Okay, since there's the new Fan Fiction Forum, I've moved "Pokemon Quest" here. Enjoy. I'm gonna post all the chapters and then the newer ones. USE THE POKEDEX/FEEDBACK THREAD. DO NOT POST HERE! Thanks. iZaln
Today was an important day for me. I was going to get my first and very own Pokemon. You see, Pokemon are creatures that co-exist with us. It's my dream to become the Hoenn League Champion. Chapter 1: First Encounter I woke up quickly and jumped out of bed. I ran across my room and took a shower. I was excited because the Professor was going to grant me my own Trainer Card and my starter Pokemon. After taking a shower, I put on a gray shirt and some shorts I found lying on the ground. Racing down the stairs, I found my mother and father. I had already spoken with them about my Pokemon quest and they supported me. My father smiled and said, "How's our future Hoenn League Champ doing?" I smiled and said, "Morning Dad, morning Mom. Anyway, I'm hyped up today. I'm picking out my first pokemon!" "Yes my dear, eat your breakfast though," said my Mom. "Yes Mom," I replied. My Dad laughed and said, "And the Hoenn Champ still has to eat breakfast!" We all laughed. Soon afterwards, I finished breakfast and said, "Okay, I'm leaving now, I'll be back in a few minutes!" Hastily I put my shoes on and bolted out the door. I passed a few of my neighbors' houses on my way to the PokeLab. I saw Mr. Desmond and blew past Mrs. Reily. Eventually I made myself to the PokeLab. I opened the door and found the Professor standing next to my childhood buddy, Bastion. Also his son. Bastion waved and the Professor said, "Glad you're here Zaln! It's time for you and Bastion to pick out your Pokemon to start your quests!" He brought us over to a table and handed us each a black PokeDex and said, "Well it's time for you both to start adventuring now." He gestured to the table which had three PokeBalls. The Professor said, "Why don't you pick your starter Pokemon now?" Bastion smiled and said, "I already know which one I want." Then he grabbed the PokeBall in the middle and said, "This is mine. I claim Torchic as my Pokemon." The Professor nodded. Bastion added, "Cmon Zaln, pick your Pokemon so we can have a battle!" I looked at him and said, "Tch, you just wait, I'll defeat you." Then I grabbed the Pokemon on the left. "I choose Treeko as my beginner Pokemon!" "Oh? A grass type versus a fire type?" Obviously Torchic has an advantage. Are you sure Zaln?" Asked the Professor. Bastion cut in, "Ahh it doesn't matter Dad, Zaln thinks he can beat me, I'll beat him." "You wish. Let's battle now!" I said excitedly. "Sure," said Bastion. "NOOOOOO!" The Professor exclaimed. "Not in this Lab, maybe outside?" "Okay," responded both Bastion and I in unison. When we got to Route 18, we went over near the grass. Then we started the battle. The Professor was going to be the referee for our battle. He said before we started, "Remember to check your PokeDexes to find our your Pokemon's moves. Good luck to both. Winner gets €300." Bastion and I walked in opposite directions and then turned to face each other, PokeBalls in one hand, PokeDexes in the other. The Professor then said, "Battle... BEGIN!" I instantly threw my PokeBall and a Treeko appeared before me. Bastion did likewise except a Torchic appeared. He yelled, "Torchic, Ember!" I realized that this was a fire move and it would seriously injure my Treeko so I yelled, "Dodge it, Treeko!" It obeyed, and the ember move blazed right past my Treeko. Then I said, "Treeko, Pound attack!" Treeko obeyed and jumped at Torchic, his broad tail ready to attack. Bastion didn't react fast enough and his Torchic to a hit. He said, "Counter with Tackle!" Instantly the small bird slammed it's body against my Treeko sending it backwards. "Follow up with Ember!" Before I could say anything, I saw Treeko get hit by ember. Then it fainted. I looked in surprise that I had been beaten so easily. I ran over to Treeko and cradled it in my arms. It looked up at me weakly with it's eyes and said, "Treeeee ko." I nodded and said, "You fought against a good opponent. It's my fault we didn't win. I'm sorry. We'll get em next time." Treeko nodded and I returned it to it's PokeBall. The Professor was paying Bastion and I came over to join them. The Professor congratulated us both on a good battle and said FHA we should take our Pokemon to his lab to heal them. After healing them on a machine at the Professor's lab, I went back home to pack up for my adventure with Bastion. When I got there, I found my parents sitting on the couch. They said, "Oh Zaln, how are you? And did you get your new Pokemon?" I showed them Treeko and explained what had happened during the battle. "Oh, that's okay, you win some and loose some," my Father remarked cheerfully. Then my Mother handed me a backpack and said, "I went ahead and packed up everything