  1. "A string of mysterious disappearances has the city in panic as to what could be going on." said the news reporter as I looked up from my cereal. "So far twenty-two people have walked out of their homes in the middle of the night without saying a word to their loved ones and never retu..." My father cut the tv off before I could hear the rest. "You don't need to watch that crap," he said to me as he sat down. "You mean the news?" I laughed out. "Exactly," he said. "Its just propoganda that no one really cares about." I just looked down and continued to eat my cereal. As hard as I tried, I couldn't get that story out of my head. "Could thing it's Saturday," I said as I snuck into my father's junkyard. This is where I go to... Um... "practice." I've been coming here every chance I get since these abilities showed up. It's where I know I can be alone and destroy things without being discovered. I picked up an old hubcap and looked it over. "Perfect," I said to myself. I closed my eyes and felt the energy surge through my body. It was an amazing feeling. My body gets warm and tingly to the extreme. I can feel the electricity start in my chest and make it's way to my fingertips. The whole event lasts less than a second. I threw the hubcap into the air like a frisbee and focused on it. I quickly brought my hand up and brought forth the power that I had stored inside me. Blue electricity flowed through my fingers and hit the hubcap, making it go higher into the air. I then brought up my left arm and shot it again, making it go even higher. Now here is the real fun, I thought to myself. I brought both arms straight down to where they were pointed to the ground and shot my bolts out. The force of my blasts propelled me through the air towards my target. I was gaining on my target quickly. Hopefully I hadn't overjudged the distance or height because if I had, I would be falling right into a scrap metal pile and that would not be good. I waited until I was slightly over my target and shot at it again, causing it to shoot to the ground quickly. The blast did just what I wanted it to. Now, I wasn't going forward but just straight up and soon, straight down. I looked around for a while just taking in the scenery of metal and junk, when my eyes caught something strange. There seemed to be a big metal cage in the middle of the junkyard. What was even stranger was the fact that it was filled with people. I waited until I was close to the ground so I could lower myelf with ease by controlling the force of my currents. I had perfected this technique a good four years ago and loved it. When I got to the ground I quickly made my way towards where I saw the cage. It was perfectly hidden among the heaping piles of metal so detection from the sky was nearly impossible. Thankfully, I was at the right angle to see it. I made my way over to the cage as stealthily as I could. When I got there I noticed all of the people looking around scared and confused. They seemed to be trying to shout but no words were coming out. This frightened them even more. I looked around for the owner of the cage but couldn't see anyone else there. As I was about to make my presence known, I heard a whistling sound from my right. I quickly jumped back behind the car I was hiding behind and watched. "Are you hungry, my dears?" Asked the man to his group, "I have made you some food to snack on." As he spoke I looked him up and down. He was a tall man, probably around 6'5". He was very skinny and seemed to be carrying a cane. As to what purpose I couldn't figure out, he was neither limping nor did he seem to be handicapped. He was wearing a strange purple shirt that was tight at the torso and but puffed out around his shoulders, then it got tighter at his skinny, little arms. His pants were purple with black stripes and were tight all the way down to his black boots. He was very pale and had dark black hair that seemed well looked after on top of his head. "Ah, I forgot the soup!" He exclaimed. After he left I took the opportunity to get closer to the mysterious group of people. I snuck around to the back of the cage so that I wouldn't be easily seen if he came back. As I was sneaking up, a girl happened to turn and notice me. She was a very pretty girl and appeared to be about my age. She had long, dark brown hair that flowed past her shoulder. Wow, I thought to myself, she is gorgeous. She was tan and had a beautiful face that shocked me at how perfect it was. "What's going on?" I asked her. She just stared at me and mouthed a silent explanation. Somehow she couldn't talk. "Well I'm going to get y'all out of here," I whispered to her. I looked at the bars intently trying to figure out how I was going to get them out. They were extremely thick and strong metal bars that had been welded to the top and bottom of the cage. Just as I was inspecting them, the girl's foot hit the bar and caused me to look up at her. Her eyes were a beautiful hazel and seemed to be pleading with me or trying to warn me. She was looking down at me and then back up at some point behind me. I stood up to turn around, but it was too late. I felt a strong pain hit the back of my head and fell unconscious.

  2. I woke up to a throbbing pain at the back of my head and cold metal touching my skin. I reached my hand up to touch my wound. I felt a warm, thick liquid on the back of my head. Blood, I thought as I looked at my now bloody hand. I looked around my new prison and saw that it was full of other people sleeping. That's when everything came rushing back to me. I remembered practicing with my powers, finding the cage, the girl, and then going unconscious. After several minutes of exploring the cage I found the girl from earlier asleep in a corner. She was curled up in a ball like a scared little kid. Who could blame her, I thought. I started to walk over to her but decided it was best to wait to find answers to my questions until after she wakes up.
When I finally woke back up it was around noon. All of the people around me were crowding the bars holding their hands out and waving. But no one was yelling. They would open their mouths and try as hard as they could but no sound came out. It was truly disturbing. The man from earlier came back to the cage at 3 pm sharp. He was whistling the same creepy song as the last time I saw him. He wore the same exact clothes and carried his cane with him, which I now noticed had several holes in it's side. "Ah," he said as he looked at me. "Our newest visitor is awake." I stared at him and tried to reply back but couldn't. It felt like something was choking me and wouldn't let go. The words burned in my mouth but went no further. He smiled as he looked into my shocked and angry eyes. "A cat got your tongue?" He asked tauntingly. I just glared at him. Bastard, I thought to myself. "Oh! Not in the mood to joke??" He asked me as he brought his cane to his mouth. "Well, how about dancing?" As he blew into his cane I felt my entire body go limp. And then, with a sudden leap forward, my body started twirling around. What the hell, I thought. "You don't want to play with The Piper," the man said. "So how about The Piper plays with you?"

