This is a fun exercise to practice rhyme schemes, syllable count, flow and stops without focusing too much on content. Pay attention to hard sounds and soft sounds. Anyway just write a poem of random words for fun. Heres one of mine. Slivers silence shivers violent rivers Eroding flowing corroding growing Rip and tear stripping bare Unearth restore rebirth unsure Unworth impure Slivers silence shivers violent rivers Depth and deprivation Death with no sensation Dark developed dark enveloped Stark and drinking time is shrinking Thinking thinking Slivers silence shivers violent rivers Coat invade caress Invoke deprave impress The beds of rivers violent slivers silent Slivers stock and strain Slivers of insane Slivers dark refrain Slivers silence shivers violent rivers On the brain
I might just try one This poem made me think of the environmental problems on the planet, for some reason
Lol! I can see that. Almost an angry mother earth. Its not intentional. The words are random. I chose them for their sound and rhyme.
I tried to focus on placing hard sounds where i wanted stops and soft sounds where i wanted the flow to continue.
Here's one i wrote a long time ago. I was trying to write a poem that was pretty sounding and would seem like it has deep meaning while meaning nothing at all. No rhymes in this one but still very random. A sparkle of silver, pulls my eyes, To the faucet's rim. Steadfast it stands, above the velvet, Of flowing curtains, That recall my memory, the dancing spider, By my waking bed. An arachnid translucent, and quickly fading, From dreams not mine. Whisper the name, and spin behind, The tapestry's long arms. For in that place, and nowhere else, It will never end.
Just a short one, might expand on it later what do you think? I might've rhymed a bit too much --------------------------------- Forsaken fight awaken light Frightening queen Washing clean Brave and stark Craving dark Sinking deeper blasting creeper Stop and think A little wink Crazy beauty lazy duty Flowers decrease Towers of peace Hours decease Sly smile Walk a mile
Dark and silent Quick and violent Bland and lacking Yellow, quacking Fading wading braiding shading Spading grading over aiding Climbing trees and kicking knees Rhyming these and licking peas Ticking faces wafting smells Playing aces drafting wells Bust to gust and trend to bend Dust to dust and end to end
Cutting knife-like Jutting life-like Fuzzy ears and wagging tails Scuzzy sinks and lagging snails Tongues a drooling Lungs a hooling Crinkly bags are plastic poo Wrinkly hags are spastic too
