Prologue: 351 AD, mankind was visited by creatures not from this world. They came in peace and helped us advance our technology. Some people viewed them as gods, others viewed them as witches. Medieval historians recorded articles and artwork from and of the aliens. Now a days, we would call them Elves. They were soon cast out and swore one day, vengeance would come. 2050 AD, they returned. The day of vengeance has arrived. The elves herded us into patches of crowded areas, killing off the weak. Families were separated, relationships were broken. There were only a few areas humans were allowed to live, but there was no way to travel between those areas. Anyone that attempted to escape, were killed instantly. 2070 AD, the human race decided to do something about the elves. They needed to rise from the ashes. They needed someone strong enough to fight them off. They needed super soldiers. One patch, called New Portland started developing a genetic altering pill that lasted a life time. 2100 AD, scientists of New Portland began their first test of their new pill. They took 10 infants for testing, gave them all the pill. None survived. Most died in excruciating pain and suffering. The lucky ones exploded, blood covering the walls of the test room. 2114 AD, the scientists tested their new pill, they took the same amount of infants, and ran the same tests. Seven infants died. Three lived, but showed no sign of improvement. Those infants were later sent home and were tested yearly. 2128 AD, the infants, now 14 showed remarkable improvements in motor functions and could run faster, jump higher and think faster than any other human on earth. That still wasn't enough. 2140 AD, the scientists decided to test their new pill on the old three survivors. The pills did not do what they expected. They worked even better. Making one man able to see situations, see all outcomes and counter all those outcomes in milliseconds. Another man could control and create fire with his mind. The last man had extreme accuracy. He could hit a target in the dead center from five miles away with a sniper, without scoping. They were mankind's last hope. End of Prologue
Chapter One: Cipher That criminal ran from me. Jumping over obstacles, pushing people out of the way. A little girl ate mud because she was in his way. He turned left to the plaza. I quickly turned as well. About 50 people stood in front of me, dirty torn clothes, fear and pain in their eyes, dirt spread throughout their hair. Some were missing limbs, the stumps were not bloody though due to healing over time. I could barely make out his location due to all the people, but I could see a separation of people ahead of me, so I ran. I looked around for anything electronic. I saw a security camera. I put my hand up to my head and the electricity from the camera went into the criminal. He fell on his face. I ran up to him, grabbed him and dragged him to my van with little resistance. Everyone is staring at me now, which I hate. "What?" I almost yell Everyone looks away afraid of what I am able to do. I open the van door and throw him in, tie him up with rope, then get in the front seat. "Damn you, Crypt and Pyro" I say to myself "had to make me do this on my own." I take out my keys. Turn on the van. Then drive to HQ. I open the door to the HQ. The giant glowing sign that said Vektor Bureau always caught my eye as I walked in, this time, while dragging an unconscious criminal. I walk up the the receptionists desk. "Is Kevin in yet?" "Yes he is in his office" "Thanks" I walk over to his office and knock on the door. "Come in!" Kevin said. I open the door, hear his tv on the news in the background and throw the body in front of me "You wanted a criminal?" I ask "Yes" he said "Well here you go." "Sit down" he said. I sat down. "Cipher, you know you are the best at bringing in criminals, but for the love of god, you have to stop throwing them on my god damn floor." "Well where do you suggest I put them?" "How about jail?" "Nah, too crowded for me." I said "Well anywhere but here" "Boss, I'm pretty sure you didn't want to talk to me about throwing criminals on your floor." The criminal started to wake up, I took the electricity from the telephone and zapped him with it. He fell unconscious again. "I wanted to talk to you about...." He stared at the TV. "Boss? Boss?" Nothing I turned around and saw the horrible news. "We are at the scene of the explosion where..." The TV changed channels. "Did you change it?" He asked. "No" I said. "You are no match against the elven kingdom" a raspy voice on the TV said. "Your only cable company along with everyone in it, has been obliterated. We control what you watch and when you watch it. You will have no freedom." The TV turned off. "Well, TV's wiped out now." I said "You, Crypt and Pyro need to get over there NOW" he demanded "Yes sir" I ran out of the office, passed a crying receptionist on my way out. I went to my car, unlocked the door, turned it on and drove away. "Conference call, Crypt and Pyro" I said to the car. "Did you say, conference call sift and Pyro?" "No! Conference call CRYPT and Pyro" "Did you say conference call Crypt and Pyro?" "Yes!" "Calling..." "Hello?" Pyro and Crypt said simultaneously. "Guys, boss ordered us to go to the Network." "Alright, we'll be there." Crypt said "End call" "Call ended" the car repeated. I was about 15 minutes away. I pulled up to find that Crypt was there first. Pyro came right after I did. We walked in together. "What happened?" I asked "Apparently, a man walked in here and left his quote unquote pen here by accident. Two hours later, boom. I think it was an Elven E.A.V.D. bomb." "Great, how many casualties?" Crypt asked "42 confirmed dead, 17 missing and 7 wounded" "Damn" I said "You think this is the Prophet?" "Pretty good chance" Pyro replied "Let's go get this bastard" I exclaimed End of Chapter One
