This Week's Updates -------------------------- Smaller Estoc Trials War Sizes We made the change such that the smaller Estoc Trials War sizes are based on Members who are active and not veiled, rather than total number of members in the clan. We will run the experiment again on Thursday, with the size restriction set at between 40 and 60 members. If this works, we will be examining what we can do with the schedule and size restrictions to help with better matchups. Payouts and clans not warring after matchup We have seen first hand and have gotten feedback about the payouts that some clans are receiving. There are many factors here, but the most glaring being that both sides are not investing Mithril into the war, thus affecting payout. We are looking into how we can improve this situation. Red Paladin Equipment Releases and Contests We will be running a contest later this week, it will be slightly different than the ones before. I'll let kaw_creative announce this in a separate thread. Estoc Trials Times -------------------------- Signup: 6 hours prior to War Start Time Duration: 4 hours Matchmaking: 2 hours prior to War Start Time (Must sign up before this, rosters lock at this point) Activity Lock: Approximately 1 hour prior to the earliest War Start Time Start Time: This can vary up to 15 minutes. This will be reflected in your war timer. A: We try our best to create the best possible matchups, taking into account everyone that signs up. Due to the # of signups we have, it's impossible to create a perfect matchup for everyone. We are looking into some possible solutions for this, one of which is to adjust the minimum and maximum clan sizes. Q: The lag is horrible and it is causing us to lose the war! A: This is a complex issue, and hopefully this explanation will put to rest some of the questions that have been brought up. A common situation where a delay in processing actions happens when one player receives many incoming actions. The player that is receiving this action will most likely experience the "spinner" for several seconds when they try to do an action themselves. At the end of this, they will receive a notice that says that they were knocked out. This is a point of frustration for many as they feel that if the spinner had not come up, they would be knocked out. While our servers may take a few seconds to resolve all of the actions (it can be easily over 20 at once), we do record when we receive each action and the action that was triggered first will receive the Knock Out. Chances are, if you had 9 incoming actions and you tried to attack, you chances of being the first action is ~10%. To reiterate, while it may take our servers some time to determine the results, the results are fair and the first action that was performed will go through. Now, we are doing what we can to reduce the amount of waiting time players experience, and have been upgrading our hardware to accommodate for the number of actions that occur during Estoc Trials. Q: Will the war times change week to week? A: The war schedule we have right now is fixed until further notice. If we are to change war times, we will provide as much advance notice as possible for clans to prepare. Until that happens, assume that times for wars will be the same every week. Next Week? -------------------------- * Have something you want to talk about? Reply to this thread and we may add it to next week's discussions!
These times are terrible for my timezone -.- no war again this week it seems. I have also noticed that the lag isn't that bad when I use my phone signal, I did an Estoc war from my Android using 4G though. -------------------------------------- Also; these new silencing rules, is there a reason to why people can now talk in PM's and CC? If they got silenced for something they did wrong in WC then logically shouldn't their talking abilities be completely taken that entire day? I can understand if they spammed WC then these new rules would be fantastic, but if they said something completely disturbing then they shouldn't be able to talk at all. I have siblings on this game too...I don't feel comfortable explaining what some word means to my younger siblings... its just not ethnically right. My proposal: Have two sets of different silencing options. If one spams the simple words "Hire me" your new silencing rules should apply to them. However if one says something completely out there like...use your imagination please I don't wish to say it. Then a full silence should occur to them, also if they bypass they should get the full silence. I've had to explain to many people what certain things are for example: Bellemorte's comment on STDs, something that shouldn't be said online, I got asked what it meant. These things that are adult types of conversations should not be in view of kids. This is now a 13+ (correct me if I'm wrong) game but there are kids who are under that and still play it. New Rules Should apply to the following Reasonable spam - hire me, clan spam, etc etc minor things such as spam Old Rules should apply to the following Bypasses - no I don't want to see some kid say "female dog" (other word for female dog) in wc, its not right. Personal Info Requests Personal Info period Major things such as that..
Surely the lag is mainly the user having bad connection? I've only ever had lag bad when my wifi was playing up.
The regen time needs to be random after a ko with a random heal say 20% 40% 60% of your troops its to easy to ko an opponent and click a timer then keep them ko the entire war making it frustrating to say the least! Something to think about devs!!!!! I cant be assed to war for this reason.
