Hey guys, this is just to discuss the State of the Union address, as well as the Republican Response, which just ended. You can probably find it on CNN (or other news agency's) app or website. I liked Obama's speech, but I think he spent too much time talking about the recovery and how great America is. I liked Obama's speech much better because he went into the details, and also because the Republican Speech was like a google translate robot speaking at 40 words/minute smiling widely. Edit: I will be changing OP topic as discussion evolves.
Re: State of the Union Address i'm kind of annoyed that i missed it. not feeling great today and it slipped my mind.
Re: State of the Union Address Nice articulate well thought out refutationyour brain working overtime this morning
Re: State of the Union Address You didn't really miss anything. The press had excerpts of the addresses key points since this morning. Maybe earlier.
Re: State of the Union Address Obama forgot the middle class economics that works: More workers, less looters. Expects everyone to sing koombaya over protests, yet ignores the people that burned down their employers businesses.
Re: State of the Union Address Lol. I listen to Sean hannity , he tells me what to think so I repeat things he says and I think I'm smart.
Re: State of the Union Address Looting, while obviously terrible in and of itself, not to mention that it occurred in exploitation of an important protest, doesn't feel like one of the most key issues facing America. Equality for millions, does.
Re: State of the Union Address Thought what he said about veterans was good. Can't believe he asked for control over foreign trade. Didn't mention the constitution one time that i heard.
Re: State of the Union Address The Constitution is a centuries old dusty faded document, which we've had to amend many times in order to make it passable. Heck, free speech wasn't even in it. Needed a Bill of Rights for that.
Re: State of the Union Address The constitution has protected our rights from the government for over 200 years, and while they are quickly eroding, it still stands as the ultimate law in the lands.
Re: State of the Union Address It set the foundation for all of government. Have you ever read the constitution? Article 1 section 1 go.
Re: State of the Union Address Smidge over 200. Law of the land? 3/5ths Compromise? Fugitive Slave Clause? Not including Judicial Review? All the amendments it forgot? *I have read it. It's an extraordinary document, but not the golden herald of liberty written by the hand of God, that some would think it to be.
Re: State of the Union Address Honestly I read these comments, and I pictured most of you as old ass dudes sitting around a table yelling at each other about politics. It made me chuckle.
Re: State of the Union Address I picture you as a smart ass that has no idea of the world outside of your narrow perception of reality based on a iPhone mmorpg.