for you. And here's your Trainer Card." She handed me a plastic card with a picture of me, my trainer number, and a few other things. My Father said, "Don't lose this either," and he handed me an iPoke, it was like an iPhone, but had more capabilities. "Thanks Mom, thanks Dad! I'll be sure to call you if anything comes up! Seea guys later!" And with that, I ran out the door, ready to take on the world. I met up with the Professor and Bastion at Route 18. I added Bastion's and the Professor's iPoke number. Then the Professor said, "As you both know, you'll need to take on the Gym Leaders to enter the Hoenn League Tournament, so be ready. Also, take these PokeBalls to catch some more Pokemon. Be sure to stay safe and complete those PokeDexes!" "Thanks Professor, will do." I said. Bastion said, "Thanks Dad! We are bound to do that!" And with those parting words, we both ran off, deeper into Route 18. Chapter 2: The Cross Roads of Battling As we got into the grass of Route 18, Bastion said, "Zaln, we should split up and find some Pokemon. Then we'll battle!" "Sure, meet up here in an hour?" "Yeah. Go catch some Pokemon. Good luck because you're gonna need it." "Shut up." Then we split up. I spent a long time attempting to catch Pokemon, but they always ran away or when I threw my Pokeball, it missed. After what seemed like forever, I returned to Bastion. I found him there smiling with a Tailow and a Poochyena. He said, "You catch anything?" "No," I responded. "Hah, nothing? Seriously?" "Yes, nothing." "You're pathetic. You can't win a battle nor can you catch any Pokemon." "Tch. We'll see." We continued northward and reached Oakdale Town. We were greeted by a woman who said, "Welcome to Oakdale! As a special promotion, we are giving away a free Potion to any Trainer that comes. So here you go!" Then she handed each of us our own Potion. We both said thanks. On our way to the Pokemon Center, Bastion said, "You know we could just leave Oakdale for a little bit and then come back another potion. Then repeat. Nifty right?" "Yeah yeah, but we at least need to get to Petalburg before it's nighttime." After getting to the Pokemon Center, the Nurse, who was named Happi. She gladly healed our Pokemon on a contraption and handed back and said, "Thank you, come again!" We left and left Oakdale through the western exit. While we were walking, we came to a fork in the pathway. Bastion said, "Let's take the left one." "No the right one," I answered back. "Zaln, believe me, I'm sure it's the left." "No it's you who isn't sure Bastion, it's the right." "The left dimwit!" "Right path! It's the RIGHT way." "Trust me on this one, it's left." "Tehehe, you boys are funny," someone said. Both of us turned around to see a cute girl, about our age there. She said, "What's the problem?" I said, "Ummm uhhh thaaaaa eehhhh hhheeemnn...." "Errr eehhhhh snnnnnnnnn aerrrrrr ffffffssss," Bastion added. The girl laughed again and said, "You guys are weirdos." "No, eh sorry, Bastion buddy here is the idiot. Um, I'm Zaln. So what's your name." She said, "Oh, hi Zaln, my name is Rika. And hi there Bastion!" Bastion gave me an angry look, but smiled at Rika and said, "Hi Rika." She smiled and said, "So what were you arguing about?" Bastion said, "We were arguing which road to take to Petalburg. I was obviously right, since left is correct. Zaln, stupidly, thinks it's right." Rika said, "I know the way to Petalburg, and I'll tell you guys the way... That is if you guys will PokeBattle me?" I said, "Sure, I'm up for a challenge." "Count me in," threw in Bastion. "Okay," Rika started, "I'll use two Pokemon versus one of yours, each." Bastion and I looked at each other and nodded. In unison, we said, "We'll take your challenge." Rika then said, "Let's start then," amd she threw two PokeBalls and exclaimed, "Cmon Eevee and Swablu!" I threw my PokeBall and said, "Go, Treeko!" Bastion did the same, and said, "It's time to battle, Tailow!" Instantly, Bastion exclaimed, "Peck at the Swablu!" "Treeko, pound that Eevee!" Rika calmly ordered, "Eevee, change to Flare Mode. Swablu, use Gust!" Just then, Eevee started glowing, sending my Treeko back, and then it evolved into a Flareon before our very eyes. Swablu used Gust to mess up Tailow's flight pattern and it missed. Rika continued, "Flareon, use Flamethrower on that Treeko! Swablu, follow up with another Gust and then Tackle!" I yelled, "Treeko, dodge, then use Bullet Seed!" Treeko obeyed, and Flareon was hit, but since it had evolved into a Fire-type, it wasn't very effective. Bastion's Tailow got hit by the Swablu's combo and Bastion used a Potion to heal it. Just then I had an idea. I called Bastion over and hastily told him my plan. He smiled and said, "Tailow, hold on to Treeko with your talons." It obeyed and it held onto Treeko. Rika said, "A smaller target or a barrier? Odd, amd stupid. Swablu