Hope you enjoy the intro! [Beep] So what am I supposed to do anyway? I’m supposed to recount my adventures? Well, that depends on what you’re going to do with them. Archive them? Archive them?! What, you just want me to tell it so you can store it and get rid of it? No, no, no, no, no, no, NO! I won’t do it. Turn this recorder off too! [Smashing sound, and tape is cut off] [Beep] I’m sorry I smashed the recorder, blah blah blah. But I am getting paid, right? [Beep] [Beep] So this adventure of mine, took place when I was about fifteen, two years ago. I had no friends, and no social life to speak of. First, no second, I should’ve done this first. Oh well, my name is Craw. Dumb name right? Right you are. I’ll tell you who I work for. I work for the S.I.T.T.E.R.S.A., which is a really dumb acronym. I mean, Superheroes In Training To Enable Rampant Supervillains’ Arrest? Worst name ever! Even worse, it spells sitter! Like I’m going to some babysitting facility. All the other superhuman schools for teens laugh at us. I go to this school, but my parents disapprove. Just because your parents are ordinary, doesn’t mean I am. My power? Well, it’s kind of hard to explain. I wish sometimes I had luck powers like Jordan, or fire powers like Jerad, or maybe mind- control powers, like Leah. Teleportation, not so much. Back to my power, I used to not be able to control it, at least before I went to S.I.T.T.E.R.S.A. My power is I can do anything, makes me do anything, but it only involves me. So I could have fire powers, or teleportation, but I could only affect me. No one else. Also back then; it was my subconscious that controlled it, not me. In dodge ball, if my subconscious didn’t want to get hit and hit everyone else on the other team, I would miraculously dodge every single ball, and every ball I threw would hit. But if I just thought it, nuh uh. But am I boring you with the details? Fine then, I’ll tell you my story after lunch. [Beep]
[Beep] So… my story, right? Ok, it started happening when I was about fourteen. When I say it, I mean my adventure. Of course I didn’t know it, but something big was about to happen, I was actually going to fit in at high school. At S.I.T. High, I wasn’t considered popular, but I wasn’t completely alone. Well I was, until day three. Wait, I’ll start over. I’m not so good at this storytelling thing yet. Okay so I was fourteen, and just getting adjusted to school. Since I don’t make friends easily, even in a school for superheroes, everyone ignored me. I walked inside the school, and observed the view. There were the cool kids, the trying-to-look-cool kids, and the uncool kids. The social class was pretty much divided by powers, and no one had seen mine yet, seeing as I couldn’t use it at will. “For academics, there were the brainy kids, the average, the low, and the ones with no brain.” I covered my mouth and hung low, realizing everyone had heard me. I walked nonchalantly out of the main hall, keeping my head low. Then came Phys. Ed. “Listen up sissies! Here we see if you’ve got what it takes to become a superhero!” I winced. The teacher, or “coach,” as he wanted us to call him, had assembled us into a line. He was going down the line, yelling inches away from our faces. Nobody really liked the spit, but he instantly seemed to hate me when he made eye contact. “Listen kid, this is how it works. I test your power, and mark you from one to ten.” I could actually feel his anger being taken out on me. Or was that sweat? Or both? I refuse to give you the details of my test. It was, long story short, a disaster in all areas but one, which was Elite fighting skills. My powers weren’t useful yet. Other people went, and all but a few astounded the coach. There was fire, ice, mind control, super strength, teleportation, and more. After class was over, I walked out, angry at myself for failing, then at my sub-consciousness for not working. I walked down the hallway, ready to go home, my sub-conscious made me duck, as a stone fist flew right over where my head had been. I looked up to see a stone user, a newly named bully. Did I want to know his name? No. Another brave hero would’ve fought back and maybe won, and I considered myself a sort-of brave hero. But what did I do? Turned and ran, of course. [Beep]