Well at the wars are absolutely shocking for my TZ. Im UK (GMT) and they are all terrible: War 1: 8pm-Midnight on Thursday. I can't do that as work next day. War 2: 2am-6am on Saturday. Just had a long week at work. Oh I know what I want to do. Wake up really early on Saturday morning. No, just no. War 3: 9pm-1am on Saturday evening. Well I don't really want to be up until 1am. Enough said. War 4: 2pm-6pm on Sunday. Finally, a War I can do! So 1 out of 4 wars. And times are the same every week. If it was these time for one week then ok. But not every week plz
Re:New Silencing Issues Dear KaW Admin, I do understand that the silence rule changes are to encourage new players to play the game and to become part of the KAW community. However I strongly believe the changes open up more freedom to the wrong type of players. Frankly gamers who should not be roaming around in a 9+ game. I find it highly irritating that all these alts and players who post in WC for role play or a gf/bf will have the continued freedom to talk to someone in pm, even if silenced for inappropriate conduct. I do not know where you stand on this but when I was 9 years I did not know the earth was a globe, on the same level a child would not comprehend the threats someone could pose just by following them. In my opinion a partial silencing mechanism defeats the purpose of silencing to tackle issues stated in the ToU such as: harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, torturous, vulgar, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise offensive or discriminatory is obscene, ****, excessively violent or harmful to minors or depicts minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct or in a sexually explicit manner Yes I can see the third silence will eliminate CC and PM communications, but players who engage in these unacceptable practices stated above will have done a lot of damage by the time a permanent silence is enforced. Yes this silencing mechanism is a great tool, for your average 2 posts+ in 5min WC spammer (hire my ally, clan ad , any other kinds of spammer) who would have the continued freedom to engage in discussions with their clannies and in pm, but I personally think that I can survive 24 hours without pm, cc or wc access knowing that KaWers are just that little bit safer from internet predators. Please support the cause to bring back the old silencing system or implement a new system that addresses these issues. I have already posted this comment on Moose's thread however I am hoping that posting here that more Kawers will acknowledge this as an issue and I am hoping Kaw will take action and resolve it.
Dear KaW Admins: Q&A stands for: questions and answers. I post this because I have noticed that each week this war update contains a Q&A section lacking in questions. It seems each week two thirds of the section is reserved for complaints made in the form of statements. For instance - "Q: Matchups are not fair/balanced/equal!" is not a question as the sentence is followed by an exclamation point (!). This makes a statement, and one that is emphasized! Likewise "Q: The lag is horrible and it is causing us to lose the war!" is also not a question as it too ends in an exclamation point. The proper way to indicate that a sentence is a question is by ending in a question mark (?), as you have done with the last third of the section. It may seem like a trivial point, but I still contend that appearances do matter and to be taken more seriously grammar should be appropriate. I made a similar point about the latest release of the new Red Paladin Gear. The name that the creative team decided upon was a grammatical inaccuracy, and the compilation of minor errors such as these lead me to believe that you who run this game, do not care enough about it to edit your work. And if you do not care enough about this game as your work, why should we care enough about it as players? All the best, Upright.
I think that the payout should have no dependency on how much the player puts out ... It should all be added between the two clans and divided between the winning according to performance (even if they put in 100 myths they still get according to their perfirmance)
KaW admin replies not only to questions, but also community concerns, which is why not every statement need be phrased as an interrogative sentence.
If u want to improve matchup u can try to do many "team" for war each team are based on number of player ( 30-40 40-50 50-60 60-70 70-80 80-90 90-100 player) then try to doing u'r machuo against each team because if u do from 40-60 player each big player team will fight against very experimented player. U can also do it like summer war and reset prestige rabking then each clan who win war will win prestige point (like now) and the match up could be done against the prestige and player ranking And for finish if u want to improve matchup (i know it can be really difficult to realise) u can see for each player who's not veiled and ready for war their activity in war (plunder, nb of action, number of ko) by this way if a player is not so active in war he will count less than a player fully active for exemple a player who doing 5b and give 5-6ko each war they count 100% and a player who's doing 2-3b and give 1-2ko will count 60% then that will improve the war system because that count also with personnal player activity in war and not only with rank nb of player and stats (or other think that i doesn't know)
@Willy. Of course they don't, they're happy having perves run around on a game where there are children. As long as it makes them a bit more money!
Ok so I'm confused a little by the clan limit and who is counted in match ... Just the way kaw admin stated it . It says that all active non vieled members are counted .... If a clan has 70 accounts not vieled and are limited to just 60 do the 10 not in war still count toward match up? And I'm still wondering why an opt in spell is so much harder to make then an opt out spell
