Well for English we had to make a poem, so I did and my teacher submitting it to a contest. My poem was chosen to be published in a book. So why not share it with the Kaw community: here it is My Poem Life is a ride. We start slow and build potential, As we mature a little, we start to accelerate And gather intelligence on our way up. Once we are up, we develop experience as we glide into glory. But there are always small bumps and falls in our way. Although we may have a steep drop every now and then, But only to rise to fall again. We endure what seems to be an endless cycle, Which stays that way for a long time. However, the cycle changes as you come across a dark tunnel. Your ride starts to slow down. You start to fear what seems like never ending darkness. As you are on the brink of giving up, You see a small ray of light, as if the heavens are showing you the way out. When you overcome the tunnel of darkness, You look back and embrace your past, And cherish your ride in high esteem. You notice your tracks gradually start to rust, And you hear the wheels squeak and screech like a banshee’s wail. You see the tracks diminish ahead of you, As your ride starts to age, Only then you know you’ve reached your final destination. Life is a ride. Place commentary here