[Beep] I didn’t turn to see if the bully was still chasing me, and ran outside to the school football field. There was a slight rumbling, and I dove to the right, in the exact same moment he erupted from the ground. I really was panicking, and the bully really was smiling. I wanted to say something really great, like “I’ll take care of you real quick!” But what came out was, “L-l-leave me alone!” Really. I really wanted to punch myself. The bully smiled a smile that never reached his eyes. Roaring, he slammed his hands into the ground, and a wall of solid limestone appeared in a ring around us. I was caged in, trapped, lured, and stupid. Solid bricks started coming out of the wall, and I stayed still. Yet my sub-conscious made me dodge it in moves I didn’t know I could pull off. It was steadily getting darker, and I looked up to see the light above getting smaller. He was trapping me in. So at any chance I had where I wasn’t dodging, I screamed, “HELLLLPPPPP!!!” This went on for about twenty minutes, and I was surprised no one was paying attention. Finally, there came a time when I collapsed from exhaustion. I didn’t cry for help, for I could barely manage more than a squeak. As I was convinced I was going to die, the wall exploded in an explosion of fire and limestone. I turned my head to see Jerad, my first high school friend. [Pause] Uh, I’m kinda hungry. But I’m getting into this. So can someone get me like, a large pepperoni pizza? Hey, I’m Jerad. I think it’s my turn. Four o’clock, right? Okay. Craw, get out. Ohhh. The pizza’s here. I guess you could stay a little longer. But first, let’s eat! [Beep]
[Beep] Okay, I’m full. So I’ll continue the story. So I’m walking past the football field on my way home, and I hear this kid screaming, “HELP! HELP!” I looked toward the football field, thinking that is was Geo, the school bully, a rock user. Boy, was I surprised to see Geo already using his best attack maneuver, the limestone dome. A tallish girl, with cream-like skin, and coffee brown hair. She was wearing a thick green scarf and a beanie, with jeans, a sweater, and knee-high boots. As she passed by me, and I struggled to remember her name. Jackie, Jill, Jordan! She was kind of cute, but I already had a girlfriend. What was her name? Susan, I think. I popped my head back to reality, to see Jordan shaking her head. “That kid is doomed,” she clucked sympathetically. “Nothing I can do.” She walked past, hunched over, and seemed to shrink, as if she was hiding from me. Judging from the fact that no friends seemed to be following her, she was probably a shy individual that hid behind her books. Still, she didn’t seem too bad. Oh, right! I had forgotten all about Craw. So after Jordan disappeared, I noticed the screaming had stopped, but Geo’s attacks could still be heard. So, using a really cool trick I made up, I changed into the teletubbies and mauled Geo. Just kidding, I can use fire, so I transformed my lower legs into fire so I could fly. Steadily gaining speed, I built up a massive ball of fire, so big I looked like a flying flame boy with a ball of fire over my head. I’m not so good with similes. All it took from me was to charge right into the dome. Pretty sick huh? What time is it? Six o’clock? Okay, I have another hour to tell the story. So there he was, the innocent little boy I heard screaming, on his knees, looking exhausted. Geo immediately busted down his dome, and sunk into the ground right after seeing me. “Wuss!” I called after him, helping Craw up. “Hey, freshman, try not to need to go to the ER on your first day, got it? What’s your name?” He got up, and dusted himself off, and looked up. For some reason he had one blue eye and a black one with a gold iris. He blinked, and his eyes changed back to blue. “Craw,” he replied, shaking my hand. “Thanks for the help.” I figured he would run away in fear, but he looked firm and confident. “My power sucks. Yours, now that’s a power.” He started walking away, and I was thinking, What is with this kid? Oops, it’s late, and I need dinner. Night. [Beep]
[Beep] Hi, uh… am I in the right place? I’m Jordan by the way, and eighteen years old. So I am in the right place? Is that a recorder? Umm.. I should probably just get start- I’ll just start now. So… I guess I’m walking pass the football field, and there’s this kid screaming his head off. Blah blah. So as I’m walking away, I notice the rich girl, Leah Tanos. I walk up, about to say hi, because I wanted to make a good impression. I mean, who doesn’t? But then I notice her eyes. Instead of being green, they’re glowing an ominous black, with no pupil or color at all. She also has this evil grin on her face, and I’m like wow! She looked like she was staring directly at the rock dome in the football field; I assumed she had like super eyesight or something. Just then I hear a crash, and by instinct I glance over to the football field, and see the cute guy- I mean Jerad floating over the rock dome, smoldering, the rock dome in shambles. Geo staggers away, rubbing his head. Then I notice another scrawny kid stand up, thank Jerad, and walk away. I’m about to go up to Jerad and talk to him, but then I remember Leah. I turn my head back, and she’s got her normal green eyes, and cheery smile. As she walks away, I’m thinking, wow, what a messed up girl. This is NOT jealousy speaking by