The Farmer’s Journey, Part 5: Apotheosis

  1. The murmur of life in the streets and alleyways of Magna Messor always carried an undercurrent of reverence, for the city was home to the holy seat of the Order.

The bright morning sun shone down upon the Archpantheon at Magna Messor. Its rays entered the great temple through an array of stained glass windows and warmed the cool autumn air inside its vast chapel, where the Order’s annual ceremony of investiture was underway.

Every seat of every pew was full. Soldiers, clergy, aristocracy, and specially invited members of the public had come to bear witness to the ceremony in devout silence.

At the front of the large chamber, six initiates who were to undergo full ordination into the Order sat on chairs in a semicircle behind a tall pulpit.

Conducting the service from behind the pulpit was High Redemptor Tynus, a wizened and white-bearded cleric whose soft, quavering voice battled against the wakefulness of those assembled:

“...for as St. Pillo said to the Kimorites: ‘All those who war shall pay a tithe unto Him, but the victorious alone shall reap,’ for in battle is found victory, and in victory are we brought nearer to Him...”

In an enclosed section reserved for royalty, important dignitaries and senior members of the army, The Mage stifled a yawn and turned his mind back to matters of war, while High Redemptor Tynus wheezed on.

It wasn’t until three quarters of an hour later that the Mage at last heard the High Redemptor say something that brought him back from his machinations:

“...who will now read to us from the Book of the Cosmos.”

With that, High Redemptor Tynus slowly turned and began shakily descending the steps of the pulpit. One of the initiates jumped out of her seat to offer him her arm, which he took with bad grace.

Once the initiate and the High Redemptor were both finally seated, a door at the right-hand side of the chancel opened. A woman in white and emerald silken vestments entered the chapel, carrying a small book.

The Mage smiled a rare smile as she ceremoniously ascended the stairs to the pulpit and placed the book on it. Opening the book, she looked up confidently at the assembled faithful.

“Good morning,” said the former acolyte to the congregation, “I will now read to you from the writings of St. Gustaive in the Book of the Cosmos...”

    Macrocosmic Tithe

As you complete Epic Battles from now and the end of the event on September 29th at 12PM PDT you'll earn Seasons Coins, Life Coins, Diurnal Coins, and War Coins. When you collect all four of these items they'll form Macrocosmic Tithes which determine your rewards at the end of the event.

As you win wars you'll earn completed Macrocosmic Tithes

    Weekend PvP Blitz

During the weekends of September 18 - 21 and September 25 - 28 we'll be hosting PvP Blitz events in a addition to the main event. During these Blitz events you'll collect and steal Zelantine Ichor items from players in order to earn Macrocosmic Tithes to help you with your progress in the main event. Every time you collect 500 Zelantine Ichors they'll be converted into a Zelantine Heart which cannot be stolen.

Rewards for these PvP Blitz Weekend events are based on the number of Zelantine Hearts you own.

    PvP Blitz Opt-In

To Opt-In to the event, players will need to cast the Beatific Portal spell at the Alchemist. NOTE: Beatific Portal will only be available to cast once the weekend event has started.

Warning: Opting-in lasts for the ENTIRE DURATION of that specific BLITZ EVENT and there will be no way to opt-out after doing so.

    Opted in players will:
    • Have their name colored orange to indicate their participation
    • Have a spell indicating their participation on their profile
    • Have their Battle List updated to show only players who have opted-in

    Zelantine Ichors + Hearts

Once opted-in, players will earn Zelantine Ichors by attacking other opted-in players. These items are both generated AND ARE STOLEN. The number generated depends on the players size. The number stolen depends on the amount of Zelantine Ichors they currently have. The higher the number they have the more you'll steal.

Once a player collects 500 Zelantine Ichor they'll automatically turn into a Zelantine Heart which cannot be stolen. These Zelantine Hearts are what will determine your rewards from the PvP Blitz Weekend events.

    Culling Sickle

When you hit another opted-in player there's a chance that the Culling Sickle spell is activated. This spell lasts for 24 hours, and has the following properties:
    • Provides you with more plunder when attacking or stealing from opted-in players
    • Allows you to obtain more Zelantine Ichors when attacking or stealing from opted-in players
    • Provides you with a chance of creating Mithril out of thin air when attacking or stealing from opted-in players
    • Will be visible on your profile as an active spell
    • CAN BE STOLEN when you are attacked or stolen from by opted-in players. If stolen you will lose the spell, and the attacking player will receive it. Duration is not reset when stolen but continues to count down from where it was for the previous owner.

Note: You cannot steal another player's Culling Sickle spell when you have an active Culling Sickle spell yourself.

    Exalted Almanack

The Exalted Almanack may be purchased in the Marketplace for 59 Nobility Points and casts the Gleaning Cycle spell on ALL of your current clan members. If you already have Gleaning Cycle active you will not be able to purchase it until the current spell expires.

This spell lasts for 1 hour and has the following properties:
    • Provides you with more plunder when attacking or stealing from opted-in players
(This is able to stack with the Culling Sickle spell)
    • Allows you to earn more Zelantine Ichors when attacking or stealing from opted-in players
(This is able to stack with the Culling Sickle spell)
    • Prevents other players from being able to steal your Culling Sickle spell while Gleaning Cycle is active
    • Will be visible on your profile as an active spell

    Thanatic Boon

As you complete Epic Battles you'll occasionally find Thanatic Boons. These rare chests can contain a number of goods including Health Crystals, Macrocosmic Tithe, Seals of the Damned, and more!

You can open these chests in one of two ways.
