Rejected "In the beginning, there was nothing, and then the gods moved, and there was everything. The gods made plants, animals, water, sky, darkness, light, and anything you can think of. Then, the gods needed a type of creature, to rule over all the others. So the gods created man. But they could not make the shape of man or woman the same every time, and that is why we are unique. To help the humans survive on the planet, the gods gave them magyk. But the humans were greedy, and wanted the power of the gods. So they tried to destroy the gods, and it resulted in defeat. Angered, the gods let the humans keep their powers, bit bestowed a far worse punishment. When you die, your soul remains on earth. It does not go to any heaven nor any hell. It stays on earth, but confined. In a stone statue of your body." A little kid picked his nose and wondered to the old woman who told the story, "Why did the humans revolt?" "Because greed had invaded their minds, little ones," replied the woman, in a gentle way. A nearby adult that was supervising the story telling questioned, "Well children, what do you say to the elder for telling you a story?" All the children silently counted to three. One. Two. Three. "Thank you very much Elder!" they screamed as loud as they dared. "Thank you," someone else said in a hushed voice, "I greatly enjoyed that story." All the children looked around for the source of the voice, but it wasn't found. Snake stepped out into the light.
Chapter 2 Snake Everyone stared. All the parents who were watching took their children away. The ones who didn't have parents with them ran home. Some just hugged Elder for she was their comfort when they had nowhere to go. Suddenly, Elder screeched, "Demon! Leave this place! You are a curse and better off dead! Let the stone statues that have been seen moving entomb you!" Snake could only run. Tears had long forgotten him. What he felt now was only a numbness followed by intense sorrow. His black hair waved in his face as he ran. He suddenly hit a branch, being as tall as he was. "Snake! I heard the storytelling! I know you're around here somewhere!" "There is Ilkar," Snake thought. So he stopped and whistled. He could whistle very loudly, but he whistled so as not to attract any unwelcomed visitors. The yelling stopped. Snake found a nearby tree stump outside the forest he was in. He assumed that Ilkar went to get Matt, Cooper, and Matea. He whistled one more time to give them a general direction to follow to find him. Everyone lived in separate areas of the town. Snake didn't have any parents or anywhere to live. Besides, the king's soldiers made sure he didn't have a place to live in the kingdom's towns, villages, and pretty much anywhere else. The moon reflected off his black hair, moving it in front of his eyes. He moved it out of the way, showing a small amount of freckles on his tan skin to anyone who might look. The passerby would think he couldn't see as he paced around his little clearing, but he had a sixth sense for seeing things with his eyes closed. He was only comfortable at night. Being rejected his whole life is tough, he thought. It was his special power that was rejected, not him. But nobody except for his friends, Ilkar, Matea, Cooper, and Matt. He spaced out, and suddenly found himself in the clearing again. There was someone behind him. He turned and saw him. It was a boy, a few years younger than him who looked like he knew a lot more than he should. He had a wicked grin on his face. "Come with me Snake," he said in a convincing voice, we have to talk to you." "Get lost freak, I have no time for you," Snake replied in a nasty voice. Hoping that would scare him off, Snake turned and found that the boy was in front of him again! The boy seemed to turn transparent for a second, and then suddenly there were two of copies of the boy! Snake rubbed his eyes, making sure he saw correctly. The boy had become three. Slowly, the boy kept doubling until he was in a complete circle around Snake. Snake tried to rush one of the clones, hoping it was the right one. He was instantly thrown back into the middle. "That was not a smart choice Snake, not at all. Now I think we'll have to bring you by force." The boy started slowly tightening the circle. Snake turned frantically, trying to think of a way out. "Aaaggh!" The boy picked up Snake and threw him into a tree. Snake, suddenly saw all his friends in the distance. They could not see him and he only saw into the darkness. Snake grew angry; he wanted his friends. He would not be stopped! "Gggrrraaaaaaagggghhh!!!" Shadows suddenly came out of every part of Snake's face. He could see the boy, but the rest was covered by complete darkness. He could only see the terror on the boy's face as he ran. Feeling tired, Snake crashed to the ground, unconscious.