the way, even though she’s popular, and daughter of Tanocos Tanos, ruthless billionaire. Look at her family now, her grandpa’s dead, her mom’s stuck somewhere between Siberia and Greenland (not exaggerating), she’s in jail, and her dad is going on trial. They’re deciding whether to put him in an insanity institute, or jail for life. Me? I’m still single, unpopular, with about six trustworthy friends, or less. I’ve got it bad. Okay, not too bad. Next day? P.E. WORST THING EVER. Second day of P.E., and I notice that Jerad, the scrawny kid, Leah, and a girl I think is named Emily is there. I’m surprised because I remembered most of their names. “Listen up!” Coach has a habit of yelling louder than necessary, because everyone is dead quiet anyway. “Today we play a game of tag! Use whatever means necessary to play!” I’m thinking, tag? Lame! But then he goes around and passing these wristbands around. “What are these for?” I ask to the person next to me, who would be the scrawny kid. “Dampers your powers, so no power is lethal. You could still get seriously injured though. Great, I think. Just great. “GO!” the Coach shouts, and everyone takes off. I’ll explain my power here. If I bear malicious intent to someone, bad things happen to him or her. Voodoo. Technically, it’s bad luck powers. A kid tried to tackle me, speeding in faster than sound. By “chance,” he happened to slip on a puddle, and went flying straight into a tree (we play tag outside). I started a laugh, but it ended in a groan as I toppled head over heels when I was tagged. After about ten minutes, I tagged someone, who happened to be Jerad. All he did was stand there on fire, and other people caught on fire, which meant they were it. With multiple people it, I hid in a tree, and watched everyone else. Jerad was chasing after the plant users, and Leah was just standing there, as no one even came near her, which was strange. But the most unusual thing? Even the kids that could fly chased the scrawny kid all over, but no one could catch him. As I watched him, I looked closely, and there were kids speeding along faster than sound, yet he still ran faster. I assumed he had super speed, but I make too many assumptions. Not only was he running away, but also he was dodging each and every obstacle. From blazing meteors, to killer insects, to flying pandas (There are some strange powers). He dodged them all. But there was a problem. Large as the space was, we weren’t allowed to leave school grounds, and he was cornered. [Beep]
[Beep] Yo! Craw here, I heard you were going to visit Leah in prison to record her. Don’t. You could get controlled. So don’t. Instead. I’ll tell the story. Being cornered is not fun. Especially when you’re cornered by a bunch of people you know can beat the crap out of you. Even so, being cornered by a whole bunch of people you know can beat the crap out of you with superpowers is even worse. So you’re really lucky if you can do parkour right? I can now. Fourteen, definitely NOT. Panicking, I looked around to look for any openings, or ways out, but to no avail, there were none. To no avail? I’m starting to sound like I’m a medieval seventy year old. Have you ever argued to yourself in your head? It’s kinda one-sided since you’re arguing with yourself. But I’m really surprised when I hear someone in my head that isn’t me. Nobody at our school could read minds, you know? Those kids go to a school called Psycho-Freaks. Seriously. Thought I was joking? No. I’m really not. Anyway, I hear a, “OI!! You really suck Craw! Just lemme take it from here!” “NO!” I yell in reply, I could sorta tell it was my subconciousness, or I had two personalities. If you will, I do have two personalities. Three, actually, including me. [Mood change] Sup freaks. Lake here, Craw ditched, so you’re stuck with me. You think I’m kidding? You think it’s still Craw? Wait until I punch you. Then you’ll see the difference. Later, Maia will be out. She’s Cra- my third personality. Yeah, a she. Crazy huh? Craw really was sucking, and I wanted to help. But for some reason, he was fighting really hard for control of the body, and winning. So I decided to kick back and watch. It’s not so boring inside his head you know? I got to see a lot of interesting things in there, like how he wet his bed last year, and he has a crush on that girl, Emily. [Mood change] LAKE! If Emily hears this, you’re DEAD! YOU HEAR ME??? DEADD! [Mood change] Umm. Hi! I’m Maia, I… I’m not prepared! Bye! [Beep] [Beep] Hi, Emily here, did Craw come in here earlier? I heard someone inside, fighting with Lake. He is strange, but friendly in that way. Since Craw was the first person I met in America, I know a lot about him. It’s because of me he doesn’t walk to school everyday. I talked to Jordan earlier, and she said that she talked about tag