I am sad to say, recently I have noticed a very disheartening trend. This trend is elitists in music. Often times these people believe that the music they listen to is the best music possible to be made. While it is acceptable to have this opinion it is unacceptable when it becomes fact to them and they try and force their own opinions on others and tell them it is fact. That's not the end I believe the KaWmunity is a special place. Now I am asking you guys to play a game with me in where you state your favorite genera of music, then an artist from another (preferably not similar) genera. For example having heavy metal as your favorite and choosing a dark mental artist is not what we are looking for. The format example is below. (preferred genera) Hi my name is arc and I like to listen to 2000's punk rock (respected artist)I do not listen to much rap music but I respect Eminem because he inspires people and is good at what he does. As this thread evolves we can talk about elitists in general or elitists in other forms of media but for now stick to music
No this is a trend I noticed in my freinds people have always been snobby but recently a freind of mine tried to do some jihad stuff to get me to listen to country
Yeah country is gross... Too sad, and definitely what ISIS listens to.. Let's listen to Cake... Short skirt, long jacket
I have eclectic tastes in music. I refuse to be pigeonholed by anyone. Why limit yourself to a genre? If I hear something and like it I don't ask myself whether it's country, R&B, etc. I just enjoy the music and possibly buy the song if I really loved it.
Tupac - high till I die Metallica - master of puppets Gareth Brooks - the dance Lonestar - amazed The Wolfe Tones - tiochfaidh ar la Placido Domingez - nessum dorma Elvis - I saw you crying in the chapel Aqua - barbie song Anything Banghra Anything Classical Many genres and they're all good Can't beat, Gerry and the Pacemakers - you'll never walk alone
Don't forget green day. They have such nonoffensive songs as American idiot and uplifting ones such as boulevard of broken dreams.
I admit to being really bad for music elitism... Maybe not so far as snobbery but... Guess that's what comes of being a music journalist!
OP those people have always been around. Best way to deal with that crap is to ignore them when they start behaving that way, or completely shut them down by saying their opinion isn't important.
I think their opinion is important they are freinds and have valuable input into my life. But anyways let's get back on to topic