It is fine, but please do not post here. I will not freak out though. *cough* *cough* *arimay* *cough*
Friends " Snake? Snake? Are you awake?" "Yes Matea, I'm fine." said Snake, confused as to what just happened. Snake opened his eyes, expecting to see Matea and her comforting smile, but he opened his eyes and saw Ilkar half an inch from his face. Snake mockingly punched Ilkar away and stood up. There were trees covered in black streaks where there was light. "Oh gosh, it happened again!" Snake moaned, facepalming himself. "Come on man, it's not like you did it on purpose!" said a voice that came from above. "Can you see me? No, you can't, I'm in the trees. I'm as silent as the night," the same voice explained in a stealthy voice. Everyone but Cooper, the one in the trees, could see Matt was really starting to get pissed off. But Cooper kept running his mouth off. "I'm a lot more stealthy than you guys! Well, maybe not Snake, because of him using shadows and all, but-" Cooper was cut off as Matt lost it. "Just shut the heck up already!!!" Matt yelled. Cooper, scared by the volume fell out of the tree. Groaning, he got back up. Everyone laughed, except for Matea, as she was a mute. What Snake didn't know, is that all of them were trying to take Snake's mind off of him being rejected by the whole village. Three hours later... "I just don't get it guys, why does everyone hate me!" Snake intoned, looking at the ground. "Aww, Snake, the don't hate you, they just don't like you very much!" Ilkar said jokingly. But Snake was in no mood for jokes. "Guys, I'm leaving tonight, and Mikey already agreed to accompany me. Other people asked, like Shannon and Vivian." Snake got up, and walked toward the village. "Anybody coming with me?" "I'll go," Ilkar, no longer joking, said serious. "Lemme just get my weapons." Ilkar headed back. " I'll be coming, I don't have a real home anyway." said Matea via telepathy. Snake turned around to ask Matt. "Matt?" But Matt wasn't there. Snake turned around and saw Matt, already heading to the village. "Of course I'm going, loser, who else is gonna save all of your butts?" Matthias spoke without turning back. But there was one more person. "Cooper?" Cooper hadn't moved. "This isn't for me, Snake. I have a family here I have to take care of," said Cooper sadly. Ilkar had lost all manner if friendliness. "Fine! We don't need you, but I expect you to be here, in an hour! Then we'll all set off!" Ilkar turned and ran. Snake, knowing there was nothing he could do, followed Ilkar. The rest came with him. Snake turned back and watched Cooper slowly disappear in the night.
Chapter 3 Time to hit the road "Man! How could Cooper skip out on us NOW?! Of all those times, he's really done it!" IIkar had been complaining for the past half an hour on their walk back to the village and nobody even argued anymore. They had all tuned out of it. "If he shows his face again, I'm gonna, I will... I really don't know what I could do." Ilkar plopped himself on the ground sadly, shaking his head. " He'll be there," telepathized Matea as she touched Ilkar's shoulder. "Now, let's move." The rest of the journey was traveled in silence. When they got to the village, the moon was out and everyone was inside for fear of terrible beasts. So Snake and everyone traveled straight through the middle of town to their stash of weapons. Matt pulled out his weapons, a massive longsword and a long spear. Mikey pulled out a crossbow with about three bolts, but he never seemed to run out. He also pulled out a plain sword. Snake looked in so he could take Cooper's weapons to him, but they were gone. "Hello?" said a questioning voice behind them. Ilkar turned around and fell over. "P-p-p-pretty girl!" he said, surprised. The girl giggled. "Thanks,"she said, walking over to Ilkar, "Thank you very much," she said leaning over his ear. She turned around to find the longsword, pointed directly at her face. "Get out of here." Matt growled in a blunt voice. Ilkar got up and stood in front of the sword. "Wow, wow, no need to be so threatening!" He turned to the girl. "Are you ok?" "Yup," she said, her voice no longer flirty, "I'm Allegra." The sword, still not having moved, came closer to Allegra's face. "Get out." This provoked an argument. "Come on Matt! Just let her come!" "Come where? Can I come?" "No." "Man, sometimes your such a ****!" "You're worse than me, what are you?" "Matt!" "Yes, Ilkar?" "Let her come." "Ask Snake." Matt, Ilkar, and Allegra looked at Snake expectantly. He took a moment to decide, and said, "Majority rules?" He then proceeded to walk away, wanting to be out of the argument. He heard an "All right!" behind him, and started running. Five minutes later everyone caught up to him including Shannon and Vivian. They set off wordlessly and did not even attempt conversation. A while later, they sat down to rest. It was still silent. Everyone was cold. They did not think of lighting a fire, it would attract unwanted things. Crackle! Pop! Crackle! They all sat up. Ilkar was the first one to talk. "Is that?-" "I feel heat," said Snake. They all expected Mikey to jump in, and say, "Well let's go find it!" But he didn't. It was very awkward for them. Matt got up and started to walk away. "Where are you going Matt?" asked Snake, scrambling to get up. "To find the fire! If you sissies won't get up, I will." retorted Matt. Everyone then got up and followed him. After a while of searching, Matt stopped. He suddenly turned and yelled, "Get down!" at Snake. Moments later Snake heard something thud, and part his hair. He looked up, to see a flaming arrow right above his head.