last. The first P.E. First, I’ll explain how I met Craw. I was coming in from the airport, and was about to teleport to school. To teleport, I focus on an area I’ve seen before, and sort of wish to be there. I hadn’t been to school, but I had seen the school in a picture from a…brochure? It doesn’t sound right, but I’ll stick with brochure. The thing is, the school is more or less hidden in some sort of bubble made of material that makes ordinary people look the other way, so they don’t see the gigantic 400-story building in front of them. The picture was taken from the ground, and near Craw’s house, so half the building was blotted out by his house. Even though it was there, I was real surprised when I ended up standing on his breakfast. Looking around, I was really shocked, but really embarrassed. I simply muttered, “Sorry, sorry, I’ll just be going now.” I got off of his breakfast, and walked out what I saw was the front door. It was really misleading. Sunlight was flooding through the windows when I looked at it, but what was behind the door was a cat. Floating. Glowing. In midair. Creepy. I turned around to leave, only to see the other boy standing behind me. I expected a, “Who are you?” or a “What did you just do?” or even, “What kinda sick freak are you?” But nope, he extends his hand for a handshake and says, “Hi, I’m Craw. Do you go to S.I.T.T.E.R.S.A.?” “Uhh, yeah,” is all I manage for an answer. There’s something wrong with his eyes. His eyes keep flashing from blue, to an evil yellow, to a soft brown. I’m thinking, Craw, are you stupid? You live right in front of the school! Suddenly his eyes change into the evil looking yellow, and he changes. What used to be short, black hair turned into long silver hair that sticks straight up. “We can hear you, and Craw is an idiot. So teleport back to school and leave!” Now I know this story is really confusing, but I was really confused at that point. His eyes suddenly turned blue again, and he replies, “Sorry, I have two other persons inside of me.” Like it was the answer to everything! I shake my head a few times and blink. He is still there. So I was in America, and I wasn’t dreaming. Ok, everything is clear now. “You know if you don’t hurry, you’ll be late for school,” he states, walking out the door. I follow, afraid to teleport for a little bit, because I don’t know if I might end up teleporting myself two hundred stories up. He reaches into nowhere, and pulls a backpack out of nowhere! Creepy. I open my mouth to ask a question, but he takes off at supersonic speed. I was stuck walking to school. Now during the first P.E., I was already pretty good friends with Craw and Maia, but not Lake. He’s a jerk. So as I see Craw rapidly approaching that corner, but I reconsider. How is he supposed to be good at anything if I always help him? Instead I keep watching. The other guy, Jared, is closing in from above. Instead of being cornered and tagged, he disappears. Then pops up right above me! He was flying toward me head first, and ended up flooring me. Immediately seeing me on the ground, he gets up and offers me a hand, apologizing. “Are you okay? I’m real sorry Emily, didn’t mean to do that!” I don’t take his hand like a good girl would. No, I punch him! Then I kick him, then I started yelling a whole bunch of obscure things in French I wouldn’t like to include here. First P.E., done. [Beep] [Beep]Hi, it’s Jared, I’m back! Whatever, let’s just get this over with. I need to call Jordan about something. The homework is confusing. Also, Craw told me you were paying him to tell this. Why aren’t you paying me? How much are you paying him? Thirty bucks an hour? Well then I better get my thirty bucks after this. Six months after the first day of school, I see Craw again. He’s with the new French transfer student, Emily Fauchete. I wondered if they were together as a couple, but then I figured out they weren’t. They were talking to each other, but no signs beyond friendliness you know? Anyway, I had a free period, so I walked to the soccer field. It really was basically a stadium, and I flew to the top and inside since I figured the gates were locked. Inside, Emily and Craw were playing soccer, but I noticed Jordan watching from the stands, almost invisible since she was staying stone still. Craw was shooting on Emily, but Emily always got to the ball. Craw would shoot a ball so fast it seemed to disappear, but Emily would always save it. I flew closer, and took a chance. “I bet you guys I can beat you in a game of soccer individually. If I win, I get to drop you both from the top of school, and you won’t die, since I know you won’t.” Kicking up the ball in the air, Craw asked, “What if we win?” As he said that, he caught flipped up in the air and caught it between his feet, landing solid on the ground.[Beep]