use your Gust on Tailow from behind, Flareon, Flamethrower at Treeko!" I smiled and said, "Tailow, flap you wings and Treeko, get outta there!" With Tailow's wings flapping, that boosted Treeko's speed allowing him to get out of the middle, but as Flareon used Flamethrower, the Gust from Swablu blew it right back at Flareon, knocking out the Flareon. Then, Bastion said, "Tailow, fly up with Treeko." As Tailow started flying up, I said, "Treeko, use Bullet Seed at the Swablu!" "Evade it Swablu!" While Swablu was evading Treeko's Bullet Seed attack, Tailow was mirroring Swablu's movements. Then it dropped Treeko on Swablu. Using the momentum of it's fall, I yelled, "Use Pound!" It was a direct hit at Swablu, knocking it out. Swablu started to fall, but Tailow caught Treeko, who was holding up Swablu. When the Pokemon reached ground level, we congratulated each other and the Pokemon. She said, "Impressive strategy Zaln! You guys won! Congratulations." "Thanks, but it was also thanks to Bastion. Anyway, I wanted to ask you a question, how did you get Eevee to evolve like that?" "Eevee is a special Pokemon by itself, but that Eevee was trained and given to me by my Teacher. She was very good with Pokemon. She trained the Eevee to evolve into it's other forms, and it can devolve." "Amazing," replied Bastion in amazement. "Anyway boys, how about we get each other's numbers? We should battle again." After trading numbers, Rika said bye and went off. But before she left, she said, "By the way, sorry Bastion, you're wrong, it's the right path." Then she winked at me and went off. I looked at Bastion who was dumbfounded and said, "Tch, I was right, it's the RIGHT path." "Horrible pun..." "Too bad." Then we started towards Petalburg City... Chapter 3: Patience is the Answer We finally made it to Petalburg City, safely so to speak. Bastion used his iPoke and said, "According to this thing, the Gym is closed because the leader has to go meet his wife's parents." "What?! Why waste time like that?" "I heard the Leader's wife's parents are rich, so he wants to secure his wife's inheritance." "Hah ingenious." We went to the Pokemon Center and walked over to the Nurse. I read her name tag which identified her as Nurse Joi. Oddly, her name, like the Nurse in Oakdale was a "good" word that had an "i" ending. She gladly healed our Pokemon but when she looked at us, her face darkened and she said, "You bastards, you better heal your Pokemon more often. This is creature cruelty! I'm calling all the other Pokemon Center members to be on watch. And if your Pokemon get hurt even more, I'll have your Pokemon taken away and you'll both be reprimanded." "Uhhh Yes Ma'am!" Both we responded. We grabbed our Pokemon and ran out the doors of the Pokemon Center. I said, "That Nurse is crazy!" "Yeah, I agree," Bastion said, obviously creeped out by the Nurse. Just then someone said, "You're insulting our town's Nurse?!" We turned around to see a Hippie guy with a beard dressed in weird colors and adorned with PokePeace symbols. He continued, "Don't you two dare insult the Nurse. She heals our precious Pokemon. And all you guys do is hurt them and enslave them through battling! It's horrible!" Bastion said, "Ehehehe, we were talking about ummm... Oakdale's Nurse, Nurse Happi!" "Yeah!" I added and smiled. The Hippie looked angered and said, "That's my Wife." Bastion and I looked at each other, eyes wide open in fear and surprise. The Hippie's nostrils were flaring with every breath he took, so I pointed into another direction saying, "Look, there's an old man making his Machop do his work. He's hitting it with his walking cane!" PokeHippie looked and ran off to confront the Pokemon Abuser. It actually was an old man taking a walk with his Machop. I told this to Bastion, and we ran off to the Petalburg Forest laughing, and away from Pokemon Peace Activists. When we were far enough away, Bastion said, "No wonder the Gym Leader left." "I hear you bro. What a scary town." As we headed to the Petalburg Forest entrance, three Shroomish attacked us from nowhere. Quickly, Bastion and I sent out our Pokemon. I sent Treeko out and Bastion released his Poochyena. Weirdly, the eyes of the Shroomish were red, as if angered and enraged. I told this to Bastion and he nodded in agreement. I said, "Treeko, quickly use a Pound on the middle Shroomish!" "Poochyena, Tackle the one to the right," commanded Bastion. Just then there was a shadow that passed by and I saw all the Shroomish cower back. Just then, a Bagon appeared. A voice from behind us said, "Bagon, use Tackle and Headbutt together!" The Bagon, using the speed from the Tackle, rammed into a Shroomish, knocking it out. Then the mysterious Trainer said, "Trapinch, use Sand Tomb!" Suddenly the earth around the last two Shroomish started spinning, sending all kinds of debris everywhere. They were quickly