Chapter 4 Aaron Snake stared at the arrow above him, slowly moving away from it. Everyone was too shocked to move. "Missed." The voice was barely audible, lower than a whisper. Everyone swung their heads left and right, looking for the source of the voice. Ilkar found it, and started to chant a spell, and a pentagon appeared around him. thud! Ilkar cried out in pain as an arrow imbedded itself in his arm. Matt immediately drew his sword. Another arrow came flying, and Matt deflected it. "Who are you? Show yourself!" Matt cried out, once again forming a defensive stance. "I'm here to kill you," said the hidden person in a bland voice. Matt charged to the sound of the voice, but the bush nearest to him burst into flames. Matt slowly backed up, bringing everyone with him. "We can't defeat this person, not now." said Matt, almost sounding strained. He picked up Ilkar and turned to run. The surrounding forest in front of them burst into flames, blasting them all back. "What do you want with us?!" Snake cried out in despair, trying to activate his power. Though he knew it wouldn't come. Snake heard the whistle of another arrow, and Matea shoved him aside before it hit him. She cried out in pain as it went through her leg and stayed there. "Matea!" Snake rushed to help, and another arrow landed right in front of him. But he didn't pause, and scooped her up in his arms. Vivian and Shannon were dodging arrows left and right, but Snake knew they couldn't hold out forever. thud! Snake looked around him, looking for the arrow. But then he looked down, and saw the rapidly spreading pool of blood. Snake was confused. The world was losing it's color, and it was growing quieter, in the middle of a fight! " I have to get in there," he thought, but the world steadily grew darker and duller. "Snake!" Snake strained to open his eyes, and was rewarded with the sight of a boy. It was Cooper!
Chapter 5 Allies? Or enemies? "Snake? Snake?! Wake up! Awww man Cooper he's dead!" The voice was far off, like a dream, but it wasn't as hazy. Snake was in his own area in his mind. He was floating. He didn't need to breathe, he didn't need to eat or drink. The vision grew clearer, and Snake blinked, and was rewarded with sight, or more like a screen. "His eyes! They opened up a little! He's alive!" Ilkar got up and did a little dance, then fell when Matea tripped him. Ilkar looked over at Matea, and was about to scold her, but she paid him no heed. She was fighting to stay awake. Ilkar, not paying attention, then and there ran into a tree. It was the only tree for about thirty feet, and he hit that one. He rubbed his arm and said, "Hey, at least I'm not the worst injured right?" He looked around, and plopped himself under the shade of the tree, which wasn't much. Something seemed to click in Vivian's head, who was up until now silent, standing with Shannon. "Mikey, Allegra, why aren't you injured?" Allegra immediately darkened, but Mikey just shrugged. "Just lucky, you know?" He started to walk away, saying,"I'll go look for some game, or a nearby town." He turned around to see a squirrel, right in front of him. However, this squirrel was strangely still. It seemed to grow in size, and was finally about as tall as Mikey. It's tail shrunk. It's fur fell off, and the ears disappeared, to reveal, Shannon. She spoke, in a rough voice that made you want to