  1. The Story Of Icarus

This is a mixture of my reality and my KaW reality. I put some of my closer friends in the story to take place of some people.. I think. I replaced names with Grecian names.

This story has a lot of Greek Mythology names in it. I just like Greek Mythology a lot.

    Prologue
Our hero plunges toward the gruesome monster's mouth, sword and hammer raised above his head.
    "Down... With... LAMPS..!!!"

Icarus had light brown hair, and wore glasses some of the time, usually contacts though. He was named after the old Greek myth of Daedalus's son. The funny thing is, his Dad's name is Midas. He wish he had wings, even if made from feathers and wax, but he didn't. He wished he lived in those old times, but he didn't. Instead he got to play video games and read books of those ancient times. But.. He did love reading, writing, and playing games. Icarus had established a character on some online role-playing forums whose name was Forgotten26 and that had a weapon called, 'Remembrance.' Just when he had finished posting something, his parents made him go to bed.

    Chapter 1

Icarus awoke to the sound of his alarm clock alerting him it was 7:00, time for him to get ready for school. He turned the shower water on to make it get warm, and while waiting, he checked the forums. There were a few interesting things other people had done, but not really anything much. While checking the many pages, he didn't notice the time that had passes by. The only thing that made him notice that the shower was getting way too hot was that it was getting waa-ay to humid in there. He quickly turned on the fan and put the water to a lower temperature.

"Phew.. That was close.." Icarus whispered to himself as he got in the shower.

About 20 minutes later, Icarus was at the private school he now goes to, ever since he had had those fainting spells earlier that his parents thought were due to nervousness. One of the good things about it though was that some of these people played that same game and role-played also. Another was that his cousin, Jason, was there, and a girl he really liked, named Alcestis.

"Alright, alright everyone! Settle down, it's time for class." said Icarus's first period teacher in her fake childish voice.
'She's always been a little quirky..' Thought Icarus, out of nowhere. 'But I do love Literature class, cause I get to read.'
"Get your books out and read your books for 10 minutes." Said the literature teacher.
Icarus got out his mythology book and turned to where he was re-reading. About Heracles (Greek name for Hercules [Roman name]) and Hesione. How Heracles killed the Serpent but didn't claim his wife and magical horses till much after his 12 labors were finished. He found himself lost in the pages of the detail from how Heracles shot his Hyrda-blood poisoned arrows to take down the serpent and how later he wrestled with Death himself. Just as he was getting to another good part, the teacher said, "Books away everyone!"

At lunch, Icarus gave a piece of his favorite dessert to Jason and another to Alcestis. Luckily, he was nice to everyone so no one seemed to notice that act of kindness except, of course, Alcestis's stalker, Nessuss. By stalker I mean total creep, compliments her, but embarrasses himself AND her in the process. He was the only other person, other than Icarus, that liked her. And Icarus completely HATED him. Utterly. After he had finished his lunch, he threw it away, ran like the wind to the ball basket, grabbed a dodgeball, and rushed back to the wall where Icarus and his friends play Butts Up.

(If you have not played this game, you need to. I don't have the time to explain it, but I love it.)

Later, during P.E., Icarus's class had to run the mile. He, of course, ran the fastest. Next was dodgeball, one of his favorite P.E. games. He would always dodge each ball thrown at him, even sometimes with grace. He didn't like complimenting himself, but everyone had to admit he was the best dodger in that game. Unless it came to when Alcestis threw the dodgeball. Icarus would always be amazed about the speed she threw it, the way it spiraled towards him in lazy, little circles. Then reality would hit Icarus, along with the ball. The breath would be knocked out of him as it hits Icarus in the chest. Though noone knew it, his only weakness was her, Alcestis.

Icarus and Jason were close cousins. By that, I mean they saw each other every single day of the week, even outside of school, except sometimes Saturdays. They always ate dinner at the other's house, had a sleepover every now and then, talked about random stuff, invented new ideas together, those sort of things.

Why am I telling you, you ask? You need to learn about the characters before I get to the interesting part. ;)

The same boring routine happened every day, reading, lunch, P.E., running, game, go home and role-play. More things were happening in the role play, though one of his friends, Poeas, was playing now, and was an interesting ally to have against the others. Poeas had made his character short, like Poeas himself, but very skilled with a mace. He had a short fuse and thought if he couldn't have it, nobody could. Even one of his allies.

Everything will come into play, just wait.

  2. Chapter Two

A long time after Poeas joined, the forums were beginning to crumble apart. People were complaining somehow there was lag from that forum that carried on to other forums and so on. Of course, it wasn't true. They just hated the forum for being so long, (Now about 4000 pages) the cry-babies complained to the moderators of the game, who looked through and said it was all fine. Yet the complaints didn't stop. They even made spam to try to bring the huge forum down. One moderator, who was a friend of Icarus's, Argus, silenced most of the complainers from the game and the complaints eventually slowed. This game was all Icarus could think of during the day. Well, other than Alcestis. He thought of good plots, greater weapons, and even better enemies.

Eventually, the developers of the game had to delete the forum that Icarus liked so much, because they couldn't bear the complaints. Icarus was so mad he almost cussed.

Soon after the thread was deleted, Icarus quit the game in all. He couldn't bear the mixed feelings of lurking all the forums at once, and not able to Roleplay. The creator of the old forum had tried to create a new forum, but it didn't work out nearly as well. Icarus went on walks, or more accurately, runs, more often. He ran further and further each time he ran, gaining stamina and speed.

Sorry, short chapter.. Writers block is coming on.. Anyways, action is about to pick up! Just needed to introduce people..
