Chapter 3 Bruno followed Omix out the door into the backyard. There was a girl about the age 15 (the same age as Bruno) with long dark hair and green eyes the same shade as Omix's. He watched as she rained blow after blow with her sword on the training post. Backhand, sidearm, overhand feint, thrust! The
Her sword bit deeply into the post and stuck from the last strike. "Who is that?" asked Bruno. "That is my daughter Chloe." said Omix. He called her over. She yanked the sword out of the post, sheathed it, and walked over. "This is Bruno Rhosmoth. His village was overrun and he will be staying with us as I teach him the magical arts." said Omix. "I would like you to show him to the guest room." "Ok." Chloe replied. She led him to the room. Bruno noticed that at fist she seemed very skinny, she was actually very muscular and probably had high physical ability. "Here is your room." Chloe said and then turned and walked away. The room was small, but seemed inviting. There were two trunks in the corner and Bruno saw that one of them was locked. There were also a small bookshelf
and a bed. Hanging from the ceiling was an unlit oil lamp. The unlocked trunk was empty so Bruno unpacked his bag and put it and his possesions in the trunk. He went to Omix's room, eager to start training, but Omix sent him down to the river as it was dinner time. As he walked down to the river, Bruno couldn't help but to notice that Chloe was practicing swordfighting again. Thwap, thwap, thwap, thwap!
Bruno kneeled at the bank of the river and washed his hands and face. He sat back and watched a beaver building it's den. Then, Chloe walked out of the woods to the river with a bow and a quiver of arrows. He watched as she released 3 shots in quick succesion into the river. She dived in after 3 dead fish. His jaw dropped at her amazing shooting ability and he walked back to the house. He helped Omix collect firewood. Omix pointed the hand that had a bracelet with one large emerald in it. A small fireball flew from his hand and lit the pile. "Whoa! Will I be able to do that?" asked Bruno. "Ha, ha, ha!" Omix chuckled. "All in good time boy, all in good time." They set the table and cooked the fish Chloe had caught. They ate a silent dinner. The fish was great nevertheless. Afterward, they went back to their rooms. Bruno lay in his bed, drowsy. He fell asleep wondering if he had made the right choice in staying. End of chapter 3 new update soon! TO BE CONTINUED...