  3. The Piper spun me around for what felt like hours. He kept playing the same tune over and over again. It was driving me crazy. I was feeling exhausted and could do nothing to stop myself from spinning to my eminent death. Who is this evil man, I thought to myself. Finally, the man stopped playing his cane, which I realized was also a long flute. I slumped to the ground like a dead body would. I was too exhausted to move but couldn't bring myself to fall asleep. I didn't want to be caught off guard by him when I woke up. I made sure I kept my eyes locked onto him while he moved around the junkyard. He had the same routine everyday. At 3 pm he would play his flute and force us, his prisoners, to dance or perform some heinous act on an animal or person of his choosing. It was disgusting. One morning as I was sitting with the mysterious girl from before, an ideas crossed my mind. Why hadn't I thought of it before? I smiled to myself and decided to put my plan into motion the next time he paid a visit to our cage.
When 3 pm finally came around, I noticed I was shaking with anticipation. This plan of mine would either lead to our freedom or further captation. I stood up and walked over to the bars facing the direction he always entered from. I grabbed hold of the bars tightly and looked around. Everyone was sitting on the ground. Perfect, I thought. I let the energy take over enough to send an electric current throughout the entire cage. I heard everyone's yelps of pain and saw my fellow captives slump to te ground. I let go of the bars and walked over to them one by one, checking their pulses. They were all alive, just unconscious. The Piper entered from the way he always did and looked surprised to see everyone but me unconscious. "What happened here??" He yelled at me. I pointed up to my mouth and shook my head, indicating the obvious. He began shaking with rage and brought the flute to his lips. He played a little tune that enabled me to speak again. "Now let me out of this cage and then I will tell you," I said to him. His face was pale with anger. I could only imagine what he would do to me if I failed at my plan. He walked over to the cage and swung open a few bars from the cage which I could have sworn was solidly connected. I stepped out and stared at him. "Well???" He asked. I looked him up and down and finally my eyes rested on his. They were squinted at me in anger. I had grown to hate this man, but I couldn't bring myself to follow through with the end of my plan. I couldn't kill him. "Enough!" He shrieked at me. As he raised his flute to his lips I flicked my hand out, landing small volt upon his left shoulder. He screamed in surprise and spun to the ground. But just as soon as his knees hit the ground he was up again, swinging his cane/flute at me in furious rage. "You bastard!" He yelled. I tried dodging his swings but he was extremely adept at his way of fighting. "You could use some batting practice." I laughed at him, trying to thrown him off guard. His anger immediately flaired at this comment and gave me enough time to strike back. I ran towards him and landed an electric powered punch square on his jaw. He shot through the air and landed in a pile a few feet away. He slowly leaned up and looked at me. I looked down and noticed his flute laying next to me. He jumped up and ran at me with the speed of a jaguar but was too late. My foot landed in the middle of his flute, breaking it clean in half. He let out an ear piercing shriek and shriveled to the ground. Just then, I heard the other prisoners behind me stir. I turned and ran over to the cage, sliding onto the floor of it just as the man at the far end began to wake up. "What happened?" He asked me. That's when I made up the story of how a masked man came to our rescue. I described to him what I "saw", trying to keep myself clear of any suspicion. And that was the day that the electrically powered superhero, Voltage, was born.

  4. Captain Indestructible jumped out of bed. Who the hell would be calling this early, he thought. He finally made it to the phone. "Hello," he said impatiently.
"When was the last time you heard from Mr. Inevitable?" A man asked. It was DeadEye. "I'm not sure. Not since that night. Why?" Indestructible asked.
"I think he has gone missing," DeadEye replied. "He usually contacts me every so often just to check in on all of us."
"Not like he needs to," mumbled Indestructible. "He can see everything we are doing or going to do."
"He isn't invincible like some people we know," DeadEye retorted. Captain Indestructible chuckled at that remark. "Well, I'm going back to sleep. I'll let you know if I hear anything," he said as he hung up the phone. By then his eyes had adjusted to the darkness and he took his time walking back to his bed. His eyes caught a glimpse of a picture so he stopped and looked at it. It was a picture of Team Amazing. His team. His family. There they were, so young and naive. It seems like ages, he thought. In the beginning it was himself, DeadEye, Mr. Inevitable, Majórna, and Mrs. Wonderful. Sure, people cycled in and out of the team because of death or new talented kids being added. His mind flashed back to that night, but only for a second. He tried so hard to keep that night out of his head. He looked around and sighed, laughing at himself for being so easily shaken. "No point in going to bed now," he said to himself as he picked up his tv remote. "You heard it here first folks!" The tv blared. "Voltage, Lee City's new resident superhero, has found all 22 missing people. Here is Connie at the scene!" What's this all about, thought Captain Indestructible. "Thank you, George. I'm at the Abbott Junkyard where all of the missing individuals were being held and I just heard the most amazing story. Here with me is Scott Abbott to share with you what he just told me...." Captain Indestructible listened intently to his television. "Well, this could be interesting," he laughed to no one in particular.
