I thought I would give my assessment of different rumours that have been circulating regarding how mithril might be used. Some are speculating that Mithril might have several new uses, and here I'll rank how likely each of the rumours I've heard seem, from most propbable to least probable. 1. Mithril will be needed for new ebs. Evidence: The update changed the lowest cost troop and spy spells to 1 mith and 4 hrs, rather than 3 mith and 12 hrs. There doesn't seem to be much rationale for this as the game is currently played, but it would make sense if there were ebs that required mithril use so players didn't have to expend large amounts of mithril to complete small parts of an eb. Aside: There's been talk of ebs that hit back. I see no evidence for this, and it would be a dumb idea anyways. Either you make more or less in these ebs than you do in current ones. (I don't care if I make 40m/hit on an eb or make 60m but on average lose 20m/hit due to the eb hitting me back). Also it would discourage ppl from hitting ebs if they have gold out: If I'm working on my 300b land I don't want an eb taking my gold, and if I'm about to go to sleep I don't want my allies to sell and the eb to take my gold. Basically it encourages ppl not to hit ebs. 2. There is no new use for mith. Evidence: If there really were a use for mith, the devs would be screaming for us to buy it while we can, rather than giving a vague "war is coming" rationale. I'd think they'd tip their hats a little more to what was coming if they wanted the mith to sell and thereby make more off xtal and nob sales. 3. New items purchasable for mith. Evidence: there's a slot in the Alchemist for items, suggesting that it will function as an item store as well as a spell store. Of course, that was there when they first rolled out mith, and we haven't seen items yet. Remember that we were promised bonuses for cheevos too, and it's been there in our profiles for years. 4. T5 coming out and needs mith to build: Evidence: I've seen no evidence whatsoever to support this thought. Also, it's not clear why this would be a good idea. Any other rumours I haven't considered? Any thoughts on my rankings or rationales?
I really love the fact you out evidence and your point of view after it, just saying. On your first one, the changes are temporary, they will not last. Mithril will not be and shouldn't be how you build T5, I believe that's a very bad idea. Some people have stacked loads of Mithril and the people who can't win wars will get weaker and weaker as the strong get stronger and stronger.
Just because you have not seen something doesn't mean it isn't true. And while devs may not be screaming at you to do something. Is it really there job to force you to be ready for something that may happen.
@slayer: Are the changes to spells temporary? Haven't seen that said. @A1: Granted, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. But one can only go on the evidence one has and do the best you can with that. It's possible the devs have something up their sleeve and are keeping it secret...I just consider it somewhat unlikely that they wouldn't hint more strongly that something was coming to get mith sales up, not that they are obliged to tell us what's coming. You disagree? Feel free to explain why.
Take a look on kaw's Facebook page just heard something interesting about war tournaments and enchanting equipment. Maybe something to do with the mith sales
Not T5. I'm gonna guess for a certain amount of mith you'll be able to either upgrade your equipment, or change the colors. Either way, I just spent another 10b on mith.
Sorry Gregor I wasn't trying to imply you where wrong. I had just heard that right as I was going to post a reply.
I am guessing another use for Mithril would be a raw material used to refine/enchant equipments.. Xin
Mithril is good for a temporary stat increase on an eb that your clan needs a lot of help on and anyone that actually knows a damn thing about the law would know that no evidence=no body believes it And if the devs were to add everything needed to make everything in this game make sense,we would have misc buildings, permanent items available for gold/nobility and God knows what else
