I recently read over a post where the Admins stated they would penalize clans for intentionally creating no match scenarios, as well as “fixing” wars with alliance clans; so with that information in mind, I'd like to put forth the following idea: Potential Match-up Analytics. As players cast WOC and hit the 26 – 29 player limits, the system would parse the data of those clans who have the members to “qualify” and, from there, spit out a list of “Potential Match-ups” that the clan could face if they keep the roster as is. This information break down would provide the names of the potentially matched clans, as well as, some other useful data, such as total CS, BFA, BFE, etc., for both your clan and potential match ups. This gives a little more control to clans that have, at least in my opinion, been growing more and more frustrated with a match up system that often pairs them with the same opponents, in what they perceive to be “a horrible mismatch.” Also, it would effectively punish those clans that do abuse the match up system, by increasing the probability of a no match, from enemy clans dropping out of their range, if they do not make significant adjustments to their roster and/or set up. On that same note, clans will know before hand if they are poised for a no match and, therefore, will have time to fix what is wrong with their roster (or at least experiment with it.) Further, you will no longer need to reward clans for getting a no match, apart from the odd man out scenarios, which would greatly reduce the total number of no matches. Now, the obvious flaw with this idea is of course the potential for clans to effectively “set up” their matches by making really odd rosters, etc., however, as previously noted, if the admins are serious about enforcing “fixed” wars, this becomes much less of an issue. In terms of building this, from the dev side, all the information is already being stored and parsed behind the scenes anyways, so it would be a somewhat simple matter of creating a user interface and updating the information periodically. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So, as an example of possible application: Say I'm the WC of OG Alliance and I have all my members cast for war; I see that my only possible match up is Rising Hawks and I know that we have a 100% loss record against them, we stand almost no chance at winning and a good portion of my members will quit before the war even starts. Instead of wasting all of our time and a perfectly good war, I have all of my team take off 50% of their equipment and maybe take out one big build in place of a GH. Now when I look at possible match ups, I see SOTRA, War Honour, TGIA Reborn and BattleGrounds, opponents I'd enjoy fighting against much more, so I keep my roster locked as is and we experience a much more entertaining/fair fight. Pure speculation on behavior here, however, I'd predict that we'd start to see a few major clusters form in the range groups, as clans trimmed their rosters to get in the range of "easier" opponents. So with most clans following this logic, instead of having 2 or 3 possible matches, most clans would find themselves POSSIBLY matched against 1 of 10+ different opponents and the likeliness for "barely matchable" match ups goes down. Thoughts? Suggestions?
Hmmm needs work but biggest thing is id say don't tell them the possible matches just put something like "you have 5 potential matches with this roster" but really iffy idea from the gate.
