Pots are items you can purchase. Attack, defence or the spy counterparts. Purchase those (usually attack or spy attavk) to "pot" money.

Banking is allies, bronze bars, pots or anything else you can spend money on.

 

Just remember not to bank in defense pots as they'll simply get burned up when you get attacked.
