The Fan Fiction section is rapidly becoming more and more popular, so I figured I'd give a few pointers to anyone hoping to start their own story, or those who are having trouble keeping up. 1. Where to post your story As most of you know, the best place to post your story is the Fan Fiction section of the forums. It was created for that purpose. Although early stories were posted in the Off Topic section, it now moves too fast for anyone to really see it. 2. It isn't always easy Although when you read a story, or see others rapidly update their own stories, it may look easy to you. But let me tell you, it's not as easy as it looks. The original spark of imagination that started the whole story can quickly run out, and you may find yourself in a rut. Countless stories have started out strong, only to die after a few posts. Whatever your story throws at you, always remember to NEVER GIVE UP. 3. Make a feedback thread If your planning on taking your story seriously, it's always a good idea to make a seperate feedback thread, for people to make comments/suggestions for your story. That way most people will make their comments there and allow your story to flow without interuption. 4. Listen to your feedback Being open to new ideas is always useful in the world of writing. You can get alot of good suggestions put of the feedback your story gets. You can sometimes even get some help if your stuck at a certain point, or in need of characters. 5.There's always a troll under the bridge No matter what you do, there will always be someone that will post directly on your story. If this happens, try not to make a huge deal out of it. I reccomend that you just leave the comment, and not further interrupt your story. If that person posts again, ask them not to post on the story thread again. If the problem persists, I would contact admin, they are usually very helpfull. 6. Speed and grammar Tips As almost all KaW players know, the iPod keyboard can be a pain to type on, especially long posts. Although the spell check is useful, it isn’t perfect. I suggest that you link your KaW account to a computer, and use some text device (ex: Word) to type up your story, and then simply copy and paste it to the forums. To those that write it by hand, or on computer and email it to their iPod, this can also help remove a lot of hassle usually created by having to transfer new posts. I hope you find this guide useful, and look forwards to seeing more new stories. More suggestions and editing will be added later on. Re: Seth73's Guide to Writting I like the "it isn't always easy" section. It's SO TRUE!!! But, my story battle camp didn't run out of creative juice until the middle of the enemy. I think the key to keeping up your creative juices is to envision an exciting ending. That way you'll want to keep writing to get to that exciting ending. At least that's what I do.
Re: Seth73's Guide to Writting Hmm excelent suggestion. Ill make a few edditing changes and add some more tips now.

Funny thing...I've never used copy/paste or even written a chapter before-hand....it's off the top 'o my head. :0
