This story is dedicated to some of the best KaW writers, Bastion, Irin, Gloomi, and Izaln. The magic crystal In the magical world there is one ruler. That ruler wears the crystal of power around their neck. If one wears the crystal of power they become the most powerful person in the both the magical, and the human world. When the wearer of the crystal dies, they pass it on to their successor, and they inherit the ancient power. If the crystal should fall into the wrong hands, the results would be catastrophic. And many people, both guilty and innocent would die. ~ IN THE MAGICAL WORLD "Sarah, how could you?" asks Henry, bearer of the crystal, and ruler or the lands. "How could I what?" asks Sarah, his sucessor. Sarah batts her eyes and pretends to be innocent. Shoot! He's onto me! She thinks. "You know what! You will be in prison for a long time!" Henry shouts, enraged. How could she! I've known her for years and I've never suspected a thing, thinks Henry. Sarah's angelic face twists into an evil smile "I won't be in prison, I will rule the lands! And you won't be able to stop me because you will be dead." She taunts. Finally, my moment of power! She savors the thought. "I'm not dead yet!" he cried. Sarah throws a lightning bolt at him, which sucks out almost all of his strength. He falls to the ground in agony. "You see, without your petty crystal, you are no match for me!" Sarah takes the crystal from around his neck, and admires the beauty of it. With his last bit of strength Henry lifts his hands; he let's the magic flow out of him and into the crystal, and transports it. "No!" Sarah screeched. "My crystal! Where did you send it?" "The human world, you'll never find it now!" Henry says. Sarah calmly unseaths her sword and runs Henry through. She was not pleased. ~ IN THE HUMAN WORLD "Neat necklace!" compliments Cindy. "Thanks, I found it on the way to school today, at least one good thing comes from walking!" Kali says, rolling her eyes. "I especially like how the crystal kind of glows!" exclaims Alice. "We'd better hurry up, we're allready late for history!" Cindy reminds them. I wish we had more classes together, Alice thought, or atleast Cindy wouldn't keep reminding us that we were late, she wanted more time with her friends. "Nice of you to finally join us girls," Says Mr. Garliden. Ugh, Kali groans internally, I wish he's just give us a warning and send us on our way! "You know what? This time I'll give you a warning, sit down and listen girls, chop, chop!". Wow! Sweet! I wish; and he delivers! Kali grinned. If only she knew how true that was. ~ IN THE MAGICAL WORLD Sarah looked at herself in the mirror and admired her perfect fairy face. One thing must be set straight, for all of those humans reading this. Fairies do not have wings, and are not four inches tall. Those are sprites, fairies are generally three feet tall with childish faces. They are tricky, and, because of their child like features, others gennerally pity them. Sarah had figured out how to use this to her advantage, and it had gotten her out of more than one sticky situation. Now she planned to use it to persuade the elves and gnomes to join her in her fight for power. She would try and convince the dwarfs and sprites as well, but the dwarfs never came down from their mountain, and sprites had no magical ability, and were common thieves. (they likes shiney things, and would do anything to get them) "Talor, do you like this dress," said Sarah holding up a red dress with ruffles, "or this one." a sleek, black floor-length dress. Why does she even bother asking me! Talor, Sarah's servant thinks. She'll just choose the one she likes most anyway. "I like the red one." she says. "The black one it is!" she grins. Talor has no sense of style! Sarah thinks, well, what do you expect from an elf! Elf's are another species humans misunderstand. They are not short, they are actually the tallest species in the magical world. They grow to be about six feet tall, and have pointed ears. They are peace loving creatures, unlike fairies, who will do anything for power. That's why they have been the crystal bearers for generations. "I'm ready for my big speech." said Sarah, as she put on black opal earrings. "Talor, go fetch Bastion for me, will you?" Bastion enters a few minutes later, wearing his normal body guard outfit, black pants, black button down shirt. He had two swords, and a dagger, and many other wepons that were not visable. These were for her protection, Bastion was the best body gaurd there was, he was skilled with magic, a wepons master, and also an elf. "You called, mistress?" Bastion asks. "Yes, make the anouncement, and gather the city, I'm ready." ~ IN THE HUMAN WORLD "Hey, Kali cat!" calls Kali's dad. Ugh! I wish he would stop calling me that! Kali thinks, I'm much to old for that name. "I'm sorry, your too old for that name. Would you like an after school snack?" Her dad inquires. He always calls me that! No matter how much I complain. This is weird! "No thanks dad, I've got a lot of homework to do!" Kali admits and raced up to her room, deep in thought. Her algebra homework was just way too hard for her, she would ask for help, bit she was too stuborn. "I wish the problems would just