  1. Short story

Dedicated to danboy420, who wanted me to write even when I didn't want to. Thanks Dan. Good luck with life since you don't play anymore. Don't forget all the fun

Fires burn. Hell itself overflows with the souls of the damned. War wages. Countless lives lost. Trillions spent. Power and prestige won and lost like poker chips on a Sunday night. The giants battle it out over petty differences. Feared faces loose their presence. All because of a war. A simple war. One that could have been avoided. But alas. It was not to be. The cause. Not a skirmish. Not hatred. But one man. A man with seemingly no power. A man who had no wish for the war. But a man who wouldn't let himself be controlled. This man was John. And today he speaks before the judges to state his story and to decide his fate. Eternal life wandering the ruined kingdoms as punishment. Or an eternity of happiness for helping push forward fate in the way it was meant.

John- "It all started a while back. I was gathering my friends and my allies. We were going around getting revenge against those who had caused us grievances. Nothing major. But one day it all changed. We all gathered to fight a larger fight then normal. It would lead to several more like it and a hatred so great that it would lead to us siding with another enemy against the ones who harmed us. But then the aligned enemy took it another level. We removed ourselves but the damage was done. Our former friends were going to battle. A battle of the ages. One that contained almost half of the superpowers of our day. One that wouldn't be seen again for eons. Or so we thought. Just a few weeks later. As we prepared ourselves for war. Another fight breaks out. A fight between the oldest of the giants, Zarthon, and the remaining powers of the world. The elf alliance. The humans were all busy fighting in the war we had helped begin. The giants were gathered under Zarthon's banner. They went to war. The elfs tried to stand fast yet couldn't keep up with the experience of the oldest of the races. We were in awe of the power of both sides. We were nothing to either of them. Yet one day. The elfs sent raiders to destroy one of our villages. We were the leaders of the free world, the last neutral human alliance, some battled mystical monsters for a living. Some held small battles or trained. Some of us tried to away the human wars. Or sway the war of giants and elves. The raid on us led to us deciding the time had come. Humans would rule the world. The giants were not actually giants but the former leaders of humanity granted immortality for their deeds. Together we would rid the world of the elves. Together. Humanity would rule. We gathered a small band of our forces to lead the charge. It proved meaningless and they were called back. Weeks later we had formulated a plan. Humanity was still in a civil war. So we gave the nudge. The newer side of the humanity war, the ones formed from the ashes of the past wars. Were going to be forced to war the giants. Forcing them to work with the elves. With that. The ancient human armies. Ones that had fought with the giants in the past would once again align themselves with the giants. Then. The free world would join the war. Dragging the one power remaining. The rain empire, into the war. We would help the giants and ancients destroy our enemies. And we would then have a world of peace. Or so we thought. The plan worked. It worked too well. The gods were displeased. They implemented changes. The mystical monsters many fought for a living would fight back. Loosing to one meant your village was destroyed. A 25 billion dollar cost. It was disastrous. Without warning the change caught many clans unaware. All of the powers destroyed. All of the world. Stuck without a home. Then. The gods made a new law. We could do nothing without war. So war broke out again. I decided to gather my forces and defy the gods. We burned their temples. We massacred all who did their dirty work. We survived the first year. And the law was repealed. We began to rebuild. Always weary. Always ready. Then, my forces grew restless. "We are the strongest. Let us kill or absorb all others then destroy the gods once and for all". I was weak. I had lost many friends to the evils of the gods of our kingdoms. So I agreed. We went to war. Day by day hundreds joined my army. Day by day thousands met our swords and spears. Then the final battle came. The gods offered a peace deal. "All the potions and xtals you ever use will be free". I spat on their shoes and attacked. We won that day. But only a few survived. My third in command, Dan, was lost , his wife had called him home and a meteor destroyed his home, fired from the gods to spite me. Myself, my second Jim and a few others knew we'd never rebuild our scorched earth. So we burned it. All of it. Hell itself began spewing out souls as all of our former comrades and victims were sent to its pits. Hell was never meant to handle such large amounts of dead at once. Today I speak before you not to be forgiveness. But to she's hope. After the fires went out I planted the seeds of all the original plants once again. We may no longer exist but the world will survive. Humanity's time has ended. But Earth, she is alive and strong. She failed with us. So I gave her other chance. Evolution will take its role and well see how she can evolve without the control of the gods"

I apologize for any mistakes made here in grammar or spelling. This is the first story I've written for fan fic in a long time. And first on this account. I may write more maybe not. Dan said I should so I did in honor of his retiring from kaw. This story is about something see if you figure it out. Post thoughts and such here. I won't have a thread about reviews nor will I continue this story.

  2. Use paragraphs next time plz...

  3. Great adventure story. You will be missed Dan

  4. Oh, my.

Your sentences are unique, short and choppy. Like waves crashing down upon sand, almost. But what can I say? This was… a powerful retelling. I noticed, by the way, but I won't ruin it.

  5. Ill fix some of the punctuation. I wrote it on a device where comas didn't work. Ill have my computer alt post the story. To give a hint. Only the first half of the story is related to things that have happened. The second half is a possible future

    Thanks for the reviews