hide, "You and....her," she said, jerking a thumb at Allegra," Don't have even one scorch mark. Not even on your clothes." Apparently, this didn't suit with Allegra, and she plucked from the air, a sword and a bow made of water, and water rose out of the ground. "Sorry I gotta do this Snake," Mikey started crackling with energy, and blasted Shannon into The tree. Ilkar got up, only to be smashed back by Shannon's flying form. Allegra raised her arms, and rain came. Mikey started clapping, and thunder and lightning came. A bolt of lighting smashed right down next to Mikey. He grabbed it, and held it above Snake. By now, Snake could see, his movement hadn't returned to him yet. Mikey raised up, and Snake closed his eyes. He heard a deafening smash, and opened his eyes. There was Cooper, a fist made of stone, but he sure as hell wasn't dead. His body turned into rock, and took itself apart, grinding itself into sand. It then proceeded to turn into sand. Mikey kept punching the air, as if swatting invisible mosquitoes. A rock formed long enough to crack his head. Mikey fell over, clutching his face. Cooper reassembled himself, a lot quicker this time. Shannon and Vivian were fighting Allegra, but it was clear they were losing. Shannon's animal transformations didn't do much against water, and Vivian couldn't make a weapon out of much. Her and closed around a branch, an it turn into a spear, but Allegra had made a bubble around her that absorbed blows, and threw punches. Snake got up just in time to see Vivian fly straight past him. Shannon went and hit a steadily running Matt, who had gone to gather firewood. Allegra advanced on Snake. "Die you gutless wretch!" Allegra attacked Snake with hate in her eyes. But Snake dodged them all. It was just like when the villagers threw rocks and spears at him when he was little. Snake thrust out his hand, thinking, powers, don't fail me now! Nothing happened. They both paused, and then Allegra smashe him into the ground. Snake thought he was about to die as Allegra came smashing down. Calm yourself host, we are the powers of darkness. We will not fail you. Do not fail us. We give you our strength. Snake looked up, and saw the sky had turned black. Everyone stopped to look that was conscious. Which was only Allegra, Snake, Cooper, and Mikey. Snake knew he was I control now. He reached out with his hand, and said,"Burn!" Black flames of shadow danced across Allegra's water, engulfing her. "Cease!" The dakrness took on a solid form, and now Snake was grinning. His snake eyes looked evil. That solid form was Allegra. "Switch!" he cackled, and the shadow form started moving, panicking. Snake reached down and plucked Allegra's shadow from her body, and her body stiffened. Strings formed on them. He gave the body a knife, and puppeteered it, slowly walking toward Allegra, who was in the shadow. The puppet approached her, and sliced her stomach, straight across. There was no blood, only pain. That's it, give yourself to us, and we will make everything better! Snake clutched his head, and convulsed on the ground. "No!" he cried, "No!" The darkness receeded, as well as the storm. All was well. Allegra collapsed, Mikey too. They disappeared, and Cooper closed his eyes, and fell asleep. Snake got up, and stood there. He saw the wreckage of a town, and knew who did it. Him. haha! Two chapters! Speedy!
