Sell all, tutorial, roadmap... - Where are you devs ???

Discussion in 'Off Topic' started by lIlDlRIilZlZIYlIl_tHe-VALkyrIE, Jun 6, 2016.

  1. Why isn't there an option to sell all potion yet ? Devs been focusing on promo but not on how to make kaw easier to use - thank you for showing us how to use allies ? - An answer from you, devs, would be appreciated. When will you hold promos and fix the tutorial ? Why isn't there a͟͟t͟͟ l͟͟e͟͟a͟͟s͟͟t͟͟ road map yet ?

We have been waiting long for new stuffs, all you do is throwing events while you could have released new features and fix. An answer that you still care about the game would be appreciated - and not just a short answer -

  2. In general, it can be really bad to lay out future plans to a community. Particularly because in development things can change. I don't mean change just in delivery/deployment dates getting pushed forward or moved back, but also on planned features not making it into the game whilst perceived long term implementations in a wish box are surprisingly easy to put in.

From a design standpoint, an implemented update intended for one use or specific set of measures could be utilized by the community in an entirely unexpected way, changing the design landscape and decisions moving forward.

While it's great to have those online game companies that are very open about such future projections, it can and has burned both the communities and developers in the past.

As far as the request that the developers here "show that they care beyond putting out new events," note that the game has been changing. For instance, look at the Clan Roles rework / admin removal. The key thing to measure is that change in this game is gradual, as when you have a successful formula the last thing you want to do is spoil the recipe. Does this near-seven-year-old game have to stay competitive and current? Yes, of course, and, if only from a pragmatic view, that is why you can expect future updates to Kingdoms at War beyond events.

  3. Never ever going to get a road map again.. As for new stuffs you have you ask,

    Does it make them money?

Should have posted more hipster/animes/sharks gifs/pics if you wanted a quick response..

  4. Kind of. I see a lot of newbies in wc asking questions, sometimes unanswered. These players can decide to leave because the game is confusing. These players could have pay money.

    Cool shark btw

  5. Have you thanked a whale today??

As long as they have their whales they don't care.. Once the whales go, that's when they will shut it down, or start to listen to us..

For real though that will be it for kaw.. So respect them whales, they keep this game going..

  6. Todd why did you block me?

  8. See, if a bunch of newbies are asking questions in chat and not getting answers, that's kind of on the community for not responding.

Additionally, you want the developers to implement more features when you're implying the complexity budget is already possibly busted? /confused ?

If you want the developers to do more quality-of-life improvements, that's one thing. Aside, towards new players with questions, the in game FAQ was reworked quite some time ago to be fairly useful if you read it as a new player. I haven't looked recently, but I suspect a lot of newbie questions would be resolved if they just checked there first. Maybe it needs to be more prominent for people with the "New" tag?

EDIT: Disregard, it's right on the home page, my eyes just gloss over it out of habit. It's true that it doesn't get in-depth on the mechanics, but then, it's not intended for that audience in the first place.

  9. The hlp section needs improvement. However, Id use it as an reminder. Every games needs a good tutorial.

  10. To be honest I think there is loads of guides for beginners already and many people who offer advice as soon as you join.I have recently did a few alts and as soon as your screenname appears in worldchat saying give this new player a volley and welcome into Kaw.You get lots of comments on your wall to join beginner clans and follows offering start up advice. As soon as you join a clan there is so many who give you all the basic needed advice.

  11. Stupid thread

  12. Woman, or whatever you are, supposed to be or want to be, can you explain deeper why ?

  13. I think the main reason new players leave is because they get bullyied. That is the biggest issue that needs to be clamped down on .it makes me sad and angry just reading it all happen in wc and on forums and walls.

  14. As a response to your roadmap question,

Grant posted a while back (can't be bothered to find the post) on a player thread addressing road maps. They aren't keen on releasing any because they tend to be very inaccurate and unreliable, and thus creates tension within the community and results in players lashing out at devs.

    Don't blame them tbh.

  15. "lashing out at devs"
    *Dies on the floor laughing*
Seriously though, outside of EA I am adamant this is the most hated, still alive company.

Damn... ATA is literally the EA of the phone application industry, apart from the popularity

  16. Re: Sell all, tutorial, roadmap... - Where are you devs ????

    1. I got a reply from the devs a while ago when I emailed them about it, they said it would be to hard to implement for all devices, and said the most efficient way is on computer.

    2. The basic structure of the tutorial is fine, adding join a clan and volley me in wc etc, would overload the system. Let's say there's 100 people who join kaw each day, so if all of them end up in one clan because of tutorial, nobody would understand how to play, if you had an admin or something to run ebs and answer questions, they would need to sleep until the new players understood. Volley me would result in spam when you have 5 new players join at the same time and within seconds there's multiple "volley me" in wc.

    3. They stopped doing road maps because they put so much effort into them, and the community sends outrage because of how long they have to wait, waste of time when the community doesn't appreciate the months of planning, and in the time that they have picked they almost always hit bumps in the road and then the map ends up unreliable, which causes more rage. So the devs don't want to do road maps but instead tell you a few days before release so at least you have notice, but not enough time to send outrage because it's 3 months away,

  17. I dont really care about much in this thread, but I've made new accounts before, and I will say the tutorial sucks ass.

    -Pick A Name!
The only part that makes much sense!

-Put a couple buildings on lands that are MAGICALLY already unlocked!
Ehh, might want to show them they have to buy it?

    -Attack some guy!
This part sucks because it doesn't even make you choose an action, it just automatically attacks.

    The tutorial still needs:

    -Allies
    -Clans
    -Ebs
    -Fix the PvP part
    -probably more stuff
-not to confuse a player and make them quit

  18. I think their care for the game is self evident. It's still here, there are still opportunities and events, still new things being released to help new players - like TGs extensive tutorial.

And, agreeing with Corinthian, road maps are a terrible idea. Last time, some took the road map to be a contract. A minority behaved pretty awful about the whole thing, feeling betrayed, feeling much feels etc. It became an exercise in futility, because no matter how much ATA to fulfill it, some still weren't happy.

  19. Ok, maybe roadmap is a bad idea, but at least, for god's sake, the tutorial needs a good rebuff. It is cool that TG made a tutorial in forums and I will be honest, It took me weeks to find tge forum. What about those who never find forums ? That is not an excuse to have a poor tutorial.

  20. thats part of the issue, another part is that they don't get much help, or anyone they can start off with to guide them. I used to buy newbies and talk with them in ally chat if they actually read the thing. Helping players learn the game would do better for the community as a whole.

So serving as a challenge for players young and old in this game, pick up a newbie, show them the ropes, help them as much as you possibly can, get them on their feet and help them understand this simplistic yet overly complicated game.

Remember, without new players this game will die, so if you're one of those who loves to play, help those who have just started. Give them a chance to enjoy the game rather than cause them grief which makes them stop playing.
