Is there anyone here that was truly offended by the commercial after watching it? (Not after social media told you it was offensive) Since social media has taken off, too many people think their opinion matters. The term "YouTube Commenter" is now synonymous with moron or idiot. The mentality has spilled over into forums of all kind, as I used to read thoughts and opinions of people that shared experiences with like minded individuals but now those opinions are ramped up , passive aggressive, hateful and bitter. There are more controversial commercials out there, that's what marketers want. Pepsi got the attention, money well spent. Cuz did anyone stop drinking Pepsi after that reveal? So, did you find the commercial went to far? Why?
>The term "YouTube Commenter" is now synonymous with moron or idiot. It was always the case though. Youtube's comment section has always been the worst. As for the commercial itself, I've found it to be just really dumb. Not offensive, but I can see why it would anger some folks.
Pretty much exactly what I was going to say. It's not really offencive it's just funny and niave  just embrace the memes and laugh at it
Please tell me how folks can get angered, if a commercial like that can anger someone, they have some deep seated issues. There are far too many 'actual' things to be angry about.
You could be angry about it because it implicates that police brutality and unification of people can only be achieved through sharing pepsi. It's a dumb thought and some people get angry at dumb people.
People don't know what protesting is anymore. They pretty much cry over everything. You want to know what to really protest over? When your government say they're fighting terrorism, while they supply and train those said terrorists to terrorize other countries. Then you can protest your government over supplying terrorists with chemical agents and storing them near civilians thinking they would be some sheild. Nope, back fired hard and now they are pointing the finger at the innocent side. But, yeah. Protest for Pepsi and people being offended is all you care about.
People were upset about it because it trivialized the black lives matter movement. Ultimately I think it also plays down the sacrifices people have historically taken in utilizing protests. It was an effort to promote unity but "Pepsi clearly missed the mark"
Im pretty sure every protest doesn't have to do with blm, in fact I don't pepsi even mentioned it in the commericial
People were upset with it because it contained pandering and made light of serious issues. There was a riot, everyone had a smile on there face... Kendall Jenner was there for some star power. The fact pepsi were so obvious with their multiculturism. Basically, it was an ad for idiots. Oh btw, MLK's daughter spoke up and said something like "If only daddy knew the power of Pepsi". Also the horrible product placement scenes. Smh. But SJW's are going bonkers.
