Although it may come as no surprise, it's never been officially quantified by data. A new study by Princeton university has confirmed that corruption in the United States is both REAL and LEGAL. It found that unless you are in the top 10% of income earners, congress will not pass laws that benefit the bottom 90%. The data supporting the finding precedes Citizens United - the data goes back 20 years. I'm not really sure what more I can say about this to keep the OP long enough to keep from getting /eagled, but that's pretty much it. What do you guys and gals think?
This is true. It's very sad as well. In the world we live in, money really does speak. If you've got enough green, anything can get done. Example: common core was written by bill gates while he was on his private airline plane. Now it's being implemented in schools nation wide. Bill gates is one of the richest men in the world, I believe, maybe it's just the country. Don't know, don't care about him lol Anyway, I don't know why anyone would even want to do a study on this. It's the obvious....
It needed to be done. Plausible deniability is no longer a viable defense under the bright light of supporting, peer reviewed data.
This is very true. And I'm sure it's not like this only in the U.S. It's a shame what our world is coming to. I'm sure if the founding fathers of most countries knew what their country came out to be, they'd be rolling over in their graves.
Can you explain that sentence more in depth? I'm kinda tired, so, Ummm, thinking is hard for me atm... P.s. I've never been good at trying to figure out intellectual sentences unless I'm the one saying them..... Idk how I got a act score of 22 in English lmao
Ah. Yes. This is very true. The saying "History repeats itself" never fails. Then again, we can't expect a government system to be perfect. I doubt it was perfect back in the founding Father's Day either. I think the average span for a government is a little over 200 years? Meaning that eventually, the government will fall as it did with all other counties. Such as the Roman Empire I think it was, that fell after 200 years. May be wrong on that, so don't hold it to me. But the U.S. Is set on a road to falling. In school, yes, I'm still in school and yes, I fully understand our government system, we were told by our civics teacher that our government will probably fall either in our lifetime or our children's lifetime.
History will not repeat this time. To form an effective rebellion you need two things: secure communication and privacy, both of which we've handed over in the name of security thanks to the fiction known as "terrorism."
Very true. Nothing in this world is private anymore. And also, it seems people are beginning to get too "afraid" to stand up for what they believe in.
Yep. That's a bad thing though. Being afraid to say anything because you fear someone will come and do something. Pretty sure the government wasn't intended to have this much power back when the constitution was written.
Congress is laying the foundation for a police state where corporations control the government more overtly than they already do. They just passed a bill that will allow corporations and government to share data about American citizens. How many citizens do you think are calling their representatives asking congress to pass that law?
