  1. The eKAWnomy!

Greetings ladies gentlemen and others! I come to you today with an idea I've been thinking about for a little while. I've been looking at investing more money in stocks, when I thought to myself, " hey, this is kinda like kaw! ". If you agree with that statement, you're as stupid as I am, because they are completely different things and share almost no relation. But that got me thinking, why couldn't they be similar? Why couldn't we have an eKAWnomy of our own?
And so, because of this, I've decided to brainstorm a few aspects of this proposed ekawnomy, and I'd love to hear what you guys think!

    the clan corporations:

Clans are run like businesses, in that they aim to grow, become bigger and make everyone in them a lot of money. Plus some crap about loyalty and family yadayada. Big clans have subs, like subsidiary companies of a larger company, and a bunch of companies that are part of a corporation, somewhat like a big alliance (eg; zaft, apoc, UC etc.).

So here's what I'm thinking, why don't we treat clans a little like corporations? Have a leaderboard of the higher ranking clans of kaw, and based on strength, lb position and the like, they receive a ranking. This would be sort of like the stock market of kaw. Being a part of a clan or corporation of clans would enable you to receive the benefits of being part of said alliance. This encourages loyalty to your clan, as well as giving a bonus.

In addition, there would also be a feature which allows you to purchase stocks in clans and alliances. This could be done through purchases with gold, with the minimum purchase price growing higher as the ranking of clans increase. For each stock purchased in a Clan or alliance, the value of said clan would be increased. In addition, each stock sold would decrease the value of the clan. The stock you purchase would give you a bonus, just like being part of a higher ranking clan would.

"But Farr, what bonuses are these?" You ask tentatively, awed by my genius. I'll tell you what those benefits are!

    the benefits:

For being part of a clan:

Being part of a clan that ranks on the market would give you a bonus of gold. This could be a physical gold bonus at a set amount or a plunder bonus, which increases or decreases dependant on your clans ranking and your own ranking within the clan. For example, the largest member of a clan receives more than the smallest. In the same way, the highest ranked clan will receive more than a lower ranked clan. This bonus would be awarded at the end of each month as a sort of dividend. However, to prevent abuse of the system, your clan will not be counted if it moves more than 20 ranks higher in the last two days before the dividends are awarded.

For being a stock holder in a clan:

Being a stock holder of a clan would give you a percentage increase on the gold you put into said clan as it grows or remains high ranking. For example, if you bought stocks in the fifth ranked clan, and it grew to the second ranked clan, your stock value would increase by a fair amount when sold. However, when a clans ranking goes down, your stock value will decrease at a similar rate to increase. This ads an element of risk. Should a clan stay at the same rank for the month, your stock value will increase by 50% (arguable) of what they would were the clan to gain one spot in the ranking system.

    a potential stock holder?

Don't worry PvP players, I know what you're thinking. Yes I am, but I am out of your league. But seriously, you're probably thinking "Now this is all well and good, but where's the benefit for us?". A fair question, as most updates and ideas are focused less and less on PvP as time goes on. That's why the bellow ideas would be implemented In the idea also.

    the PvP bonus:

Now I like PvP, and it frustrates everyone that it's so often swept over by eb updates. That's why there are these benefits to the eKawnomy.

    the hostile takeover:

The hostile takeover is an OSW update which is designed to give some power to those marauding bands of scallywags who like nothing better than farming and causing mayhem. In the hostile takeover, a clan may declare OSW on another clan officially, and it need not be accepted. However, should the clan that has been declared OSW upon by another clan drop ranking considerably, the difference in the bonus of gold/plunder that would have been received will instead be given to the opposing clan. For example, let's say the number one clan has a smaller clan declare OSW on them. They don't sweat it. They wake up the next day and find half the clan naked and they're ranking dropped by 30 ranks. Their gold/percentage bonus drops from "x" to "considerably less than x". The percentage drop that the clan received will now be awarded to the clan who destroyed the number one clan, if the clan remains at the low ranking by the end of the month. To prevent abuse, the OSW cannot be officially declared within two days of the deadline. In addition to a clan being the victim of a "hostile take over" they may also find the value of the stocks they invested in the clan severely dropped. This causes them to lose a significant amount of gold they had invested, which allows further damage to be done to the clan.

a demonstration of some of the more 'convincing' takeover strategies.

    the "war reparations" ceasefire agreement:

A clan may decide that enough is enough, and beg for a cf from an official OSW. The clan farming them may then declare that the ceasefire terms are that "x" percentage of the bonus awarded to a clan must be given directly to the clan farming them, for a period of up to "x". This will be limited at around one year to prevent massive abuse. To prevent abuse from clans sharing their percentage bonus, a clan must drop by at least 4 ranks in the stock market for the effect to take hold.

As you can see, numbers and projections and other business crap.

    TL;DR version:
Make clans more like companies and have a stock market and stuff.

So, these are my ideas to help kaw become a little more fun. People are getting bored, add in an entirely new element that could change things drastically for the better. I'd love to hear your thoughts and feelings on the idea, so please do post some bellow! Support or no support, I'd like to hear any reasons. If you don't like it, why? Is there something specific or the whole idea in general? If you do like it, would you want it implemented?

Thanks for sticking with me through the thread, and thanks for reading! Farr out :)

  2. Also, thanks to rikki and zag for teaching me about pictures, and to ashes and destroyer of worlds for pictures! :)

  3. Wow nice read gj

  4. Oh and support*

  5. Your gifs and presentation are grade A. I support this thread

  6. Thanks Robyn and Biro!

  7. So you want to pretty much completely change KaW.

  8. Because this is a 9 game and they wouldnt understand 

  9. ****. Good read. I liked it tbh XD

  10. It would be a big leap, but the thing is it's not something you have to participate in. An idea I didn't mention was the ability to choose not to list your clan on the market. Unless you actively enter into the market and buy, it wouldn't affect you overmuch.

  11. As for nine plus and not understanding, couldn't you say the same about ally trading and build mechanics? It's a complex game, but if they're able to handle those, I believe that an eKAWnomy isn't a massive leap in contrast.

  12. Devs won't make money, so it won't get added.

    But support none the less.

  13. Interesting point about the devs not making money. When you think about it, this could make them money long term. Clans would try and grow quicker to raise the gold received from dividends, thus more nobility and crystals would be purchased. Another idea could be the requirement of an entry pass to have your clan listed.

  14. Great thread my friend.

  15. I like the idea but big clans will just start new clans buy all stock with one clan member in their and then all move there and move it up the rankings exponentially increasing their gold then sell all stock and repeat process and profit out of it by abusing the system I personally like the idea but it's just going to make the rich richer and the poor struggle more

  16. I was initially intrigued by this idea, but soon myself scrolling through the text to see the next pictures. Never did go back and read what I scrolled through.

Support for the awesome pictures 

  17. Thanks darmen! Haha glad you liked em breezy.

Princess; this is a very valid issue. However, to counter this there could be some rules set in place. Eg; at least 20 percent of the stock must be owned by clan members, so a loss will be made for scamming.