knocked out. Then a small Pokemon, orange Pokemon appeared from the ground and said, "Traaa Pinchhhhhh!" The mysterious Trainer said, "Hello there fellow Trainers!" We looked and found ourselves face-to-face with a guy, slightly older than us. He smiled and said, "Hey guys. Hope I didn't startle you guys, I'm investigating something odd here. For some reason, the Pokemon here are acting weirdly, I don't know if you guys noticed, but those Shroomish were enraged because of something." "We noticed. They attacked us out of nowhere. We just tried to defend ourselves. Oh and by the way, I'm Bastion, and this is my buddy, Zaln." The Trainer said, "Oh where are my manners-" "Did you lose your manners?" Bastion asked. The Trainer's eyebrows furrowed and he said, "Whaaaat?" "Oh I'm sorry, I'm a Planet of Warcraft fan. Manners are like special pets." Both the Trainer's and my faces showed confusion. "Oh um don't mind me, please continue on..." "Well as I was saying, my name is Colonial. I'm here to investigate. What about your guys?" I quickly said, "We were on our way to Rustboro City. We saw on our iPoke maps that we needed to cross through here in order to get there." Colonial said, "Oh, well I don't think it's safe to cross with those enraged Pokemon around. You might have to stay in Petalburg until I find a way to stop these mad Pokemon and find out the issue." Instantly, images of Nurse Joi and the Pokemon Hippie flashed in our minds. Bastion hastily said, "We'll help you, but please don't send us there!" I said, "Please Colonial. Plus you might need help with whatever is causing this ordeal!" He sighed and said, "I never intended to get anyone involved, but nonetheless, fine, you guys can help me." Both Bastion and I jumped up into the air and yelled, "YESSSSSSS!" Colonial only gave a puzzled expression in response. He said, "We'd better handle this soon so that no more Pokemon get hurt." We both nodded, and so, the three of us walked into the Petalburg Forest. We were soon swallowed by the darkness... Holiday Chapter: The Freedom of Love I walked into the Pokemon Center happily. I went up the staircase to the Trainer Lounge. I found Bastion using his iPoke. I came over to the table and handed him a paper with an address to a fancy restaurant in town. He looked from his iPoke to the paper and said, "What's this for?" I smirked and explained, "I found a mysterious, hot and single woman who is looking to hook up with a guy, so I thought of a desperate guy. You were the first to pop into my mind! So, I got this person to meet up and you guys could have a date at the Applewood Steakhouse for dinner!" "Sooo it's a blind date...?" "Yep! Cmon, this is probably the only chance at getting a girl in your whole entire life!" Bastion thought about the idea and said, "Sure, I'll be going. What time?" "6:30 PM. Just meet her at the table. Also, she's having her sister and brother-in-law come if you don't mind." "The more the merrier!" "Yeah, that's the mindset of a man I know with a heart of crap." Bastion casted me a fierce look and went over to pick what to wear. A few hours later, I accompanied Bastion to the Applewood and he entered. I found my way around the building. I had picked a window seat for them to see how Bastion's date would go. I looked and the window and nearly passed out. I had hooked up Bastion with Nurse Joi! Along with Joi were the PokeHippie and Nurse Happi! I saw Bastion's surprised reaction. I hoped, but unfortunately they recognized Bastion. The PokeHippie started throwing tableware at Bastion while yelling, "Evil Pokemon abuser!" I even saw Nurse Joi grab her purse and smack Bastion several times. I laughed so hard! It ended up with Bastion running out the doors. I met up with Bastion at the Pokemon Center Lounge. He was covered with water and salad. I inquired, "So, how was your date? Is she who you dreamed of?" Bastion looked at me with an annoyed face and said, "Just wait, I'll get my revenge, I promise. You never told me it was Nurse Joi!" Then he stomped of to the Trainer Personal Rooms to wash off. I laughed. Ending with that note, I just wanna say Happy Canada Day and Happy Fourth of July! May we all have the freedom to love someone!
