The Next 5-7 Years

  1. Hi forums, this thread can serve as a sort of time capsule in which to return to periodically

It has been shown that within a time span of 7 years, almost every cell/atom in the human body is replaced, aside from certain cells in the nervous system. Furthermore, in cells' attempts at staying alive, nearly every atom in the body is replaced.

A lot can change in seven years. Think about your life 5-7 years ago. Perhaps lots has changed, or maybe not. For people who were in middle/high school, the change must have been dramatic. For me, 5 years ago I was in grade 8. It seems crazy how much different things are. My values, beliefs, and even my personality are very different than they were then. When I look back at my old kaw messages or on my wall, these changes become even more apparent.

However, this thread is about the next 5-7 years. Where do you see yourself then? What would you want to say to your future self? What messages/values do you want to stay with you for your life? How have you changed in the past 7 years? How do you think you will change in the next 7 years?

  2. Where I would like to be is to be a programmer for a video game. However, in 5-7 years I don't think that will be. I will most likely be studying computer science and IT in college, whilst saving up enough to develop an indie title.

  3. Eating bacon at home in cause I have nothing better to do

  4. If you want to be a programmer be a programmer go pursue it buddy.

  5. I'll be playing the game ATA releases after KaW shuts down.

  14. I started journaling. I'm hoping I can make it a habit, so I can look back years from now to get a picture of my former self.

I used to journal a bit in high school and in my early 20s. Then I stopped for about 10 years. Now I have been at it again for the past month or so. Just looking back a few weeks is enlightening.

  15. Your my friend, no ifs ands or buts! Got it?

  20. As a programmer I'd say there's not much point to school for it. If you want the theory behind it you COULD go to school for 2 years or just read some books. Code academy is a great website to help teach you how to code.
Skill crush is also super helpful.

If you wanna code just code, school won't do much :p
