The third story of my series starts at the five year war school graduate reunion. This is a very important and highly celebrated event because, sadly, many of the soldiers do not make it till now. I had taken over as leader of the purple squadron as the head of that squadron was killed during the battle of Z'uthmerak. We were all partying and drinking and having a great time when the doors burst open and the second-in-command of elite squadron four came running though... "Help!" he gasped "My troops were exploring the South-Western woods when we were ambushed by..." and he fell dead on the floor. As you can expect, this instantly killed the party. As the leader of our lead squadron, I made the decision to lead us and my old green squadron to fight whoever killed the elite four's. I was frightened, because elite four was the second-highest ranked squadron in the kingdom. So us and green squadron left Zepthia and headed off towards the forest. ************************************************ We were exploring the forest when we came to a lake. Out on the lake, though the mist, we could see an island. It was starting to grow foggy now and I was starting to think we should go back when there was a scream that I will remember forever. Suddenly, there was a horde of ghosts, swirling around us, picking up soldiers at random and killing them. We were frightened at first but we soon started to fight back. It was slow going but we finally managed to destroy the ghosts. They seemed to have came from the island but there was a invisible barrier that was keeping us from getting there. One of my soldiers spoke up and said "sir! I was trained some as a wizard before becoming a soldier. I could block the seal long enough for you all to get though." Suddenly, there was another scream. "hurry!" i said and told the rest of my soldiers to try and protect him. ************************************************ we managed to hold them off long enough for my wizard to break the seal. We all climbed though while destroying the remaining ghosts. The island was now open to all. We started into the island to try and find the leader. He was obviously the leader as he was wearing a crown and fancy robes. He casted a spell but our wizard destroyed it easily. He cast three spells but they barely slowed us down. We continued to case him deeper and deeper into the island. Just as we began to catch up with Apheriun, he disappears into the forest. I then put the scout up front to track Apheriun and catch up. He threw up another, more powerful seal out but we broke though and caught up in what turned out to be a ceremonial ground. We attacked but he had an impenetrable shield around himself. We found that if you hit him when his shield is off, he is very vulnerable. It was hard going but I finally stabbed him successfully in the head. We arrived back home with honors for defeating Apheriun and saving thousands of lives.
@ - MRU yup. It is not to close to the actual eb but I tried to make the story better. It isn't easy to write a story about a series of epic battles in KaW
No no no all wrong... He was trained as a mage not a wizard! and he worked as an alchemist for the army lol.