Chapter 4: The Woods War Colonial, Bastion, and I went deeper into the Petalburg Woods. We heard several Bug Pokemon's cries, but none attacked us. While we were talking, Colonial asked, "So why don't you guys want to go to Petalburg? I hear it's really pleasant and peaceful. Bastion and I laughed and said, "Heck no, they would probably kill Pokemon Trainers." "Oh... Well, I don't think I'll visit again either. The Nurse there nearly took my Pokemon away because they were hurt." "Yeah, same here." Our small entourage walked deeper, while the trees started to block out any sign of light. Just then a Nincada jumped out of the trees, it's eyes also red, just like the other Shroomish. I stuck my arm out and told the other two, "I'll handle this one." Quickly, I released my Treeko from it's Pokeball and prepared to battle. Using my PokeDex, I found that Nincada was a Bug and Ground Type. I told Treeko to use Bullet Seed. Right before the Bullet Seed hit Nincada, it used Dig and went underground. I said, "Treeko, get ready, it could attack from anywhere under you!" Treeko nodded in agreement and prepared for the oncoming attack. Just then, Nincada erupted from right under Treeko. I yelled, "Treeko, jump upwards!" Treeko had jumped just in time to avoid the Nincada's Dig attack. While Treeko was still in the air, I commanded, "Treeko, using the downward momentum, use Pound attack!" As Treeko was returning downwards after jumping, he connected a direct Pound to Nincada. It knocked it out. Then I reached into my backpack and pulled out a PokeBall. Hastily, I threw it at the knocked out Nincada. The red beam erupted from the PokeBall and caught the Bug type Pokemon. I watched as the button in the middle of the PokeBall glowed, and then, finally, it stopped, meaning I had caught it. "Woohoo, my first Pokemon caught!" Colonial said, "Congratulations, good capture. Also, I heard that when a Nincada evolves, it evolves into two Pokemon, so make sure you have atleast one open slot when it evolves." I smiled and said, "Oh, sweet, thanks Colonial." "It's about time you caught something," said Bastion. "...Gosh." Was my simple reply. Colonial gave a confound countenance. We walked deeper into the woods. As we adventured, we started to hear louder cries from Pokemon. Colonial said, "We'd better start running if we hope to catch up to find out whatever is causing this trouble. We reached a thick cropping of trees, and there was heavy light shining through. As we neared, Bastion said, "We'll have to be very quiet." Then, the next second, Bastion tripped on some roots and hit several tree branches. He yelled as he was hit. Both Colonial and I facepalmed. We chased after Bastion and found him standing across from some Pokemon Nerd who was standing next to a contraption emitting heavy light. There was a Wurmple trapped inside and it was being shocked by the lighting. Colonial yelled, "Who are you, and what are you doing to that innocent Wurmple?" The PokeNerd smiled and adjusted his glasses. He drew a PokeBall and said, "Isn't it obvious? I'm experimenting on the Pokemon in the PetalBurg Woods. I'm trying to force them to evolve. So far these Pokemon have been stubborn, but I have found something better: EX Pokemon! Hahaha, I have found a way to forcefully charge up Pokemon! I shall show you the fruits of my labor! Cmon Shroomish, Roselia, and Wurmple!" He threw three PokeBalls, and appeared the Pokemon, except they all had red eyes, just like the three Shroomish and my Nincada. Colonial said, "Guys, we'll need to team up to defeat this guy! Let's battle, Bagon!!!!!!" Bastion threw a PokeBall and announced, "Time to shine, let's show em our power, Torchic!" I grabbed my PokeBall and said, "Treeko, let's finish them off." All three Pokemon appeared before us. The PokeNerd smiled and said, "After I defeat all of you, I'll take all your Pokemon for experimenting! Wahahahaha! Shroomish, Stun Spore Bagon! Roselia, use Poison Sting on that Treeko, and Wurmple, Tackle that Torchic." I said, "Treeko, dodge and use Quick Attack!" "Bagon, use Zen Headbutt," commanded Colonial. "Torchic," pointed out Bastion, "Ember attack!" The PokeNerd was busy downloading something onto a Memory Disk Drive while his Pokemon were all knocked out. He grinned and pressed another button on the keyboard. Then, the glass around the Wurmple opened and it came out. The PokeNerd yelled out, "Cmon, use String Shot on all of them!" Bastion quickly instructed, "Torchic, use Ember to destroy that String Shot attack!" We looked to the PokeNerd who had completed the download. He chuckled and said, "Now that my research is completed, I can report to my Superiors. All that's left is disposing of all of you. He selected another key and pressed it. Instantly, he bolted off to Rustboro City. We started to give chase, but our Pokemon started pulling us away. We all saw the PokeNerd's other Pokemon start to run away. Colonial must of realized something was wrong and said, "We've got to get away from here and return our Pokemon to their PokeBalls!" All of us returned them and started to sprint away. Seconds later, the whole mechanism exploded and burst into flames. The shock sent all of us flying away. I hit my head hard against a rock and passed out immediately...
