This has been the most active day in Kaw that I've seen. So very much going on. NA practically declaring war on ATA and farming and stripping mods. The new, much anticipated eb released today, and forums in an absolute up-roar. I've read a lot of different threads today, and many of them are saying some of the same things. Grammar Unicorn waxed poetic, only coming short of quoting lines from Shakespeare's King Henry V in an effort to rally the community behind boycotting Black Friday because he and others believe the devs are just trying to make money. Others are angry that the devs haven't finished the pvp plan for all the Kaw purists who think kaw should only be played ONE way. The biggest issue that seems to be abounding more than any is money. Players that are angry over this don't seem to have a limit to what they can point to as proof. A recent example is the fang competition that the devs recently put on and before that, war xtals so players that don't want to "pay to play" can participate in ee. It seems they're convinced the devs only want to line their pockets with our cash. What every one needs to realize is, to us, Kaw is a game, but to the devs, it's a business. Yes, they put on events like fangs and they make money on it, as well as in general from those who DO pay money for game features. But do you expect the devs to volunteer their time? Haven't you guys noticed that we are a high maintenance and demanding community? Be honest with this. Haven't you noticed that requests and demands are made 24/7? Don't the devs need to make a living? Of course they want to make money off of this game and they aren't greedy for that. Nobody should make any assumptions on HOW much they make, either. We have no idea what their expenses in over head and staff are. And, more importantly than that, it's none of our business how much they make. I have a job where I make money, too, because I have to make a living. If my boss told me he thinks I should stop expecting pay from them, my resignation would immediately follow. They work in the entertainment business. JUST like any other business that does so, they sell us a product. When you go out to the movie theaters, do you get angry because they expect you to pay for a ticket? Does it piss you off when you go into an electronics store and you are expected to pay for an xbox or games? This is no different. They have features of the game you just can't have access to if you don't pay, and you shouldn't feel entitled just because you have access to the free features of the game.
It's a free to play game no ones making you spend money hell you don't need 3x to play of you care that much osw or pvp nothing's stopping you from hitting ebs The money is just to help you grow
Nobody should complain at ATA making a FAIR profit. But when every change that is made seems to be more about them making money, than the improvement of the game, questions need to be asked. In just a matter of months, the in-game purchase has gone from a luxury, an 'if you want to' purchase into a necessity to just stand still, to keep pace with the community. Now this is ATA's pergoative, but it is our right as a community to tell them that they are approaching the 'tipping point'. I, for one, can not continue with this level of financial commitment. So, ATA, it is time to have strategic rethink, before you alienate a large proportion of your paying customers.
what is it you feel like you need to keep pace with? This really sounds like YOUR expectations of what you want to keep pace with. Tell me... how many free features do you get in the very popular game Metal Gear? I bet kaw STILL has more.
I understand that, Dam, but the reality is that EVERYTHING is about money now. Was what, a 6 month gap in between season 1 & 2? Now its 2 months, with the summer and fang promotions? The promos are understandable, hence the name "promos" but things are getting out of hand. I know u did as I did and warred all season and how were ppl like us rewarded? 4 measily pieces of equipment that needs an additional $20-50 to mith up. Wars are expensive due to the fact that its hard to grow and its expensive in real life cuz they know that we know, we need xtsals to war. Thats understandable, it's still a business. So hear me out, $150 to war last season, $50 to reach 35k fangs, $20-50 for summer 3x Haunts, RARE drops on Seals that makes us spend money ($200 at the very least to get anywhere), Aqua that require purchased xtals to enchant, new eb that needs bb and scrolls (which will prob not be sold in Marketplace) to enchant (making players buy xtals). BLACK FRIDAY! and lets not forget the "deals" they offer for Christmas ( Hanukkah, cuz they know they can get Jewish money) and New Years! Oh yea, it'll be Season 3 soon after, huh? Then they have the nerve and audacity to scrap the gh build after I just converted?? Are you ******* serious??? I have an idea, but NA beat me to it. We are pretty much "stockholders" of this company and they seem to want our "shares". "from our cold dead hands", silly devs.
This game has always been about money. Look at the LB, it's nothing new. It's always a free to play game but if you want to grow faster then pay. It's that simple. Kaw has made more changes in Kaw in the last 8 months then I've seen in 2 years and the money players helps put out new aspect of the game. If you don't enjoy the game then leave it's that simple. I enjoy every cent I give ata and will continue to do so.
They scrapped my ght build after 2 weeks, and im a paying customer. Ive been on for 9 months and witnessed all these changes, but like dude said on page 1, enough is enough.
Y is everyone in a panic it's not a big deal you either spend money or you don't its always been like that
1) u dont need xtals to war. Its just that it gives a massive advantage. Its not like a SOD that is required before you do. 2)gh/ght means that ppl dont actually grow bigger, so its a hindrance to growth
@S1...Why do my analogies not work? Both are the entertainment industry. Both provide a charged service. @16 stitches... debating a friend about this, now. =) The devs don't owe us anything. They don't owe us free features to this game. If you can't afford what the devs are providing, you just don't buy. Sometimes people start playing games and can't continue because they can no longer afford to. We seem to be okay with this in any other game and any other part of the entertainment industry, but for Kaw, we want to make an exception. As for your build, my friend, I have said this before... this is a change that needed to happen. I can personally vouch for you. You converted for the sake of your clan. You didn't even want to. I am sorry for the GH's like you, but it needed to happen and unfortunately, you are one of the players who legitimately got screwed.
