We've all walked out of a sketchy theater thinking how the book was waaaaaaaay the frick better, how the plot got butchered, (Cough. Percy Jackson. Cough.) and how hot the actors were. Um. Anyway. Point is, it can't always be that way. There are a few movies that were actually superior. An example I think nobody can deny is How To Train Your Dragon. One of my personal ones that some people disagree with is The Hobbit. Both parts, and assumably the third one. That's all I can think of because I'm lazy. What other ones are out there?
The hunger games were butchered. Similar to the book, but character roles were taken out that were vital later on in the series :| divergent wasn't butchered as much, and is actually really close to the book. I am number 4 is the only movie I've ever seen follow almost exactly like the book did. They did take a couple things out, but what movie doesn't? That'd be like a 3-5 hour movie  I don't think I've seen a movie that was superior to the book.
Correct answer is there isn't.. There's never been a movie based on a book that was better than said book.. I can promise you that
I hated the percy jackson movies. Those people that made the movies are horrible people and should feel bad.
I experienced physical pain while reading How To Train Your Dragon but the movie is one of my favorites.
Snowman.. This is a great topic!!️ Here's my example.. The Mist IMO was way better in the movie form than the book.. *especially the end!
Not a big Anne Rice fan and not a vampire nut but if you've ever read and seen the book and movie "Interview With A Vampire" you'll see that the movie script dialogue matches the text in the book literally WORD FOR WORD. This is the only movie interpretation of a book I've seen that does this. It was a really good movie (although not a fav) and I think it matches the mood of the book as close as any book/movie that I've read/seen, and the movie was produced very well ...better then book? IDK