Chapter 5: Sky's the Limit I woke up to see the world sideways. I found myself lying on the PetalBurg Wood's ground. I groggily sat up to see Bastion and Colonial both sitting cross-legged across from me. I tried sitting up, but found it hard to do so. Bastion got up to help me, but Colonial held him back. Bastion looked at me with sympathy and sat back down. I started to have a headache and felt my head. There was some light, but thick clothing or silk around my head. Colonial spoke silently, "There's a Wurmple to your left. It used it's String Shot to cover your wound." I slowly looked to my left to see a Wurmple looking up at me. It inched over to my outstretched hand and started to climb up my arm until it got to my shoulder. It looked at me with big, round curious eyes. I brushed it gently with my other arm, and said, "Hey there little buddy, thanks for helping me with my wounds, I really appreciate it. I think we'll need to go now, so maybe you should return to your family in the forest." It's little head shook and I could feel it's grip tighten on my shoulder. I asked, "So you want to travel with me then?" I saw it's eyes brighten up and it loosened it's grip. "Fine," I stated, "you can come with me then. I'll put you in this PokeBall." I reached into my backpack and grabbed one of my PokeBalls and said, "Okay, here's yours, Wurmple!" Then I pressed the button in the middle and the red light engulfed Wurmple and brought it into the PokeBall. I got up, but struggled. Bastion and Colonial quickly jumped up and helped me. I inquired, "Why did you restrain Bastion from helping me, Colonial?" "I apologize, but I had also tried to help you after the blast, but Wurmple nearly hit me with a Poison Sting. I think it wanted to take care of you." "Oh... Thanks." "No problem, I didn't want your buddy here, Bastion, to die." Bastion looked scared and said, "I could've died?!" Colonial looked secretive and said wryly, "You could've died... In Planets of Warcraft. See, I play it too. My name is Rumundi." "Rumundi," said Bastion in major shock, "You're the number one on the Leaderboards for Planet Pwnage!" I showed an annoyed and flat response. Colonial apologized and smiled saying, "Oh sorry, I play Planets of Warcraft." I whispered, "Nerds." Bastion raised an eyebrow. I spelled out "nerds". He looked in horror and said, "Colonial is a nerd?!" Colonial's head twitched. Then he turned around. It looked as if he was very, very pissed. He walked over to Bastion and yelled, "Would you like to say that again!?!" Bastion instantly paled and his shaking finger pointed towards me and with a quivering mouth said, "Z-Zaln s-said-d it-t..." Colonial walked over to me and got all up in my face and said, "Wellllll?!?!?" I was about to say something until a guy who looked about our age walked right past us and looked at our argument and said, "What are you Pokemon Noobs yelling about? I was lucky to catch a rare Slakoth! It nearly ran away because someone had to yell! Can't you all just shut up?!" Colonial's head twitched once more. He looked at the Trainer and announced in his face, "Pokemon Nooblets?! You shut up, I'll show you who's the Pokemon Noob!" The Trainer laughed and said, "It's Noob-BLETS! Get it right dimwit." Colonial twitched two more times and bellowed, "I CHALLENGE YOU TO A POKEBATTLE! WE'LL FIND THE NOOBLET!" The Trainer smiled and said, "Sure, sure, anyway, my name is Dan, Dan Cahill to be correct. I am the lone son of Dr. Fenton Cahill, a leading Pokemon expert. He would be number one... Unless," his voice quieted down, "it wasn't for Professor Birch. Are any of you his daughter? I'm only here to crush him." Bastion's eyes widened and he said, "Dan? Cahill? You again? Hah, I don't know if you remember me, it's me, Bastion, son of a Birch! My father IS Prof. Birch." Dan smiled and said, "I finally tracked you down. Once I finish of this guy, I'll crush you! Hahahaha! I've been searching for you! Just wait!" Colonial didn't twitch this time. Instead, he grabbed two PokeBalls and threw them at Dan. Dan covered himself and said, "Fine, let's battle then!" Two Pokemon emerged from the PokeBalls Colonial threw. They were a Trapinch and Bagon. Dan held two PokeBalls and two Pokemon appeared. It was a Mudkip and a Lotad. Bastion gasped and said, "That Mudkip is-" Dan grinned and tauntedly said, "Of course, it was a present from Birch," he then turned back to the battle and commanded, "Kipz, Water Gun that Trapinch! Use Tackle, Tado!" Colonial looked confound and said, "Kipz, Tado? What?" Dan said simply, "I nicknamed them, duh. Now attack em guys!" "Trapinch, jump in front of Bagon and use Protect," yelled Colonial. He continued, "Bagon, jump off Trapinch and into the sky! Then use Body Slam on Lotad!" Instantaneously, Trapinch deflected both Dan's Pokemon's moves, and Bagon used Body Slam on Mudkip. Dan said, "Tado, Tackle that Bagon! Use Water Gun once again on Trapinch!" "Trapinch, Dig underground! Bagon, counter that Tackle with a straight on Zen Headbutt!" As Bagon was running at Lotad with it's head ready, purple energy formed at it's head and smashed into Lotad, knocking it