Is Your Clan Wasting Seals?

  1. That 50% promo got me to thinking about how much return clans are getting from their seals vs. what they COULD be getting. I believe that clans may be wasting as much as 40% of each Seal of the Damned (SoD) used in HTE by not managing the use of spies.

Follow my logic here and let me know what you think:

    1) Each SoD gives your clan access to the highest money making EB in KaW. So the purpose is to make the MOST money for you and your clan members.

    2) SoD drops are rare so they require and investment in time, or you can purchase them with real money. It stands to reason that you'd want to get the best return on your investment (RoI), otherwise you're just wasting money/time.

    3) Each HTE has a total of 472,500 "hitpoints" allocated to it (not counting the 45,000 item phase hitpoints). To maximize your RoI, you'd ideally like to convert those hitpoints into the most gold possible.

    4) Attacks with troops and assassinates with spies cause damage to the EB and eat away at that 472,500. To maximize RoI, you need to know what your return is for these actions. For attacks, it's obvious...just look at the total gold results from each hit. For assassinates, it's not so easy, but you can figure it out.

    FIGURING IT OUT

This is a quick tutorial on how to figure out what your First Assassinate (FA) is worth

4.a) Attack with troops as you normally do.

4.b) Do not participate in the item phase

4.c) Only do 1 assassinate when your spies are at 100%

4.d) When the EB is over, record your bonus (B) and the total gold you made (T) from the history section for that EB.

    4.e) Do the math:

    FA = B - [(7/11) x (T-B)]

4.f) Each unload of spies is approximately 18.5 x FA

    5) Attack builds will be very surprised at how little gold their spies bring in. For example, if you have 7 mil Attack and 2 mil Spy Attack, your First Hit should bring you 140-150 mil. However, your First Assassinate is only 20-30 mil. So your Attack Unload will be about 3.1 - 3.5 bil (BEFORE bonus is added), while your spy unload will only be about 450 - 500 mil.

    6) Now look at the damage each of those does...the 7 mil Attack may do 180 dam per hit. The assassinates maybe 110-120 dam per hit. See where I'm going?

    For this example

    ATTACK BUILDS

    - Attack Unload does 4700 dam with about 5 bil return (after you include the 7/11 bonus). In round numbers, that's $1 mil per damage point.

    - Spy Unload does about 4000 dam with 450-500 mil return (no bonus gets added to this - it IS the bonus for spies). That's roughly $100 k per damage point.

    7) It's almost as if a strong attack build unloading spies is depriving the rest of the clan attack builds from an extra 4 - 5 bil in the overall total by using their spies and eating into the EB.

    HANSEL BUILDS

    8) How about Hansel builds? Hansels make decent money with their attack unloads and very good money with their spy unloads (almost twice as much if they skim with spies). So they get a great RoI by unloading both.

    HYBRID BUILDS

    9) This one is a toss up and requires doing the math in step 4 above. If your FA is commensurate with your FH (First Assassinate ~ First Hit) then, while not optimal, it should be okay to unload both troops and spies. However if you want to optimize, then you should strive for:

FA = (Total Gold made from attack unload) / 18.5

    CONCLUSION/TLDR

To maximize the potential of those Seals of the Damned:

    - Attack Builds should NOT unload spies in HTE
    - Hybrid Builds should check that the value of their First Assassinate is roughly equal to or greater than their First Hit
    - Hansel Builds are OK to unload both in the EB

So what do you do with your spies in the meantime if you don't unload them in an EB? Find a few good farms...the biggest you can hit with the lowest spies.

  2. Great read. 

  3. i never really thought about that. I just dumped everything for max cash, but, you're right. That's not the best option!

  4. Thanks for the guide UPC.
Fortunatly many of us don't have to worry about using spies on the EB. :)

  5. Yeah i agree, attack builds should not unload spies at all. Hybrids and hansels shouldnt as well if its those clans that do 1 escape a day.

  6. Hansels make the majority of their gold from skimming aassassinations.

  7. Some people have too much time on their hands to work such stuff out 

Just unload and get on with rl instead

    Just my humble opinion 

  8. So then, how about removing all equipment which would reduce damage to? More hits as a result?

  9. How to really Max on cash: Fill clan with GHs with 40Guilds, 1 Balanced low tier building(above T1), and have Lv5 ee then skim spies and unload troops.

  10. Yep...minimizing the damage to the EB relative to the plunder you make would yield a greater return. I thought about that but didn't want to get down into the weeds. And it pales in comparison to the 40% loss due to assassinates from attack builds.

  11. THAT is the best scenario to squeeze the most out of that Seal. Though you can go with more than 40 guilds before you hit the plunder curve.

    SoS's are right out!

  12. We've not allowed spies to be used for weeks on attk alts. We've gotten them up to around 50 minutes an eb doing that.

  13. I agree that as a clan u may be getting more gold but if u are attack build in a typical clan chnaces are that there will lots of hansels & hybrids in the clan
so if u dont use ur spies in escape u gonna lose gold.
simple common sense. does not need any calculations to understand that.
good effort but not useful to anyone.

  14. What you have done is confirmed what may before you have said op

Not to say anything bad but I've seen many people posting threads about att builds should use spies on ebs and the only people ive seen say it doesn't work are either hybrids or gh

    But good read op 

  15. @viruskb. Not a good idea if you are a greedy ass hat who doesn't care about his clan. Then it's not a good idea. But if you do care then its brilliant.

  16. Yep...as an individual you can grab that extra 200-400 mil gold for yourself, but it costs the clan 3 - 5 bil when you do so. That's why I suggested finding a farm. Overall, it's much better for the entire clan to sacrifice a little greed here and there. Especially when people are paying real money for seals and xtals.

  17. Oh...I missed those posts. Good to know I'm not the only one thinking along these lines.

  18. Also tho @ op. hansels shouldn't dip down past 30-40% spies. The lower end of your spy bar pays craptastically.

  19. Hansels still need to skim spies to maximize plunder payout.
