To those who have been stalking me of late (I don’t know why you would, but there may be some out there) you’re probably aware of how much I despise these holiday promotions (I’m also not a fan of the summer ones, but those I can tolerate much better). To those who haven’t been stalking me, now you know. But, rather than just ***** and moan over something I don’t like, I decided to see if I could come up with an alternative that would solve the issues I have with the system while maintaining the current goals of it. So I present to you my thoughts on the current seasonal promotion system and how we can improve it. My primary issues with the current system are as follows: -Newer players and smaller clans get the shaft. There is a huge difference between being able to hit/complete a Warbeasts compared to an Origins, the next moth dropping EB (I don’t count RotW/HTE because, for all intensive purposes, those are pay to play aspects of KaW IMO). Now, props to the devs for adding Warbeasts since the Halloween Promotion in an attempt to address this issue. However, I think we can all admit having Warbeasts drop moths is like giving Foreign Territories double plunder. Funny, but not really practical. I think we can do better. -Fixation on certain EBs. Now, it’s all well and good to have a short time promoting the EBs that nobody does anymore (who knows, maybe you’ll find a new love for Cover of Night). But the current system means a “diversity” of about half a dozen EBs over the course of a month. Repetitiveness promotes boredom, and that definitely doesn’t help keep people on KaW (might I point out bad for income?). We need to expand the variety of Epic Battles that can be done for the promotions. So, this is what I propose: ALL Epic Battles drop moths. For a vast majority of these, there will be a hard cap that does not change over the course of the promotion. These will not be good drops. If you ran these hardcore over the duration of the promotion and were heavily active, you might be close to some equipment rewards. The point of these is to allow for variation without sacrificing the promotion drops entirely. Maybe TGL drops goods moths, but your clan needs more Vermeil Breastplates to run it quickly. Now running CoR isn’t as terrible of an investment as it would be if it dropped nothing. Additionally, this helps bridge the gap between Warbeasts and Origins without killing engagement in the promotion. The current aspect of only certain Epic Battles dropping moths and changing drop rates over time would be slightly altered. Since all Epic Battles would drop in this new system, there would be certain ones that drop better. This limited number are the ones that don’t have a “hard cap” on drops, they run via the current system and will vary over the course of the promotion. Now, whether or not the devs give us this list of better EBs or let us test them out is their choice. But either way, it keeps the aspect where if you want the best rewards, you’ll have to put in more effort to achieve them. Ideally, what I want to create is a system where you’re not bounded by 24/7 periods of a certain few EBs if you want to get decent prizes. I want a system where no section of the player base misses out on a large chunk of the promotion, not because they chose to, but because of their stats at the time. A system where by being reasonably active you can get something usable (be honest, I think kingdoms would prefer equipment over inferno/aqua they couldn’t use or has a large chance of being wasted on fails if it can be). And I believe this is the foundation of that system. You don’t have to agree. In fact, I’d prefer disagreement nitpicking at every aspect of my proposal so we can find exploits and flaws, enabling us to then work on fixing them. So fire away. Additions, removals, personal slander, exploits, post anything that will help develop a better system where more people can enjoy the seasonal promotions. TLR Version - I like Tacos. I agree. Lol, this NML fixation has gone on long enough. The event's halfway over and it hasn't changed! And the devs ignore our desperate pleas for salvation...
It goes beyond the NML too, though that has been awful. In general there really aren't that many more EBs that drop and are reasonable to run often.