out. Trapinch went underground several seconds before Mudkip's Water Gun reached it. Colonial called out, "Trapinch, preform Sand Tomb!" Suddenly, the ground under Mudkip turned into sand and started spinning downwards in a vortex-style. "Let's finish it Bagon, Slam!" Bagon slammed it's entire body into Mudkip and it was knocked out. Colonial stood there, smiling saying, "Anything else? That was wayyyyy to easy for me." Dan casted an annoyed look at both Colonial and Bastion and said, "I'll have my revenge." He returned his Pokemon to there PokeBalls, paid Colonial for winning, and then left towards PetalBurg City. Colonial smiled and petted his Pokemon. Just then, Trapinch started to start shining. Both Bastion and I exclaimed, "Whoa, Trapinch is evolving!!" The light got really heavy and we all covered our eyes. We looked to see a dragon-flylike Pokemon. Colonial grinned and said, "Aha! My Pokemon is a Vibrava now!" We all looked in awe and congratulated Colonial on his win. A few minutes later, he returned his Pokemon to the PokeBalls. We grabbed our backpacks and got ready to get to Rustboro City. While we were on our way there, Colonail raised his hand and it started counting down. "Five. Four. Three. Two. One. Zero." Right on mark, we heard something, "WHAT THE HECK IS THIS BURNED THING DOING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WOODS?!?!?!?!?!?!" Bastion laughed and said, "So he got to the burnt machine that blew up." Suddenly it all came back to me and I remembered that we had been near the machine when it had exploded. As if reading my mind, Colonial explained that he and Bastion had moved me away from the explosion. I had been knocked out when I hit my head, but they just had the air knocked out of them. Suddenly I remembered the small silk headband Wurmple had put around my head. I took it off and put it in my backpack. Bastion commented, "Finally, I thought you looked weird..." I sighed and we continued ever closer to our Gym Challenge...
Chapter 6: All for Three, Three for All We passed through the woods without a problem. The only event was that Colonial picked up something from the wrecked machine that the PokeNerd destroyed. We asked what it was, but Colonial didn't want to show us. So we continued. We got to a small lake separating us from Rustboro City. While we were on it, an old fisherman waved us over and asked us if we wanted to try to fish for some Pokemon. We all accepted. Colonial was up first. After a two minutes, Colonial felt a tug and pulled up. It was a fish Pokemon, but Colonial had pulled so roughly that he sent the Pokemon into the PetalBurg Woods. Bastion was next. Within a few seconds, he found a Magikarp and caught it. He was disappointed that it was weak though. It was finally my turn. After a ten minutes or so, I found a Feebas which I easily caught with little effort (to my amazement). To my dismay, it was just as strong as Bastion's Magikarp. We thanked the fisherman and walked to Rustboro. When we got there, Colonial said, "Thank you for all of you help. It was much appreciated! Let's get each other's iPoke numbers." After we traded, Colonial held out two PokeBalls and said, "This is a gift for helping me. They contain two different Pokemon. Be careful with your choice though, you might not expect it!" I went ahead and grabbed the PokeBall in his left hand. Bastion took the other. Colonial nodded and said bye. As he left, he grabbed his iPoke and started talking as he disappeared. Bastion said, "Let's battle with our new Pokemon!" "Yeah sure!" I grabbed my new Pokemon. Bastion did likewise. Then we both threw them. When my Pokemon appeared, I used my PokeDex to identify it. So did Bastion. Mine was a Zangoose and Bastion had a Seviper. According to it, both were mortal enemies. I read Zangoose's moves and got ready for battle. Bastion smiled and said, "Heh, we'll find which Pokemon is stronger, Zangoose or Seviper! Seviper, Poison Tail!" "Zangoose, parry with a Slash attack!" I watched as both Pokemon came at each other. Seviper's tail was glowing with poison and Zangoose was using it's claws to defend itself. Bastion suddenly yelled, "Use Wrap Seviper and immobilize Zangoose!" I watched in horror as the snake Pokemon coiled itself around Zangoose, effectively trapping Zangoose. "Now, Bite that Zangoose, Seviper!" I said, "Zangoose, use Screech!" I clamped my ears shut and watched Zangoose yell out, causing Seviper to slither away. I pressed on with my attack, "Now, use Metal Claw on it!" Zangoose scampered towards Seviper, and I saw it's claws shine silver and cut Seviper. Seviper cried out. Bastion yelled, "Dangit. Seviper, Poison Tail!" I smiled and said, "Perfect." I watched as Seviper's poison-coated tail inched closer to Zangoose. I finally bellowed, "Zangoose, grab that tail and use Seismic Toss!" I looked in awe as Zangoose grabbed Seviper's