solve themselves!" Shouts Kali, frusterated. She puts her head in her hands, and when she looks up again, her homework is all solved. Kali just stares, unbelievingly. I think I'll just take a shower. Kali thinks, refusing to believe her sometimes questionable eyesight. Kali pulled off her clothes, unhooked her new necklace, and hopped into the shower. The water was always to cold to be comfortable, so Kali says: "I wish that the water would be warmer." nothing happens. Kali got out of the shower, without conditioning her hair, and wraps a towel around herself. As she gets dressed she begins rambeling. "Of course I'm not magical, it was just wishful thinking! There is no possible way that I could have inherited magical powers! I mean it's not like I could wish for a random magical being to show up in my room-" Kali stops short, as a six foot tall girl with pointy ears has suddenly appeared in her room. ~
The magic crystal IN THE MAGICAL WORLD "As you wish, my lady. I shall gather the city." Bastion said. "Good, make sure everyones there, I want no one to miss my presentation." Sarah was planning to say a few words, in honor of Henry's death, and then tell everyone about his foolish mistake about how he put the crystal into the human world. Then everyone would want to help her find it. "They are ready for you." Bastion said. Sarah walked out onto her balcony, where she would begin her speech. "Welcome, elves, knomes, fairies. We gather here today to mourn the sad death of Henry, the ring bearer. He was very sick when he was going to pass the crystal onto me, and in a mistake he trasported it into the human world, and then-" Sarah screwed up her face like she was sobbing, "and then he d-died." There were murmurs of sadness in the crowd. "I am asking you all, to help me find the crystal, and those who do, will be greatly rewarded.". The knomes were suckers for rewards, so she knew she had pinned them, it was the elves that were tricky. "How do we know you won't betray us once you have the power of the ring in your hands?" asks a beautiful female elf, with brown hair and sad, yet fierce gray-blue eyes. "What is your name, elf?" Sarah asks. "Gloomi." she answers. "Well, Gloomi," Sarah stopped there, and shot a lightning bolt out of her finger. Just as it was reaching her, she disapeared, and Sarah's bolt crashed into the ground. People gasped, thinking she had made Gloomi disappear. Might as well go with it, thinks Sarah. "See what will become of those that defy me? They will be no more!" proclaims Sarah. Then a fairy steps out of the crowd. Great! Thinks Sarah, I thought they would want to follow me because we share a history of being put down by elves. Sarah slouches, this is not going well. "I will folow you." he says. Sarah stands up straight and stares at the fairy. She knew that voice. Although his hair is longer, it's still that same shade of blond, although his eyes are harder, and more defiant, they are still that bright blue. "You!" screeches Sarah. "Yes it is me, Izaln." "Brother." she growls. ~ IN THE HUMAN WORLD "Who the heck are you and what are you doing in my room!" Kali screeched, frightened. "I'm Gloomi, and where am I?" she wimpered. " "Apartment 420, upper level, in MY room!" "I'm so sorry, I don't have any idea where apartme-" she stopped, horrified. "I'm in the human world aren't I?" "You act like there is another world!" but then Kali noticed her pointed ears, POINTED EARS!!! "Where did you come from?" "I come from the magical city of Telmar, in the magical world, and now, since you have heard this, you will have to come back with me, and talk to the head of elves, Irin." "I'm not going anywhere with y-" she was cut off by a spring of magic bouncing into her stomach. "That hurts!" Kali exclaimed, she had been blown backwards, and was now sitting on her bed. That's impossible! Thought Gloomi. My magic is strong enough to knock out a human! "I wish that you wouldn't hurt me." Kali said, remembering her power. "Yeah, right!" muttered Gloomi. She waved her hands, but nothing happened. "How did you-" Gloomi started, but then she noticed the crystal around this humans neck. She stepped forward and tried to grab it. "Get your hands off of me!" Kali demanded. Gloomi couldn't stop herself, she pulled her hands back. The power of the crystal must be growing in this young one, there is nothing I can do, she is the new bearer. "Ok, there is something you need to know about that crystal around your neck, it holds all of the power in the human, and the fairy world, anything you demand, will happen, so be careful. Soon you will start hearing the voices of the past crystal bearers in your head, listen to them, they will help you learn your strengths." Gloomi told her. Kali nodded, it was all starting to make sense now, her father, and Mr. Garliden. It was the crystal, that's why it didn't work in the shower, she had taken it off. Hello, young apprentice. Kali heard. "What, who said that!" Kali cried, whirling around, but seeing nothing. Me, I am the old crystal bearer, and you can here me in your head. I will teach you how to controll the crystals powers. Gloomi sat down in a pink fuzzy chair, thinking: she's so untrained, the poor girl, this will take a while.
