Well I dusted this off last night and took it for a spin... After remembering to reprogram my camera for the time difference and a lot of fine tuning I was able to spot Jupiter These pictures were taken with an iPhone6 .. The dot you see just up and left is actually a moon on Jupiter - what I actually see through the scope is 4 moons out of 57(??) that Jupiter has. Anyhow, happy kaw'ing and keep looking up at the skies!!
Point is ... Hobbies I should add a thread was made about this sometime ago where people could post their hobbies and get inspired to look at the stars
I'm not seeing why this thread can't be made, it's in off-topics. God forbid someone talk about something that doesn't interest you Now let's see the rings of Saturn!!! :3 ...or is that not possible?
I'd imagine you would have to have a rather powerful telescope. You'd have to get the aperture just right as well, light is tricky.
That's pretty awesome. Personally, I am always interested in other people's hobbies. Especially space and astronomy. I could look at telescope pictures all day, and have. I'm more into growing stuff and bird watching as hobbies, but I enjoy checking out other people's interest. I think I'm becoming a hippy or something. I'm getting ready to set up a hydroponic system for tomatoes, maybe ill be able to share the setup someday soon. I'm on the third generation of a plant I got off some old farmer. Hopefully it changes into something awesome! I going to try attracted Orioles and Hummingbirds this spring and summer. It's risky with the cat I have roaming around, but it's getting old a fat. Thanks for sharing. If the thread lives on, I'll be back.
