Starfall: Rush for the Shards

Hello all,

We’re thrilled to see that so many of you are enjoying our latest event, Starfall: Rush for the Shards. We understand that a PvP focused event has been on your wishlist for a long time and we’re glad to be able to make it a reality.

We’ve heard some concerns over the intensity of the event. Being our first ever PvP event there’s definitely room for us to improve.

For this event we’re going to be making the following changes:

• Event duration has been reduced from 2 weeks to 1 and now ends at 12pm PST on 11/28
• The number of Shards required for each reward are halved
• There will now be an ability to opt-out of this event (see below)

Opt-out Method:
Those not wishing to participate in the event must purchase Starfall Opt-Out Token from the Marketplace for 1 Gold and then cast a special “Starfall Opt-Out” spell at the Alchemist. Doing this will remove ALL Shards from your inventory, and prevent you from both hitting other players and being hit for the duration of the event. It will also prevent you from being able to join wars, and cannot be cast while in an active war.

NOTE: This opt-out method will be implemented ONLY during this event. Moving forward, we will be looking at ways to better facilitate all players in future iterations of this event.



A meteor formed of purest Thaumalite has burst over the kingdoms. Armies from every nation are now rushing forth to recover fragments of the precious mineral.

From now until 12PM PST on December 5th plunder and steal Shards from enemies and be first to unlock the unstoppable power of Thaumalite...

[title2]Thaumalite Shards[/title2]

Those logging in today (11/21/2014) will receive a one-time starting bonus of 50 Shards. Then for the duration of the event, every day you log in you'll receive an additional 10 Thaumalite Shards.

Note: These login shards only apply to accounts created before the start of the event (11/21/2014)

When you attack or steal from other players, you will also have a chance of stealing Shards. The number you receive is based on your relative build size (ex: Attacking smaller players will earn you less, and attacking larger players will earn you more) as well as the number of Shards they have.

[title2]Fortuna Blade[/title2]

When you attack or steal from another player, there's also the chance of activating the Fortuna Blade spell. This spell lasts for 24 hours, and has the following properties:

• Provides you with more plunder when attacking or stealing from other players
  (This does not take effect during wars)
• Allows you to steal more Shards when attacking or stealing from other players
• Provides you with a chance of creating Mithril out of thin air when attacking or stealing from other players
• Will be visible on your profile as an active spell
• CAN BE STOLEN when you are attacked or stolen from by other players. If stolen you will lose the spell, and the attacking player will receive it. Duration is not reset when stolen but continues to count down from where it was for the previous owner.

Note: You cannot steal another player's Fortuna Blade spell when you have an active Fortuna Blade spell yourself.

[title2]Astral Glim + Astral Ward[/title2]

Astral Glim can be purchased in the Marketplace for 59 Nobility Points and casts the Astral Ward spell on ALL of your current clan members. If you already have an Astral Ward Spell active you will not be able to purchase it until the current spell expires.

This spell lasts for 1 hour and has the following properties:

• Provides you with more plunder when attacking or stealing from other players
  (This is able to stack with the Fortuna Blade spell)
• Allows you to steal more Shards when attacking or stealing from other players
  (This is able to stack with the Fortuna Blade spell)
• Prevents other players from being able to steal your Fortuna Blade spell while Astral Ward is active
• Will be visible on your profile as an active spell

[title2]Rewards[/title2]
Based on the number of Thaumalite Shards you have at the end of the event at 12PM PST on December 5th you'll receive the rewards below. (Rewards do not stack)

Spectral Lanterns allow you to cast Astral Ward on your clan at a time of your choosing which will provide 100% Bonus PvP Plunder for 1 hour. Again this does not take effect during wars.

The equipment rewarded from this event is the first EVER to provide a permanent PvP Plunder Bonus*. Because of this, these pieces of equipment require Aqua, Inferno, and Mithril to enchant, and can fail.

*This PvP Plunder Bonus DOES NOT take effect in wars.
