I have tried various proteins to build muscle from muscle milk to isolate wheys. Currently trying out cookie dough flavor. I am curious about post work proteins that others may have tried. Let me know. P.s. Everyday should be Mother's Day.
I take creatine 15 mins before my workout and drink a protein shake with 20 grams of whey protein within 30 min of my workout. I will then drink another just before going to bed. I have the night shake even in non-workout days. I'm generally 2 on, 2 off, although work sometimes screws up my routine.
I use whey protein powder. If you're trying to body build .60 - .80 grams of protein per pound of body weight is suggested daily. I usually eat some yogurt granola or nuts (also good sources of protein) with the shake after workout because it supposedly helps to digest food with it. It's also important to get other nutrients. Fruit and vegetables are awesome while working out simple sugars are a good boost of energy.
I take the creatine powder and mix it with fruit juice cause it's supposed to absorb better in simple sugars.

1.5gram of protein per lb of bodyweight is the general rule, I've strength and power trained for 20years and this was always a general rule concerning volume of protein, currently using mutant whey protein, myofusion is very good Also
I have a pizza and wash it down with a melted gallon of ice cream works fine. Oh yeah and don't forget the fries!
