his ear.

    ~Page 4~

David took his knee off the captians back slowly... Keeping the tip of his blade pointed at the mans neck.

The captian got up slowly. His hand rubbing his neck, to try and ease the pain.
"Captain, stand down" the voice from above comanded.
"what ya thi'k I'm douin', ya over grown lump" The captian says in a ruff accent as he walks towards the rest of his guard.
The figure standing on the veranda finally comes into view, their buldging stomach leading the way...closely followed by a stout pair of legs and broaud shoulder...their face still resides in the shadows.

  13. "what a pleasant surprise finding you here David, I was..." the figure started to say but was interupted by a bout of laughter from the crowd. Now of course this figure on the verranda was the king, well that's what he called himself, but everyone knew the rightful king was this youth in front of them, pand they knew full well that the "king" wasn't so glad to see him.
"why don't we have a feast to celebrate your return?" said the seemily oblivious, stand in, king.

David took a quick glance around him, his eyes laying on poverty and starvation.
"make it a public one and I'll grant you this wish" he replied coldly
"and after the feast I will take back the crown" he said, testing the councilmans nerve.

The sound of astonished gasped rippled through the people like a new flowing river.
"you may find that more difficult than you think oh king David." he said mockingly, and laughing all the while.
"In that case i shall decline your offer and will see you in 3 moons to see if you've changed your mind" David said with a smile on his lips.

David walked towards the gates hirok and half the guard tailing him.
    "OPEN THE GATES" someone shouted.

Gears, levers and ropes where pulled to open the massive double oak doors, what anyone failed to notice was David placing something on the inside of the door.

It closed behind them with a bang.

Silence filled the courtyard, the councilmans face was red with anger!
"GET BACK TO WORK" he shouted.

    ~Page 5~
"ahhhhhhhhh" David breathed as the gates shut behind him. "well that went well" he said with a smile.
The others stared at him as one would look apon a crazy women.
"um...are you feeling alright David?" hirok asked him, worried about his friends health.
    "sure I am....why?"
"it's just that....it actually didn't go toooo well...."
"oh pfft, it'll work out in 3 days, if he doesn't except we'll take the castle by force"
"and how do you plan on doing that?"
hirok started to ask but was interupted by the cry off a war hawk. "oh you haven't have you?"
David smiled as the ground began to rumbled.

The shouts of Davids army reached them before they did themselves.
"HALT" David cried, 20 times louder than any human could of. The rumbling ceased and a war cry was issued and a battallion of war hawks were flying in the air around them.

Three moons passed in what seemed like a blink of and eye for the councilman, he had heard, rather than seen David's army but he was sure they wouldn't be able to break down his gates, they'd die trying.
As for David the three moons passed at a lesuirely pace, with him feasting with his army, trainning with them, teaching a few of them archery with his massive recurve bow. But the time had come and David almost felt sorry for the councilman, almost. I think the only thing he was sorry about was the gates he had to destroy to get into the castle, again.

    It was time.

The army was mobalised and already on the move, the first row of royal knights on the crest of the hill. They all waited. David leaped onto his horse and speed towards the castles gates carrying his flag.
"DOES YOUR KING SURRENDER AND GIVE ME BACK MY KINGDOM" David shouted towards the castle walls.
"YOU WILL HAVE TO KILL HIM BEFORE THAT HAPPENS!!" a guard, sound nervous replied.
"that can be arranged" David said to himslef as he turned and gallopped towards his men who had advanced so they were in charging distance, but out of range of the crossbows.
As David drew closer to his line he dimounts and pulled his bow from the horses saddle, put the tip into a nearby fire and let loose aim for the middle crack in the gates.

The guards looked amused that this guy thought one flaming arrow could bring down the gates, they started to laugh.

The arrow struck true and the gates imploded and sprang from their hinges as the vast ammount of solution caught fire.

    The guards weren't laughing anymore.

As soon as he realesed the arrow David clambered onto his horse and charged down the arrow waiting for that moment of impact, 40yards. 30yards. 20yards. 10yards. When the charge got to within 5yards of the gate the pulled up their shields and stopped the volly of arrows that decended apon them.

  14. The door bust inwards as soon as the arrow struck, women and children screamed, men ran for there houses, to get wepons or to hide, no one knew.

The guard were taken by surprise, in the confusion they died not know who or what struck them down. As the screaming had stopped and the dust had settled all that could be seen in the courtyard was David and his shineing knights, not one hurt or injured. The gates opened in the inner circle of the city, and out came the rest of the guard, 100 in numbers and even more in skill for every royal guard was worth 10 normal soldiers. David dismounted from his horse and made his knights stay. Laughter came from the guard. David pulled out his sword as they charged and in the blink of an eye they vanished. On lookers would later recall he enchanted something under his breath, others would say it was his blinding skill with a sword.
    Both would be correct.
David bounded towards his horse and mounted in one fluid motion and shouted at the top of his lungs.
"40 KNIGHTS HAVE TAKEN THIS CASTLE IN THE TIME OT TAKES YOU TO GET OUT OF BED! THIS IS MY KINGDOM I NOW ORDER YOU TO STAND DOWN!!" some cheers erupted from a following of on lookers, his knights impassive to it all, as they were trained to be. It was silence afterwards and the inner circles gate opened one more, but there was no royal guard, not more soldiers hiding, just the fat counciman holding juliana with a knife at her neck.
"you will let me go David or she dies with me"
David's anger was uncontrolable, he swang for his bow knocked it and pointed it at the councilmans head. He lost his nerve as he say juliana's eyes, he lowered the tip.
    "you may leave"
The councilman grinned and started to walk to the gates not turning his back until he was out of the city all together when he pushed Juliana into the mud and ran along the road out of the city.
David rushed to juliana's side, picked her up and held her in his arms, his world, his everything once again his.
"David....you can't...let...him get...away" she said between gasps of breath.
"my army has already picked him up" he replied as he heard the war hawks go silent, knowing that they found their prey.

