This is a collection of short horror/mystery stories that don't always make sense, but are still creepy anyway. 1.True or False Anna woke with a start at the sudden noise, the thunder roaring through the night as rain pounded on the roof. She sat still in her bed, the lightning outside her bedroom window illuminating the room for half a second before plunging the place back into blackness. Laying back with a sigh, Anna closed her eyes once again, trying to sink back into sleep as the noise outside seemed to become louder and louder. As she turned om her side, another peal of thunder rammed through her ears, and as it faded away, a crash broke her eyes open. She spun her head to her door, which was closed to the outside hallway, a small crack the only thing combining the two. As she peered through the crack into the hall, another flash of lightning lit up the room. Silence reigned. Slowly getting up from her bed, Anna quitely walked to the door, opening it slowly. Looking out into the hall, she saw what made the crash. Her front door was broken in, the frame completly destroyed as the door lay in a crooked mess in the foyer. Causiously stepping forward, Anna whispered, "Hello? Is there anyone here?" No answer, just the sound of thunder. Turning to the kitchen to call the police, Anna stopped dead. A person stood in the doorway to the kitchen, a dark hood covering its face and a jagged knife in one hand. "Hello, beautiful," it said in a raspy voice, "what's your name?" Screaming Anna ran back to her room, the thunder echoing through the sky as she shut the door behind her and locked it. Running to her bed, she reached into the drawer and pulled out the gun that was kept inside. Turning around, Anna jumped and aimed it at what she saw. The figure stood in front of the door, the slab of wood completely destroyed, jist like the first one. With a trembling voice, Anna said, "stop." "Come now," the figure said, "do you really think you'll shoot me?" It took a step forward. "I said stop!" Anna said, the gun she was holding shaking more than her hands. The figure stopped, then reaching up, removed her hood. Smiling, she jumped forward, and the gun went off. "Well, Ana, I have to say that you handled that very well," the police officer said. "We had been tracking this man for a very long time and when we lost him, we thought he was gone for good." Ana looked up and nodded. "Well, have a good day, miss." The police officer patted her on the back then left, the house cleared of all yellow tape and CSI's. Walking back to the bedroom, Ana watched from the window as the cars pulled out of the driveway and went down the road. Turning around, she smiled and said, "Yes, officer, I will have a good day." Going to the closet, she pulled out a black hoodie and a blood-stained knife. End. I will write more as I think them up.
I'm confused... She killed a man which was herself but it was really a man that was her? So... She killed herself and then lived!?
