It is clear that the SOS Has an adverse effect on the plunder for hansel builds. I am just curious if the same holds true for an attack build. Does the same rule apply?
In a war situation, the closer you are in strength to your target, the less money you earn. LaW awards audacious behavior by awarding larger sums of money to players who take risks attacking those who are stronger than them selves. Hope this answers your question.
Not really... I'm trying to figure out if building an SOS will decrease my plunder.... even though I'm not a hansel. I've heard mixed stories so I'm just trying to understand the truth before proceeding.
Mmmmm......interesting. Honestly, the devs don't really give out their game formulas, so we are all reduced to guessing and experimentation. I'm not surprised that you received conflicting answers, and I have no real answer for you either. I'd recommend running your own experiment and recording your results. That being said, I don't really care for mixed builds. I think they make you vulnerable to farming, but that's just my 2 cents worth.
The answer is yes. Plunder will decrease. Steals however, go up if target is equal or higher in stats.
There's some special rule, like if 2/3 or more of your buildings are SOS's, plunder does not decrease, but you'll have to look it up. ~daT.
Dat is right. Though I only have 5 SoS level 2's out of 25 buildings, and my plunder didn't change at all...
@op See? Everyone has their own ideas. You will find no consensus here. Lol Best you experiment and see what you find. It's the only way you'll know for sure. ;-)
I am not an attack build so I don't know for sure. But I have read that if you have less than 1/3 of your build as spy buildings, SoS will actually increase your plunder. But once you have more, SoS will drop your plunder. I assume this information was provided from players that tested it on PWars though, and not EBs. As hansel though, my friends plunder started to go up after he converted his 15th out of 30th building (which is 50%) and he tested on an OSF. My hybrid build on the other hand.. My plunder started to increase at my 16th out of 37 buildings (which is 42%) but I tested on The Haunting. So I've no idea what the equation is, if there is any.
Yep it's pretty crazy. Another weird thing is when upgrading to Level 2 and Level 3. I have heard some players recommend others to always build their SoS straight to Level 2, and not leave it at level 1. They claim you get more stats and plunder for their money.. But when I was a pure guild hansel and I built my first few SoSs, I actually found that Level 1 SoS had the best plunder, and it went down when upgraded to Level 2, and down again when it was Level 3. But now with my current build, I had found that plunder dropped when I built a level 1 SoS. When upgraded to a Level 2 it dropped A LOT. Then when I upgraded to Level 3 it'd go up, but it would still be lower than Level 1. It's so very confusing.
Of all the players I have talked to, melon probably has the best grasp on game mechanics. I've never gone wrong with her advice. She's probably your best bet.
Hmm so SOS in a build with CoE and other t4 buildings would still increase plunder if you could fine the right mix of lv and amount?