Chapter 6 Fear of the Dark Snake sifted through the ruins of the town, finding no signs of life. He stopped in sadness as he found the remains of a doll, and prayed for this not to happen again. Every body he found, he buried. Each told a story of sadness, of pain, and destruction. All done by him. Cooper got up and left. He could not take it anymore. This was his hometown. Snake looked up too see a sculpture, presumably the town square. The face of the sculpture had been defaced, now showing a face of horror. Snake closed his eyes, trying to tune it all out. Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder, and opened his eyes to see Matea, bent down to sit with him. She said nothing, they were all feeling down. The sat there for a moment, a brief silence in mourning. "Snake! Matea! They escaped, and Matt, he's-" Snake interrupted Cooper, who was sprinting at top speed. "Wait! Slow down. What happened Cooper?" Snake got up, steadying Cooper. Cooper took deep breaths, and said, "Allegra and Cooper got away, knocking Matt out in the process." Cooper started to run, yelling, "Matt! Matt! We're coming!" Snake and Matea started to run, but stopped. The reason was this. "Cooper! Shut up! I said I'm fine!" Matt walked out of the forest with a slight limp. Matea wasn't convinced. " Then what is that soaking on your shirt? " Shannon ran out as a giant wolf, and picked him up, then set him down on a flat area, and held him down. Ilkar came next, and cut open Matt's shirt, revealing a huge gash across his chest. "He's such a liar, isn't he?" Everyone turned around to see a boy. No one recognized him at first, but Snake remembered him. "You!" It was the boy from that first night, the cloner. "Catch him!" "Okay," he sighed, but then grinned, multiplying by the hundreds. Simeultanously, all of the clones exclaimed, "But which one's me?" Then they rushed the group. Everyone drew their weapons, and formed a defensive circle around Matt and Matea. The battle was over quick, they destroyed, it was massacre. When it was over, the boy and clones dragged everyone away. Vivian slowly watched the boy and her friends fade into the distance. She persued them silently.
Chapter 7 Dreaming? Matea was enjoying a pleasant dream. She was in a park with all her friends. The sky was a blue, cloudless blanket, and the air smelled like honey. The grass was green, the sun was out, and everyone was happy. Except for Snake. He sat there, a serious look on his face, and focused on one single spot at the edge of the park. Matt, noticing this, followed Snake's line of sight and focused on that same spot. He blinked. For a while, it seemed they were in a steel room with nothing in it but a single tree planted right in the middle of the room. Matt grew weary of staring, and blinked again. The room was back to normal. Shannon, who was currently in the form of a chipmunk, climbed up that tree. There were acorns growing on it, and she reached out to grab one. She took it and bit into it. It had a sweet taste, and the inside was purple. The tree started to sway, along with everything else. Shannon gave in to the icy blackness before she hit the ground. Matea focused, and cleared her muddled thoughts. All the happiness slipped away. This is no dream, she realized. She saw the same vision that Matt did, but it stayed there. The grass was gone, and she realized, as the chipmunk grew bigger, that it was Shannon passed out on the ground. Cooper blinked lazily, and sat up. He was thirsty and reached for a nearby cup. As he put the cup to his mouth, he smelled a sickeningly sweet smell coming from the liquid. He snapped awake, and found himself in the stone room. He poured the water out, knowing it was drugged. He gently shook Ilkar awake. Ilkar didn't have a nice dream or vision when he was drugged. He was on an altar about to be sacrificed. Just as the knife was about to plunge into his soft delicate stomach, his bonds disappeared. In fact, everything did. He sat up screaming his head off. He threw off the effects of the drug for everyone. He even managed to wake Shannon. Everyone stood there trying to contain him. Gradually, he calmed down. "Sorry," he shook, sending tremors down his whole body. "No one should scream...." He tensed up and screamed, running around the room like a chicken with it's head cut off. He stopped midscream when Matt punched him in the face. He looked down at a now unconscious Ilkar and muttered, "Hypocrite."
Chapter 8 The Games Vivian looked up at the large dome building she had tracked her friends to. People were flooding in and she did the same. She used her special power and suddenly the people around her were bound together. She traveled through the crowd with ease, the people forming a shield around her. When she got inside, she gasped. The dome was massive, a lot bigger on the inside than the outside. The outside was massive too. It was a colosseum, and she made her way to an empty seat near the arena. There were four people in the arena, each one she recognized. Matea. Cooper. Mikey. Allegra. Mikey and Allegra were wearing blue, and Matea and Cooper were wearing yellow. Each of them had weapons. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to The Games! Where you fight to the death! The winner keeps the losers statues!" said a voice. Vivian clenched her fists, and bit her nails. Matea did not know how to fight! Vivian watched helplessly as they fought. Cooper was holding well with Mikey, but Matea was losing. Matea raised her weapon in vain as Allegra formed a water spear. The spear went right through her weapon. Suddenly she was enveloped with a sharp pain in her chest, and the whole world seemed to grow distant. The ocean surrounded her, but she could still see in front of her. Cooper scrambled to save Matea, but he watched as she slowly turned to stone. Allegra grinned, and then attacked Mikey.
