  1. The sun was setting and skies were lightening up. The fiery red ball sank slowly down the skies into the distant hills. The skies were filled with hues of reds, pinks, oranges and purples. A slight breeze sprang up blowing across the grassy knolls. The tall elephant grass was swishing softly with the wind.

Nestled in the crook of a tree in a ghilli suite was Matt. His face was covered with a digicam facemask rendering him invisible. To the naked eye. Matt was wearing the latest 200m suite created by Mitsubishi Weapons Industry. The entire ghilli suit, facemask, jungle camoflage hat were all linked together with the latest nano fibers. These carried coolant which kept him cool and invisible to InfraRed vision. So not only was he invisible to the naked eye, he was invisible to equipment as well.

Matt is wearing his favourite Oakleys the latest from Oakley for snipers. It comes with Bluetooth 2.1 and it connects directly into his communication devices. He could hear the silent chatter of his team mates also hidden in the trees around him. His spotter Cow was near him adjusting his scope to better look at the target. Taking down readings and looking over all the figures which he had written down in his neatly spaced handwriting. Both Cow and Matts sunglasses start to scroll with letters and numbers. It's the coordinates of targets and placement of their team.

As the sun set, the shadows lengthened. The yellowed elephant grass was still shushing with the wind playing across their tops. The humming of insects and chirps of birds slowly died away. It was twilight. The sky clear and the stars peeping out twinkling in the gathering darkness. There was a lonely quarter moon giving out her silvery cold light. For an instant, there was utter silence. The silence deepened in the gloom of darkness.Slowly the incessant chirping of insects began breaking the silence of the wilderness. Small animals were coming out in the undergrowth. Nom nom nom went their chomping. Both Matt and Cow did not care what was happening. They had already place the electronic passive and active masks, which drive away insects and reptiles.

Cow continued observing the target. It was more than two miles away just one hill away from where they were. The area was camoflaged at the foot of the hill under giant angsana trees. No one could see the hideout from the air. They seemed to be using an active camoflage, which hid all infrared signals. Cow could barely make out figures walking here and there in the encampment. At his last estimate he put the number of people at around 50. He continued to jot down the figures into the battle comp. Matt continued to listen to songs from his Oakley as the comp on this sniper rifle kept being updated. He peered through his scope at the target area. He could see blobs of white man shaped figures walking around. His scope showed many crosses. Each of them lighting in turn as the readings came in from Cow's battle Comp. As the night wore on. Cow closed his scope and lay down to rest.
Both Cow and Matt were on a platform superbly camouflaged. Literally impossible to see from near, impossible to see from far. Their time of reckoning was coming. He set the alarm for 0300 and went to sleep in this sleeping bag, which fit him like a glove. It was only 2100hrs. Every one of the teams would take turns to sleep. Matt yawned but did not stretch. He knew that any awkward movements might break the camouflage patterning. He also pulled on his sleeping bag, he did not turn on any alarm, he knew he'd be instantly awake when the time came. He gave a last cursory check of his rifle and scope and nodded off to sleep.

The rifle Matt is using is a top of the line CheyTek M288. It's scope is a work of art. More expensive than the rifle itself. As the scope is used more and more the built in computer learns to recognize the users needs and automatically compensates for him. When a target is spotted by the spotter, one of the tiny crosses light up in the scope all the shooter has to do is shift the crosshairs onto the blinking cross and shoot. The system has never known to fail.

The target that they were awaiting would be arriving at the camp at 0430hrs. He was an agent from their company gone rogue two years ago when he failed to come back from a mission. He was presumed dead, but a month ago was sighted in France by the CIA. That agent was their best friend. Cow, Matt and that agent had been childhood friends. Both Cow and Matt were worried as they might not be able to take the shot when the time came.

  2. Cool two q is the sniper me???
Two u gonna make a feedback??

  3. Cow's glasses started scrolling with messages received the previous nite. Most were team chatter. What stood out was a short message. It read "Miss you, Summer :) "
He read it again. His heart lightened with joy. He thought about the days he had spent just a few months with her.
He remembered with a slow smile on his face all the good times they had at Monterrey Beach. It had been a great two weeks. The sun, the sea and the sand. They had held hands and walked the beach, picking up seashells, throwing seaweeds back into the rolling surf and picking up star fishes. They had lots of BBQ fish and shellfish, and had lain on the beach as the skies deepened into black and watched the starts twinkle in the skies.
It had been good times, he knew the moment he went back he'd bring her out to another destination. Niagara Falls maybe... Hmmmm...

  4. Matt could smell Cow, in fact both of them stank. They had not had a shower in 10-days. But it was comforting... He could always know who was around just by their smell and right now smelling Cow, he felt deeply comforted. He remembered his best friend Jackie. He wondered what she must be doing...

He had been checking his messages too. Nothing important. He remembered the last time he was home, he, Jackie and Keoni had taken a ride in a camper van.
He could still distinctly remember it.....

  5. Suddenly there was activity in the camp. Everyone is the camp started moving around, both Matt and Cow started receiving a lost of messages on their Oakley. Cow, looked through his scope and started to re-adjust all the readings and calibration. This was the time they had been waiting for. The time read 0430hrs.
Matt coolly looked through his scope as he made final adjustments to his rifle. He pressed a button the silencer slowly slid over his barrel. Enclosing the barrel which had many holes in it to allow the barrel to cool down after each shot.
The CheyTek M288 was semi automatic, so you could just basically shoot off all seven rounds quite quickly. No one knew why the magazine held 7-rounds, but on every magazine there were the numerals "777" Probably a lucky number.