  15. good job saint :D i like it as well

  16. The people of the city started to crowd round David and his knights, he took one look at them and felt sorry.

"do you want me as king?" he asked them in a whisper that none, bar Juliana heard him.
"Do you want me as king?!" he asked again in a louder voice, someone at the back of the crowd shouted something unaudible to David. The crowd suddenly parted and it let through a hulk of a man, matching hirok in size...the blacksmith. Now every city has a blacksmith but none like Barfor, he demanded respect and he got it, he was loved by the population and he loved them...he had raised David as a child in ways his father couldn't and it brought a tear to David's eye to then see this hulk of a man stand and kneel before him. David rushed to him and lifted him up by the arm and embraced him tightly, a hesitant hand rested on David back. The crowd erupted into cheers, songs and even small break outs of dance. A fan fair played and David wondered where on Earth that came from, but then the castle gates opened to admin the senior retainers.
this should be fun David thought.
The escort stopped when it saw David, but didn't dismount.
"who are you?" one shouted out.
"King" David replied, which was greeted by cheering.
"b...but the king is dead" one stammered
I can see that these idiots will get on my nerves
"let me put is this way, he had a son correct" David said, silence gave him his reply.
"we thought the son died" another shouted.
"but yet I stand before you, having taken back my city and home, with only 40knights at my command"
"I'm afraid I can not believe you and our army will march against this city, it's already here by the sounds of it" he added as screams of men filled the air, a battle cry.
"let's go to the battlements shall we?" David asked the one who spoke. He dismounted and followed David.
"now, may I ask why don't you believe me?"
"I grew up with David and I was sure I'd recognize his face if I ever saw it again"
"the appearence of people change makoto"
The saying of the mans name shocked him and made makoto stop mid-step.
"you know my name....it means nothing"
"I was affraid you'd say that" David took the last step up the stone stairs and motioned for makoto to join him.
David let makoto step inti view of his army first and let him soak in what he was up against if you decided to attack, it was suicide in other words.
David pictured his army, bands of men from all over, but they worked as one machine. 2000knights, mostly trained by David and hirok. They came from as far as Amayla

  17. to Hirosi mountains. 5000 archers, 3000 lancemen, 500 hunters, countless foot soldiers, all different races working as one. This was the first army that had atleast one man or women from every race throughout Arafita. He imagined the clinking of metal and the war cry ripping through the air. David smiled.
Makoto stared on in awe... No army he could raise would match this, even if he took all of Arafita under his banner, which he couldn't do as this...this man has done.
who is he? makoto thought. But as he started to get lost in his own thoughts, the man calling himself David stepped up next to him and waved. The shouts grew more intense and Makoto could make out just one word. David. That's when he knew that this man beside him was the real king. A tear sprang to his eye, he wiped it away quickly with his sleeve.
"have you realised yet makoto?" David asked
"I have David, I didn't think I'd see you again, pitiful as it is, it's the truth"
"that makes two of us, I could stand here and tell you the tale, but it is too long, even the shortened version and yet there is much to do"
    Makoto grumbled.
"I'm sure you've heard of the armies massing in the west?" David asked.
"of course, but no army could match this for size" Makoto replied.
"nor there skill and ability" David smirked.
    "mhmmmm" Makoto grumbled.
"the army is to be turned into farmers and craftsmen, before I require them for arms. we will build new cities, towns and villages on the western road, forts on the southeren boarder and ships on the northen sea, there is alot to do and everyone from Arafita will start again. Materials have been brought from their homes, their familes travel behind the army and already move to their new homes"
"that's a little drastic don't you think David?"
"how so? We have the materials, the man power, the wealth that has been squandered here, it's all with them as they travel. The port of Gula has already been built, it's villages are complete, it's ships, fishing and trading. it's showing the world our wealth and power, it's time to show ourselves it aswell."
"as you command, my king" Makoto replied sully, but what Makoto wasn't aware of was that it was possible and that David would be the one to do it, but he'd find out soon enough.

    ~Page 6~

Days past, David giving people plans for buildings, giving them money to trade with, telling them where there famillies are and where to build and what materials he wanted used.
Weeks past, David's love for Juliana rekindled and they became intimate, seeking each other out when they could, the city knew and looked apon it with smiles of joy.
Months past, and David and Juliana sealed the bound between man and wife.
A year has pasted since David first took over his kingdom, the fields where flourishing like berries in the sun, his cities popping up like a weed, but a beautiful one, his kingdom grew wealthy due to the trade at port Gula, his ships ladden with goods, materials, food and money. His army was hardened by the work, but were still one machine, they trained as a whole every two months, and David only saw improvement. His fortifications in is towns, villages, castles and boarders where the stongest they had ever been. He was happy and content, Juliana at his side ment more to him than anything. But there was on thing left to do, he called for the stone masson. They got to work on the statue the next day. The people of Arafina wondered if David had finally snapped under the pressure and and urcummed to all the glory and decided to build a statue of himself...but they also thought he did deserve it. But they were wrong, on the first account anyway. David didn't build a statue of himself, on the contary it wasn't even a statue, but a hall. When David saw the structure he put up sheets around it so the public couldn't see, he wanted to keep it a secret for as long as he could. But as a month past and the hall was finished. He didn't need to hide it anymore. He gave the city a day to relax, the 7th day of a week.

  18. You should have more fighting scenes and make them more descriptive. A good example of what I mean is like R.A. Salvatores writing