tail and start swinging it in the air. As if using all it's might, Zangoose finally slammed Seviper onto the ground, effectively knocking it out. Bastion looked in horror at his knocked out Seviper. After returning it to it's PokeBall, he looked up at me and said, "It seems you got better, Zaln! Sweet, I can't wait to battle you with a full six-Pokemon Team." I congratulated Zangoose and returned him to his PokeBall. Smiling, I shook Bastion's hand and said, "You better be prepared for another smack-down my friend!" "We'll see." We went into the Pokemon Cemter to find Nurse Glutton behind the counter. She was really, really big. I wondered how she got into that desk she was in. She smiled and said, "Welcome to one of the Seven Deadly Pokemon Centers! I'm Nurse Glutton. Here, let me heal your tired Pokemon." Both of us passed her our PokeBalls. She healed them on the PokeHeal machine and said, "I see that Nurse Joi has reported you both as Pokemon Abusers." Bastion and I said, "Umm, we're very, very, very sorry. Please forgive us!" I quickly added, "With cherries on top?" The Nurse's eyes opened super wide and she said, "I think it's nothing, I'm really hungry because I skipped my 'After Breakfast Meal Number 3,' so I think I'll let you both pass and just clear your record." We were overjoyed and said our thank yous. After setting all our Pokemon back into our belts, Bastion suggested, "I'm going to challenge the Gym here. You probably need some training." I said, "I think I will train a bit. So let's go find the Gym then." "Yeah." We exited and used our iPoke Map App to search for the Gym. When we got there, the doors slid open and out stepped out Dan. He smiled when he saw us and said, "The Gym Leader was easy... That is for me. If you two hope to stand a chance, I suggest you both do a LOT of training. Hah!" I took this seriously and walked up. "Shall we battle then, Dan?" He smirked and said, "Yes, let us battle..." "My name is Zaln, and I will defeat you." "Yeah right, let's get battling then, Zaln!" Dan grabbed two PokeBalls and released the Pokemon within. There was Marshtomp and a Slakoth. He smiled and said, "What? Surprised about my Marshtomp? Yep, I evolved my Kipz!" I grabbed two PokeBalls and threw them. Out came Treeko and Nincada. Dan laughed and said, "Oh, so you haven't been able to evolve your starting Pokemon, Treeko? Pathetic. I shall crush you! Kipz, Mud Shot on Treeko! Sotho, attack that Nincada with a Scratch!" I reacted instantly. "Treeko, counter Mud Shot with Bullet Seed! Get underground with Dig, Nincada!" I watched as Kipz's attack was matched by my Treeko's Bullet Seed. Sotho's Scratch missed because Nincada had dug underground already. Dan shook his head and commanded, "Sotho, Tackle Treeko! Shoot a Water Gun into Nincada's hole." My eyes widened in realization to what was going to happen. I ordered, "Treeko, dodge Sotho's attack and use Bullet Seed on Kipz! Nincada, hit Sotho with Dig!" Nincada hit Sotho high into the air, knocking it out. Treeko hit Kipz, preventing it from taking out Nincada. Dan grabbed another Pokeball and sent out a Lombre. He grinned and said, "Yep, Tado evolved! Now, Tado, Rain Dance! Kipz, give that annoying Treeko a full-on Body Slam!" "Nincada, use Fury Cutter on Tado! Treeko, Bullet Seed again!" Kipz hurled itself at Treeko only to get repelled away by Treeko's attack. It started to pant heavily and slouch a bit. This meant Kipz was getting very weak! Tado started to wave it's hands, and clouds started to appear. Nincada luckily landed a strong Fury Cutter, also greatly weakening Tado. Then rain started to fall and we were drenched. Dan laughed and said, "Now this battle truly shows it's power! Tado, Water Gun Nincada! Kipz, finish off Treeko with Mud Shot!" I sighed and said, "Dan, don't you understand, Kipz is done for! Treeko finish with Quick Attack! Nincada, use Dig attack again!" Treeko sped toward Kipz easily knocking it out. Dam sighed and returned it to it's PokeBall. Tado's Water Gun missed as Nincada was underground. Dan said, "So I'm down to just Tado? Use Pound on Treeko!" "Treeko, Quick Attack! Nincada, use Fury Cutter from the otherside." I watched as Treeko sped and hit Tado. Then Nincada popped up from behind, cutting it and knocking it out. Dan returned his Tado. I congratulated my Pokemon and returned them. Dan came over to me and said, "Dang, to think that you won? What a fluke! Get it right, I'll challenge both of you and defeat you. I promise that!" Then he stormed off. Bastion came over to me and said, "Thanks. My Torchic couldn't win against a Marshtomp like Kipz..." I looked over to Bastion and said, "I didn't fight your battle, I fought for my honor. Now good luck with your Gym Battle. Message me on my iPoke when you're done." Bastion nodded and headed into the Gym. I turned around and walked off into Northern Rustboro...
