Hello KaW! I'm just here to ask a question. I've been looking into a new phone because my HTC only lasted 11 months  and I found the "Xiaomi Mi4", which seemed a cheap, yet good phone. So I'm just asking if there is anyone here using MiUI, is it good? Does it work well? Is it worth getting for a non-Mandarin speaker? Please only comment if you have something worth saying. Thanks,
I'm not gonna go into the details, but after a close look, the Xiaomi is better and is almost half the price.
I'm just not sure, I've never heard of the brand before I was researching phones a month ago, and I'm not sure how good the system is, which us what can ultimately define a phone
Well the logic dictates if it's half the price of an iPhone it will be half as good as an iPhone.. You're welcome
Actually, looking into it, the reason why it is so cheap is, rather than creating humongous profit margins, Xiaomi make tiny profits. Did you know the iPhone 5 cost under $15 dollars to make or something like that.
You can get beats for hundreds of euros, or a pair of cheap headphones with better audio for €10. You catch my drift? Branding makes this statement invalid.
Yeah, because comparing to a ridiculously cheap item is a very accurate way to show that expensive = better? Lol
MIUI is just a "skinned" Android. That's all. So is as good as Android is. And about Xiaomi, they make amazing phones. Unfortunately kinda hard to get one in "western world".
Y'all are missing my point...I'm agreeing with you. You always get what you pay for doesn't mean that you have to spend more to get something that works for you. It means that ppl always make purchase decisions based on their wants and needs. If you buy 10$ headphones, you get what u pay for bc they are cheap and work well enough for you. If you buy the Beats, you get what u pay for bc they are branded and make a statement worth more to you than 10$. I never said you don't pay more for name branded packaged crap. You get what you pay for whether you are buying expensive stuff or off-brand stuff. I def like to save a buck or two here and there, but I couldn't cheap out on my phone. For something I use more than anything else, I decided to spend more. My dad rarely uses his phone and therefore couldn't justify spending a ton so he uses a flip phone. If you want a cheaper phone, buy it, keep the box and receipt and if you don't like it, I can't imagine the retailer won't take it back if you want to ug after a week or two of use. (I use the 10$ headphones)
