Chapter 1 It was a normal day for all the students at Hogwarts. They were all headed to their next classes. Everyone except for one, and that student was Draco Malfoy. He was running through the halls in search of someone to give a letter to. He knew Professor Snape would have him for being late to potions class, but he had to get this letter delivered as soon as possible. He could do the simple thing and send it by owl, but that would attract too much attention. Draco ran past a group of giggling Ravenclaws and saw him, that silly messy haired boy whom had stolen his heart. He ran up behind him and slipped the letter into his robe pocket and ran off towards the dungeons. Before he was out of hearing range he hollered to the boy, “Potter!” and ran off as he saw him turn around. He was almost late when he ran into the potions class and looks down as Professor Snape frowns at him. “Mister Malfoy, nice to see you finally joined us. Please, take a seat and open your book.” Class droned on and on and on as Draco thought about that messy haired Gryffindor. He hoped he would read his letter and meet up with him during their free hour. As class ended Draco gathered his things and headed out to his next class flanked by Crabbe and Goyle. The day slowly passed by and finally it came time for his free hour. ------------------------------------------------- Harry heard someone yell out his name and turned around as he saw Draco Malfoy running off. He smirked as he wondered what that sneaky Slytherin was up to. He walked into transfigurations and sat down in his seat next to his best friends, Ron and Hermione, as class began. He reached into his pocket to get out his quill and found a letter. He pulled it out and looked at it. The handwriting looked familiar, but Harry couldn’t quite figure out who’s it was. “What you got there, Harry?” Ron asked looking at the letter. “It’s a letter. Not sure who wrote it, but it’s addressed to me.” “Well then, are you going to open it?” “Yeah, I’ll open it. Just not now. Maybe later.” Class went on as Harry contemplated who the letter was from. He thought of the fact that Draco was there before class when the letter appeared. Finally, class ended and they headed off toward his next class. Harry walked into charms class and took notes. Half way through class, Harry looked at the letter again, still unopened, and raised his hand. “Excuse me, Professor, may I go to the restroom?” After having gotten permission, Harry ran off to the bathroom and opened the letter. As he read the letter he was shocked at what it said. Potter, I’m sure this has bothered you since you found it. It’s not like me to write letters to you, but I have to tell you something very important. Meet me in the Room of Requirement during our free hour and I will explain what I am saying. I hope you do come. I will be very hurt if you don’t, but I will understand. Please, do come. Sincerely, Draco Malfoy Harry read the letter over and over again and out the letter back in his pocket. He went back to class and said nothing to Ron or Hermione for the rest of class. As soon as charms was over, Harry went to potions. Potions class was just as difficult as ever. Professor Snape took points from Gryffindor and critiqued Harry’s potion horribly. Finally Potions was over and it was time for his free hour. Ron and Hermione waited for Harry to head to the library. “Hurry up, Harry, or there won’t be any good tables left when we get there,” Hermione said as Harry gathered everything. “Go on ahead without me. I have to go talk to someone before I head into there.” Harry watched Ron and Hermione walk off and headed into the opposite direction toward the Room of Requirement. When he got there he looked at the door for a few minutes before opening it. ----------------------------------------------------
