PVE: spy contribution accurate?

Discussion in 'Strategy' started by The_Philosopher, Jun 11, 2011.

  1. Yesterday my clan managed to get through the lions-share of the pves. ONe of the one's we disliked the most (well the hitters disliked it anyway) was the part in No man's land where you spend a hour or so scouting for stone giants. Now, my hitter only has one SOS and lots of ToCs (I use my osf to do my spying for me), so when I scouted I did about 30 target damage per scout. Now my osf has 48 more SOS than my main, but it was only doing about 4 or 5 times the damage per scout. Only 130 target damage from an HLBC? Come on devs! This seems very low considering the build. Of course with the time it takes to scout ,the hitters complain and say they don't want to do it again, meaning a epic that seems to favor spy builds won't get done much. I get the feeling the devs are trying to steer people away from the spies.
Also, why do hitters get money when they attack but spies get none for assinations? What's up with that? Is it not basically the same thing?
Do you see this anti-spy strategy or am I just paranoid? lol Let's see the comments.

  2. Yes it is accurate, spies were never supposed to be a build in it's self, at least they made pve where you can use both spies and attacks, get over the fact, YOUR OSFS NEED TO LEARN HOW TO WORK FOR THEIR MONEY!

    Sincerely once again,
    Matt

  3. lol Matt. But it has been so much fun collecting the war tax to increase the size of my main. YOu mean it is all coming to an end?

  4. Lots of ppl who spent huge amounts of cash and time building HLBC spies will be pissed. lol

  5. Yes you have to work for your money now, it's not going to be handed to you in a basket with a bow on top. You can't even advertise in wc about a pw cuz no one will come, pve is better money just get over it and learn how to work for your money.

    Matt

  6. Well Matt, I still see quite a few Pwars going on out there. It probably depends on how persuasive the clan owners are in making thier members do pwar over pve. I think it is hard for smaller clans to finish some of the pves so if the big hitters don't come it will be hard for lots of smaller players to make that pve bonus money. It will be interesting to see what happens.

  7. This make people want to stick to pwars :;

  8. Cor has already said these scout ones are profitable for the spies

  9. lol you are keeping up with both posts!

  10. You get gold for assassinations, but at the end. This means spies have to finish the mission for gold. It's rather high, so I think perhaps you should try finishing missions for the end reward ^^.

  11. If they spies get nothing if the mission is not finished should the hitters also get nothing as well?

  12. Why are so many of the spy actions are assinations and scouts? Where is the stealing?

  13. No, since the entire idea of the mission is to finish it. If you can't, troops are supposed to be the main form of income in the game, so they make decent income despite not finishing. Also, steal missions want to have a word with you.

  14. Because scouting and assassinations both fit the lore and make high gold for spies, making stealing about on par (if not possibly less depending on activity). If you want to do the steal missions, then go ahead and do them, as they are there.

  15. I noticed you used the word "supposed to be" Corinthian. I guess the devs didn't imagine in the beggining there would be so many big pure spy builds. Saying that, unless the spies are treated better I bet lots of their owners will support pwar over pve.

  16. Yes, I said troop builds "are supposed to be" the main form of income, meaning at the moment spy builds have it extremely easy compared to the attack build. If you can't see this, you are blind, no offense.

  17. I'd just like to add, scouting does take a very minor amount of spy's to do. Half of the amount it takes to assassinate, and about a third of stealing.
