The Circus of Dreams: A Creative Writing Exercise

Discussion in 'Fan Fiction' started by -DaveStrider-, Sep 11, 2012.

  1. Here in the circus of dreams, each act gets it own tent. The aim of this exercise is to create a unique tent. It can be anything from a maze made of cookies to a funhouse where the mirrors actually change your appearance. Try to be as creative as you can, and please don't steal others' ideas.

I will edit in an example later when I have time. Until then, if you don't understand, wait until I have the example. I will try to get on every other day or so and keep an updated list of the tents. In two weeks or so, hopefully we'll have a whole circus ready to go!

  2. Reserved for the list

  8. A tent in which your body becomes contorted and messed up.
Your head would be wear your stomach is and stomach where pelvic are is your eyes one on each knee your ears on the end of your arms a hand on your head.... This should be different for each person

  9. My tent...

You enter a dim, dusky tent with old, rickety wooden tables, desks, stools, and chairs, and every available surface is covered with seemingly empty glass bottles. These glass bottles are corked with old, dusty corks, sealed by wax as it nobody has opened them. Seemingly empty, they're light and easily shattered. However, when you uncork a bottle, a sound or a smell comes out. This sensation is so strong, it seems real. The smell can cause you to remember something, and can trigger specific memories that nobody ever knew about. The sound can do the same thing, and also can cause emotions you tried to bury. Only found by people who need it, there are never two people in the tent at the same time. Every experience, from person to person, is always different, and nobody ever finds the tent again.

  10. My tent:
You walk into a tent with all sorts of candles, mats, and wooden planks. With mediation, you see images of impossible combats, scenes, and lives of past, present, and future lives. One, you may witness the life of a ancient Scottish warrior who was your ancestor, another you may see the life of your cousin, another, you might see a descendant of your own as a space pilot... No two people see the same images as each other, and only one person may enter at a time without the very makeup of the universe will rip, resulting in the end of time

  11. My Tent:

As you step inside this large and outlandish looking tent, you feel a prick in your neck. Taking a step back, you look and see that a needle had stabbed you! Raising a hand to your neck, then in front of your eyes, you saw your own crimson red blood on your fingers. To your amazement, the blood flew forward and into a large metal cauldron.

More and more needles went in to your body. The last thing you remember before fainting is seeing a crazed, crimson haired woman standing over you, blood dripping from her lips.

  12. Not dead. Just having your blood humanely harvested by a kind of crazy vampire. You survive. :)

  13. Do you become a vampire?

  14. Ha ha I get last post

  15. No, you don't -.-

  16. My Tent

As you approach this plain, dusty brown tent in the sea of colourful, vibrant circus tent, you get a sense of awe. On a small post a few mere inches from the opening, sits a sign that reads, "Let Your Imagination Run Wild~" A small heart sits in the bottom right corner.

Once inside, you discover that it's as plain and boring as the outside. But, what is that in the back? A small... door? As you creep up to it, a feeling of lust and greed overtake you. You start to tremble. A small card lays atop the closed door, and, written in beautiful cursive, lies the words, "You Shouldn't Have Done That~" No heart at the bottom. No nothing. Except, a small drop of blood. In sudden fright, you drop the card, your heart racing.

The feeling of fright doesn't stay, seemingly to instantly be replaced by the urge to open that door. And so you do.

What awaits you inside depends on your personality. But, no matter who you are, there will be a thin, light brown cat inside. A top hat will sit casually atop it's head, and a deep purple collar will hang from it's neck.

If you try to touch this cat... Well, lets just say that "You've Met A Terrible Fate, Haven't You?" 
