RasputinRasputin was a failed monk who eventually became a wanderer with alleged mystical powers and healing abilities. He was known for his lustful life full of debauchery which lead to his alleged influence on the ruling of Russia. He was born into peasantry in Siberia on the 21st of January in 1869. He wasn't very educated as a child and therefore he probably never learned to read or write. It was claimed by people in his village that he possessed supernatural powers in the earlier stages of his life. With the intentions of becoming a monk, Rasputin joined the Verkhoture Monastery in Russia. However he left shortly afterwards to, presumably, get married. At the age of 19, Rasputin married Proskovia Fyodorovna, who he had three children with (two of which died shortly after birth). Rasputin left his family in his early twenties to travel to the Middle East, where he made several pilgrimages to the Holy Land(s). He arrived in St.Petersburg in 1903 as a wanderer, where he had the reputation of being a starets (spiritual teacher) with healing abilities. Seeking help for their ill son (Alexis), in 1905, Tsar Nicholas II and his wife (Alexandra Feodorovna), called upon Rasputin who quickly gained their trust by supposedly healing Alexis of his hemophilia (a disease where the blood doesn't clot). Because of this, Rasputin was quickly put in Alexandra's good books. Because of Rasputin's strong association with the Tsar and his family, many politicians and journalists undermined the Tsar. Rasputin worsened the situation by claiming to be the Tsarina's personal advisor. Rasputin's spiritual gifts were offset by his womanizing and alcoholism. Many scandals arose as his apparent power grew. Tsar Nicholas ignored any rumors of Rasputin being a supposed lustful alcoholic as he needed Rasputin for his healing powers to cure his son. The Tsarina however denied the allegations of there being a more than spiritually comforting relationship between herself and Rasputin. Rasputin maintained his rumored close relationship with the Tsarina while seducing many many women behind the scenes. Many believed Rasputin had hypnotic eyes which lead to him having his way with almost every woman he met. In 1916 on December 29th, a group of conspirators invited Rasputin to a dinner in Yusupov's palace which would later end in the infamous assassination of Rasputin. They laced Rasputin's cake and wine with enough cyanide to kill several men. Rasputin was eventually drunk but not effected by the poison at all. Surprised by this, the conspirators were determined. They shot him multiple times but he still seemed to show life. So they ended up wrapping him up in a carpet and throwing him into the Neva River. Although Rasputin was finally dead, his final prophecy was yet to unfold. He had written to Tsar Nicholas shortly before his death predicting that if he was killed by government officials (which he was), the whole of the Tsar's family would be killed by the Russians. This came true 15 months later when the Tsar, his wife and his children were killed by assassins during the Russian Revolution. So the question is this, was Rasputin (in your opinion) really a mystical man with powers of spiritual healing, or was he just a fraud?
I think if you can take a stick, speak a few words and then heal a dude, then you're pretty goddamn mystical.
Interesting stuff lel. Me thinks he's a magician. I'm sure many people would appreciate you adding a Tl;Dr though. (Me)
Anyway, just read all the thread and from my understanding this guy is like the Siberian Jesus lel -insert moonface here-
No according to 99% of these forums there is nothing spiritual or mystical that can exist. Only what we can explain with science must be true bc we are damn near perfect as a species. Even though we cant explain our own theory of creation, still it must be true bc scientists say it is. Didnt you know atheism is the new fad?
Not u man, you read the other threads right? Mention spirituality or anything divine your attacked by the atheist kaw mob. Its a neat fad but will pass