Chapter 9 Broken Snake was placed in a iron cage while Matea was dragged away from the rest of them, along with Cooper. The guards then hefted Snake's cage up with a grunt. "Man kid! You gotta lose a few pounds!" The guard put the cage down, tipping the other guard. He stood there, teetering for a moment. The free guard sighed, and procceeded to help his partner. The guards led him to the center of what looked to be an arena. They placed him in the center, and attached him to a thick rope. They hefted the cage up, and Snake had a good view of the whole structure. It was a coliseum, and people were filing in the seats. They pointed and laughed at him when they saw him above. Matea and Cooper filed into the arena part, each wearing a yellow jersey. Matea had a sword, but she by no means knew how to use it: She could barely drag it by the looks of it. The battle started, and Snake could do nothing but watch. Then it happened. Matea froze, and turned to stone. "Nooooooo!!!!!" Snake cried. He beat the ground with his fists, blaming himself for this. The metal hurt his fists, but he didn't care. Matea, sweet speaking, telepathy using, Matea was gone. He shook, violently racked with sobs. He grew angry at the world. For ripping herbaway from him. His vision darkened. The voices came back. Do you want to avenge her boy? Give yourself over to us. Snake nodded once, holding back a sob, and let his will to live go. He immediately was filled with energy, and his skin bursted. Erupting from his body came an eight-headed snake. Bigger than the coliseum. His size caused the roof to cave in, but he didn't care. The only thing on his mind: Destroy all who let Matea die. He bared his fangs, and struck.
Villain Bonus view Panicked Allegra followed orders. She was to turn Matea to stone, causing Snake to turn into the world's most perfect killing machine. She even turned on Mikey, her partner. As she stood over him, with her water spear in hand, the ceiling collapsed, and she was struck by falling stones. Her leg was stuck! She tried to pull it out, but to no avail. She looked at Sam, who was smiling at her with an evil grin on his face. Aaron stood next to him nonchalantly and stepped back when Snake transformed. Allegra was trapped. She cried out to Mikey, hoping he would help her, but he walked away. She cursed herself for being so stupid, and accepted her fate. She lay there, tears streaming down her dirt-covered face, and closed her eyes. She wished she could of at least told Ilkar she loved him before she died. Sorry i haven't posted in a while!
Hope two chapters is enough compensation! Chapter 10 Hero? Or Zero. Ilkar watched as Snake transformed, and gathered up all his strength. He let out some gas during this period. He stood up, and smashed his way out of the cage. Allegra was there, trapped under a rock. He muttered a small spell, and a bone dragon burst out of the earth, flying right to Snake. They commenced to a fight. He ran to Allegra, and began pushing on the rock. Allegra's eyes were shining, and she looked genuinely happy. Ilkar blushed, but then turned away to move the rock. He pushed and pulled, but the rock wouldn't budge an inch. Suddenly, a shadow was flying in from above them. He landed on the rock, splitting it with his massive sword. Matt jumped off before it could fall apart. Allegra had passed out from the pain, so Ilkar picked her up, and ran out of the arena. He came back moments later for a fight, and a dark spirit came out of Snake and started fighting Ilkar. Ilkar muttered another spell, and a coffin popped out of the ground. Out popped a swordsman, with eight katanas strapped on his back. The swordsman flipped his swords up into the air, and came spinning at the spirit, all swords drawn. The spirit took out two shadow swords, and blocked each attack the swordsman made. The spirit then went on the attack. His two swords moved quick, and made a series of slashes. When he stopped, the swordsman fell in eight pieces. Ilkar picked up one katana, and tried to defend himself. Vivian and Shannon met up, and together helped police the screaming crowd out of the coliseum. They helped pick up any fallen or injured people, and carried them out. When they were all outside the coliseum, Vivian and Shannon went with them, trying to calm them down. Ccrrreeeeaaakk! Shannon and Vivian turned around just in time to see the doors for the coliseum be locked from the inside. Matt had some trouble fighting Aaron, because he could not get close enough.
